I booked us into the master bedroom to celebrate my partners birthday, we were a bit dubious at first because of everything with COVID and unsure if we would be able to go as we had booked in January. Everything was spotlessly clean, everyone wore masks in communal areas unless sitting at a table or sofa. There was hand sanitiser everywhere and they asked us what cleaning we would like in our room whilst we were there, which was appreciated.

The master bedroom was absolutely stunning and was well worth paying the extra for, we had a beautiful view of the mountains and lakes which made us really enjoy spending time in the room when we would usually be out and about. The super king bed was huge and really comfortable. The bathroom was modern and faultlessly clean and everything was decorated to a really high standard. It all felt really luxurious and it was the best room we have ever stayed in.

Our dog was allowed absolutely everywhere, including in the restaurant which was really nice as most places would only let dogs in the bar area. She was treated just as well as any human guest with staff making a fuss of her and bringing her sausages and treats. As this was our first ever trip away with her since we got her we weren’t sure how it would go but she really loved it and we had no problems at all.

The food was absolutely amazing, we ate at the restaurant for every evening meal and for Sunday lunch before we left as it was so good. The Sunday lunch in particular was the best Sunday lunch I’ve ever had when eating out, I was so full and could have eaten the whole thing again.

All in all it was a fantastic visit in what is a really difficult time for everyone at the moment, we really appreciated how much effort staff put in to make our stay great.

We have just returned home from another fantastic stay here at Ravenstone Manor. This has now become are 'go to' place to stay in the Lakes with our two dogs. The hotel is in a level location and the areas inside and out are perfect for relaxing after days walking the fells and around the lakes. The staff are really wonderful, so welcoming, helpful, accommodating and friendly. There is always a great welcome to the dogs too and lots of very useful facilities like a dog wash station, towels for muddy paws in the doorway and with access all areas for our canine travellers it makes for a very relaxing stay without the worry of having to leave dogs in rooms or only being allowed to dine in certain areas. The food was really lovely with plenty of choice for non-meat eaters like us. The staff organised a pack lunch for us to pick up in place of breakfast as we had a very early start one morning. The bar area and beer garden are great for relaxing and the bird feeders in the garden attract a host of lovely small birds. There is sufficient parking for guests and with the bus stop right outside the hotel access into Keswick is easy if you want to leave the car.
We cannot fault the hotel in anyway and we are already booked in for another trip in a few weeks time.

Just spent 3 nights at the Ravenstone Manor Hotel and we found it exceptional in all areas.
The hotel itself had traditional charm and it felt homely.
The staff were all friendly without exception.
The food was superb and all freshly cooked and for breakfast we had a great choice and all once again freshly cooked.
The hotels location is ideal close enough to Keswick to be convenient but far enough away for the hotel to be a quiet hidden gem.
The hotel is very dog friendly from the paw washing sink outside and the warm water hose to the doggy sausage at breakfast.
This is quite possibly the best hotel we have stayed in , the hotel just seemed to get everything so right .
Already looking forward to our next stay.

This was our first holiday with the dog and this hotel was perfect. We stayed in a classic room which was very clean, had tea and coffee facilities and a beautiful view of the lake.

The hotel is set up for dogs with a warm water tap outside and clean towels at the front door. There are lots of lovely walks nearby which are perfect for dogs. Dogs are also allowed in all parts of the hotel including the bar and restaurant. We ate in the hotel restaurant on both nights of our stay and the food was delicious.

Staff were super friendly and helpful, we will definitely be back!

We recently had a two night break in this hotel. Our room was beautifully clean with marvelous views. It was during the recent heatwave so the room was warm but the staff gave us a Dyson fan to help cool the room. The hotel was ideally placed for walkers (access to Skiddaw from a path next to the hotel) and Bassenthwaite Lake was very near. We had dinner both evenings in the restaurant and we really enjoyed the food, the presentation and the service. As an elderly couple we have been isolating for a large part of the pandemic so we were rather anxious at staying in a hotel. We need not have worried as masks, sanitisers and social distancing were much in evidence - we felt very safe. Also as non dog owners we were not troubled at all by the presence of dogs. All very friendly and well behaved!

This is one of the most relaxing hotels that I have ever stayed at. The staff do their utmost to make sure ones stay is is memorable, nothing is too much trouble for them. We stayed for two nights, our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and anti-Covid guidelines and procedures were adhered to religiously. The food is nice, the public rooms are comfortable and also delightfully decorated for the festive period. It is so quiet here, it really generates a feel-good effect.
I wouldn’t hesitate to return for another stay.

We had a one night stay for a catch up with family and cannot recommend highly enough. The hotel is very Walker and dog friendly with places to wash and dry your dogs, to pop your muddy boots and dry your soggy gear (a must in The Lakes). The rooms are great with comfy beds and beautiful views of the fells on the other side of Bassenthwaite. The food was delicious with something to suit all tastes (including dog friendly sausages for your pooches). The bar is well stocked with great beers and a dazzling choice of gin. Above all of this though what really made our stay were the wonderful staff, to a person welcoming, friendly, who all did their utmost to make our stay perfect

My Partner and I recently spent 3 nights at Ravenstone Manor, the staff were very friendly and helpful, we loved how Christmassy the Manor felt, the decorations were amazing. The open lit fires made us feel very cosy. Breakfast was excellent, so were the evening meals, I can highly recommend eating here.

We did have a few minor negative comments, this is largely due to the age of the building rather than any fault of the owner or staff that worked there. I found the noise coming from the other rooms kept me awake every night, you can hear coughing, talking and snoring. The shower took a very long time to heat up. The radiators did go off a couple of times, however, this was easily fixed by the super friendly and helpful staff. The windows in the room did not open which made the room very stuffy, I like to sleep with a little ventilation. The beds could do with an upgrade, both my Partner and I found the mattress and pillows rather soft/uncomfortable.

The small criticisms I have will not affect everyone, if you don’t mind a soft mattress and pillow, like sleeping with the window shut and can sleep through any noise then none of these comments will affect you, It’s just down to my personal preferences. I would certainly return for an evening meal but not sure I would sleep here again unless the beds were upgraded.

Also we loved all the dogs that were staying at the hotel even though we don’t have a dog of our own.

Looking for a one night stay during our road trip and stumbled across Ravenstone after a brief internet search. When we eventually arrived (road was closed for tree removal) we were quickly and efficiently checked in and directed to our room which was very clean, very roomy with an enormous bed, fantastically comfortable mattress, crisp clean linen, clean, not fussy and fresh room. I was surprised not to see any face masks on any member of staff but there was plenty of distancing and plenty of hand sanitiser. A pleasing dinner my mushroom risotto was good but lacked seasoning, waiting staff excellent then we sat in front of the fire and chatted dogs with a couple from Yorkshire before retiring. Breakfast was ok, service nowhere near as good as the previous evening - seemed unorganised. Extremely helpful reception staff a pleasant stay

We stayed for four nights recently and had a pleasant time. Food and service in the restaurant, breakfast and dinner, were good with plenty of choice in relaxing surroundings. Rooms were well furnished, although the single room we had booked was small, probably better for a child than an adult. Generally quiet. Pleasant and well tended garden area.

There are lots of pubs in Keswick and most are dog friendly. However it's over a 5 mile walk from the hotel so you may be better going in the car

There is a bus but it only runs every couple of hours. Takes about 20 mins I think. We did catch it one day and it was great.
