This was the third time I returned to this excellent family hotel and it felt like returning home. Yet, it never ceases to amaze me how courteous the staff are and how attentive, always eager to chat and go that extra mile if you need something or ask for information. It's the main reason why I return (other than the perfect location, of course!) seeing that they make me feel so at home every time. Once again, the breakfast was incredibly generous! It's not a good place for a gluttonous person haha - as they'd probably put on a few pounds! Everything is sooo delicious and I've never seen so much choice in any hotel my whole life! They even serve fresh croissants and hazelnut paste! What a fine combo that was. There's also fruit, yoghurt, cereal, ham & cheese choices, omelette, two types of cake... and a variety of things to spread on bread, including tahini! I was truly amazed once more. Note, the breakfast is served in the Hotel Minoa (owned by the same family and just a few doors down along the beach). Knossos is right in front of a sandy beach with sparkling clear water. The beach before the hotel is a narrow strip of sand with a limited number of umbrellas available. There are plenty of deckchairs though and you can place them also inside the hotel's front yard. There are more deckchairs with umbrellas outside Minos hotel that you can use.

Student trip so not expecting too much on a limited budget, but boy were we amazed, delighted and surprised with the Knossos in Tolo (or Tolon as we know it in the UK). First surprise was having to pull our suitcases across the sand to the front door with the sea lapping a couple of feet away, surprised delighted I should add, what a joy that was!. Second was that although the hotel can't provide evening meals just a few doors down the beach (!) was its big sister the Minoa that has full bar, restaurant etc, Wifi, so no problems there. The joy of this dinky hotel is its simplicity, crisp sheets, chalk blue woodwork and golly gosh the sound of the sea lulling you to sleep. Breakfast was served on the veranda in the morning, so you can drink your coffee with your feet in the sea. Would recommend to everyone!

Perfect location where you have to carry your suitcase along a Sandy busy beach to get to the hotel. The place has a island feel to it as you feel secluded the moment you arrive. This is a 2 star although I have been to three stars that don't compare in cleanliness and hospitality. The sea views are excellent and the water is literally outside the front door. Breakfast was better than most of the other hotels nearby. Fresh eggs and bacon with the usual buffet accompaniments. Breakfast served in a sister property a couple buildings over. If your looking for a five star this is not the place . If turn looking for a great deal on a clean room with a amazing view on a less crowded part of the beach you have found it.
Free parking near by in a large lot that always seemed to have one spot available when I returned. Sometimes needed to be a little creative and invent a GREEK SPOT like the locals do. Basically if you park there and no one is blocked from getting past it becomes a official spot.
Supermarket bakery and many restaurants five minute walk. Three minutes on the beach and two minutes up to the road.
This area has a lot of Greeks as well so the pricing of restaurants is very affordable and not out of control as you might find in other areas.
We would return.

Return visit to Tolo and the Georgidakis family run Knossos. Only metres away from the calming sea, the hotel is kept spotlessly clean and nothing seems to much for them to make your break something to remember.
Buffet breakfast is taken in the nearby Minoa which is a short stroll up the beach. There are so many choices that would satisfy even the most choosy of pallets.
On our visit we ate in several of the great value restaurants nearby (normally after a Ouzo aperitif in the Minoa bar) which serve all the honest Greek food you would want.
Before my first visit I was told this was a place people return to time and time again and on this second trip would agree wholeheartedly.
The locals remember people from my party who have visited before and are very genuine which makes us feel very relaxed and special.
Yanis should be very proud of his family and staff who complete the whole holiday experience.

The hotel, literally on the beach, offers great accommodation with very friendly and helpful stsff, the majority of rooms with superb sea views. Although there is no bar or dining room, these are offered at the much larger sister hotel Minoa, a minute'so stroll along the beach, where the staff are also wonderfully friendly and attentive. The Knossos is a gem in one of Greece's finest, unspoilt resorts. Having stayed at the Knossos for many years, we've found it's high standards have always been maintained.

I stayed here for 6 nights with a group and we had meals at the nearby Minoa Hotel. Both hotels are right on the beach with no connecting paved area. This is fine when the sand is dry, but after rain it can be quite muddy. I had a 2nd floor room with a balcony and magical sea view - well worth asking for as rooms at the back lack an attractive outlook. Rooms are a good size, simply furnished, with very firm beds and kept spotlessly clean. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. A lift as well as a stairway connects the floors and there is a small lounge area by reception. Food at the Minoa, just a three minute walk away, is served at a buffet. There is a good choice of dishes, including plenty for vegetarians. The house wine is good and amazingly cheap. The dining room becomes very crowded at peak times, so best to eat early. Knossos guests can use the Minoa facilities, which includes a large, comfortable lounge and bar area. Tolon is an attractive small town with a good range of shops spread out along a road.

This was the second short break in Tolo, Greece, this time only for one night but again the area did not disappoint. Knossos belongs to a small Greek chain of hotels in the area including its big sister, Minoa which is also lovely!... anyway back to Knossos. First things first... this is not a 5* hotel and nor is it meant to be. It is a simple hotel with simple amenities and simple service. Simple in my book is great! They just let you get on with your holiday. I’m very sure that if you did need anything the staff would be more than happy to help. The area has everything you need and the wonderful city of Nafplio is a short drive away. The view is incredible and can be enjoyed from the many taverna’s and cafés spread along the beach front. The water is fantastic too!

My husband and I returned to Knossos this year for another weekend break. Having enjoyed our stay in this hotel last summer immensely, it was a no-brainer about where to go. The staff welcomed us just as warmly as last year and on departure, we were on our way to the municipal parking area along the beach when one of the cleaners caught up with us, calling out for me.

She was holding a small article of clothing I had left behind without realizing. We'd seen the cleaners get into our room just as we were leaving so she must have been really quick running down the stairs to reach me. I was mostly impressed by her drive to do this and I'd like to congratulate the hotel for their staff for this reason.

Everything else about this hotel was just as wonderful, its location perfect, and this time we had a room with a sea view which made our stay even more special. The breakfast, which is diverse and very filling, is served at the bigger hotel of this chain, a few meters down the coast, at Minoa. It's the same hotel where we check in and out for Knossos. If you love to have immediate access to the beach all day and prefer quiet hotels like we do, you really must try Knossos! It's clean, it's comfortable, it's quaint, and its people are the best, incredibly courteous and attentive.

Part of the Family Georgidakis Group, just a few doors down from its sister Hotel Minoa, where we usually stay, but when friends join us they often choose Hotel Knossos for its location just set back from the sand, and it’s own quiet terrace and family atmosphere.
