Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were travelling as a family of 4 and had an extraordinary stay at Seagull Song, one of the superb beach break luxury villas. Right on the ocean with private beach access and ocean views from the sea facing bedrooms, the villa provided us a true home away from home. We arrived very early as we had and early morning flight into P.E., nevertheless we had a super warm and friendly welcome by Simone & team and were super lucky to check in around mid morning already which allowed us extra time to enjoy the beautiful views and all the comfort the villa has to offer. The villa has all you can wish for, large & comfy living room with a cosy fire place that we used every day given the unusual chilly weather, outside sitting area and braai, pool, deck, garden, very spacious and comfortable bedrooms, a roof top terrace for even more views of the ocean, well stocked honesty bar,… too many good things to mention. The location is perfect for long beach walks, which we did every spare moment. Also enjoyed a challenging round of golf at St Francis Links and explored some of the nature trails right outside the resort entrance. The very friendly staff made our stay unforgetable and we can’t wait to be back again soon and spend more time in laid back and wonderful Cape St Francis beach resort.

I spent two wonderful weeks at Cape St Francis. I did a great deal of walking the beach, enjoyed quite a few excursions and was able to have a relaxing time. The food at Joe Fish and other restaurants were great. I was traveling alone and the staff made sure I was ok.

Not the type of place we were expecting at all! We arrived to a very dirty, run down '5 star' villa with dirt literally engrained into the floor, plug sockets hanging off the walls, and wires hanging over the shower. The place was so bad we actually had to request to change villa's, to somewhere that had at least been cleaned properly. The only places to get food within walking distance are a fish restaurant with only 3 types of fish on the menu, a very American-style bar, or a packet of crisps from the on-site shop. Impossible to buy groceries unless you have a car and can drive out of the resort. The place had a very Butlins/caravan park type cheapness to it. And I'm not even going to get started on the extremely racist views that were expressed by management...

We appreciate you taking the time to review your stay with us , your input is valued and it assists in improving the standard of our visitor experience . Please accept our most sincere apologies if there were matters that were not to your liking. Just a pity that these aspects were not raised at the time of your stay which was in February this year , almost 6 months ago. Our system shows that your booking was moved from a garden facing room to a free standing cottage with a private swimming pool . At no stage was cleanliness mentioned as an issue. No additional charge was raised for the cottage . You are entitled to your opinion regarding our two restaurants and general surrounds and respect that but would like to point out that both restaurants rank as " very good " on the Tripadvisor platform. There are also coffee shops and another restaurant within walking distance and confirm that a paid shuttle into the surrounding St Francis Bay area was always available through our front desk. The allegation of racism is a very serious one and just wish that you had mentioned this at the time and given us an opportunity to address it .We don't tolerate this type of behaviour but will investigate it fully . I assure you that the area is a great destination with incredible nature trails and beaches and hope that you will consider including it on your next visit to our shores. It is very clear that we did not meet up to your expectations and can apologize for that.

We stayed in two of the beach villas right in front of the ocean, with great seaviews. We had an amazing time as the villas catered to all our needs. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the space was good for relaxing. The staff were great and a lady called Betty took care of us and there was no request small or big enough for her. She made our stay wonderful. Great stay. We will be back!

The apartment is rather shabby and carpets are dirty. Shower head sprays water all over the show so you forced to wash your hair everyday. I wouldn't recommend the club apartments and will definitely not be back

I can only say that a stay here was food for the soul! We chose to visit (deliberately) during the week and extend into the weekend as we wanted peace and tranquility - we got the best of both worlds! An almost private beach from Wednesday to Friday and on the weekend got to enjoy live music and a more vibey atmosphere! Our villa: *Sunset* part of the Beach break collection and highly recommended for location. If you prefer privacy/a romantic getaway then the beachside spots are best the units are huge but perfect. Note that the units do not all necessarily have sea views so ask questions about what is best for you. This is a four-bedroom en suite villa with a private plunge pool that is steps from the beach boardwalk. The unit is fully enclosed which was perfect for my two dogs to run around (the garden is huge!) The kitchen is fully equipped with everything one would need for a longer stay and the undercover braai area outside was lovely. The bar area and additional bar fridge were nice to have also. My favorite spot was however up on the rooftop deck with its view of the lighthouse (my husband, of course, loved this as he could see the ocean and plan his fishing for the day!) As a family unit I think it would be ideal - located near the beach so not much traffic (the kids could do their own thing safely) or just simply booking with friends as you each have more than enough space to relax. They had included breakfast in our rate but we chose to self cater fully and do our own thing. Staff: Excellent so friendly from the gardeners to reservations/reception. My booking process here was hassle-free (in fact they were the first to get back to me plus provide all the information I needed - travelling with dogs is not easy and they really make the process simple - THANK YOU!!) Food: We had one dinner at the Full Stop Cafe and the burgers were delicious (the rest of the time we ate at "home") - with a large outside area under roof plus a large garden (kids area) this was the ideal night out - good live music and a lovely ambience. Their covid protocols were excellent, it was nice to see that what they say is what they do. In fact, they seem to bend over backwards to keep guests safe and that was appreciated. The entire resort you could see took this very seriously. Shop/Amenities: They have a small shop stocking the basics plus some beach gear which is very convenient. I didn't get to visit the spa but its on my list for next time! Beach - FIVE STAR. It got a bit busier at the end of each day when people knocked off work and on the weekend but on the midweek days it was me and my dogs with a scattering of surfers at the point. People-free beaches - who needs more! Overall a fantastic break and I would not hesitate to return to Sunset villa - Thank you to everyone at the Resort for making our stay so enjoyable!

This resort is short of absolutely nothing! Best location, lovely rooms, well serviced and lovely restaurant. We stayed at beach break which has the beat access to the beach. The units are well equipped with clean towels every day. Breakfast was included, and was really delicious! Sadly my trip was ruined by the very poor customer service. I had asked for several days to move to a 5 bedroom unit as my sons had arrived. The unit was available and I was willing to pay the difference. However I received resistance and was told the CEO would have to agree. Lady said she would call me back shortly. Still waiting for the call!!! Almost perfect holiday!
