Brilliant stay at King Minos Hotel. Fantastic location, we got 2 sea view rooms with a stunning view. Staff really helpful and discreet with a lovely breakfast. Fantastic pool and bar. Couple of minutes walk to the beach and tavernas. Our favourite taverna was Romvi on the beach but all are really good. Hire a boat from Giannis +30 698 765 4872 at the marina for 20 euros per hour and go see the islands and swim in beautiful water - take a snorkel!

If you need great place for your holiday - don't hesitate.
I was in Greece many times, and it's one of the best hotels.
Phantastastic views from the balcony - it's worth spending a few euros more to have a room with a sea view.
Nice, clean rooms, great breakfasts, swimming pool, close to the sea.
Close to the center of the city, but far enough to be a quiet place.
Comfortable parking place.
What would a man expect more?

I have already reviewed this hotel once before, in 2017, but as a family we liked it so much that we went back. And it definitely didn’t disappoint at all, so I wanted to leave another up to date review.

There are two things that really ‘make’ this hotel. Firstly, the views it offers. Since the hotel is situated high up above the little town of Tolo (I reject the view of another reviewer describing it as ‘a dive’!), you get stunning views of the bay. I would definitely recommend that you book a sea view room for this reason. You will not regret it. There are a few hotels situated right on the beach in Tolo, which is also a great location, but in my opinion the higher situation of the King Minos is a better location because of the exceptional views.

Secondly, the pool area. I love the music that plays all day, and the bar / restaurant area staff are lovely. It’s a great area to relax, swim and sunbathe. If you sit at one of the tables on the far side of the pool, you can also enjoy the views some more too.

The rooms are comfortable and modern, with all the expected facilities and conveniences. The lobby area is also very spacious and has lots of armchairs and sofas to sit on if you wish. There’s also a gym if you like to work out and lots of parking spaces.

For me, the only ever so light downside is the food. It’s perfectly fine, but not delicious. However, since we booked for breakfast only each day, this was fine as we were free to eat out every evening anyway.

Overall, I have to say that I really do like the King Minos, and will definitely be back again in the future.

This is the best hotel in tolo.
We have been coming for the last 6 years and will never go anywhere else!!
The rooms are stunning, the view is sublime and the rooms are always clean and beautiful.
The staff at the hotel are like family: they care about making your holiday the best it can be.
Our teenage girls love the milkshakes Christina makes, and our little one happily talks to all the staff (in English) all day!!!
We love relaxing by the 23m pool , enjoying a freddo or a cocktail!
The food at the hotel is also amazing - the breakfast there is so much choice , and all very safe too with gloves and all COVID safety measures in place - but it felt like a holiday.
Girls enjoy pastries and doughnuts for breakfast , while I go omelette or fruit and yoghurt!! All amazing!
Lunch at the bar there are beautiful salads and reasonably priced toasties!
I cannot fault this hotel - and cannot wait to be back!!

This is a terrific hotel , family run and very friendly staff . The room was a sea view one which I would recommend and was meticulously cleaned on a daily basis , great facilities ., lovely lounge area with lots of sofas and chairs . The pool and outside area is fabulous with a view to die for . The food at breakfast and dinner was really good with great variety and lots of choices , we stayed four nights and totally enjoyed it . Tolon itself is a bit of a dive , over built right to the edge of the water with no regard for planning regulations , there is no beauty here and the town is no advertisement for the Greek Tourist Board and only visit Tolon to stay at the excellent King Minos Hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights at King Minos in the suite at the top floor. The room was very nice and clean and had a big terrasse with a fantastic view of the whole bay. The staff was very sweet and helpful and the pool area very nice and clean. Breakfast buffet was good despite corona restrictions but the staff was very helpful. Overall a very nice hotel

The staff were exceptional, exceeded all our expectations. Hotel was very clean, good variety for breakfast and a very good quiet location.
Clean beaches, very good local restaurants and bars. If you like “Brits on tour?” Place is not for you. Don’t usually do recommendations, but this hotel and especially the staff deserve it.
We will definitely come back and visit our new friends at King Minos.

Lovely family hotel a stones throw from the harbour and a few minutes walk to the beach. The staff could not have been friendlier. They all speak excellent English. Rooms were clean. Pool lovely and plenty of sun loungers and tables to sit at. Loads of parking. We never struggled to find a space. The breakfasts were fine and catered for all tastes. Nice poolside bar. Prices reasonable. Would really recommend. Only downside is that the road down to the street is a bit steep and if you are infirm you may want to avoid that but you could easily drive down. Two minutes and plenty of places to park. Do go in the Pegasus Cruise to Hydra and Spetses which the hotel will arrange for you. Lovely family day out.

Nice stay, despite the conditions of the surrounding, that is dirt roads, incomplete construction, “dirty” houses. The hotel staff is very polite, all speak English, the facilities are very clean. Only had breakfast, and it was average+.

King Minos is arguably the best choice in Tolo. It sits on the hillside on the edge of the town. Take a room with sea view (don't take mountain view, you'll regret it) and you will have a large balcony overlooking a beautiful bay. Be sure to wake up early at least once, to marvel at the spectacular sunrise. The hotel has a good and clean swimming pool with plenty of chairs, a pool bar and, again, beautiful views overlooking the bay. It's about 100 metres to the town centre and the very narrow beach of Tolo. The first part of the road into town is very steep, so watch out. There is free parking next to the hotel.
The people are friendly, the rooms are not bad (comfortable but not special), the atmosphere is relaxed, so there's a good basis for a very enjoyable stay. And it's only 10 km's to Nafplio, the most charming town in Greece, and only 40 km's to world famous archaeological sites at Mycenae and Epidavros. If you want a good sandy beach, there's one at the northern edge of Tolo, about 15 minutes walk from the hotel.
I can highly recommend the King Minos Hotel.
