The whole idea of staying in a 18th century fort is so fascinating, that I ignored a few obvious problems there. First up, the fort is partially open to public, the private section cordoned off only by a sign board. Some of the rooms don't have the privacy you would need, as the public visitors can peek in. Thankfully, we...

We spent a night here on our way to Jaisalmer from Jaipur. Pokaran is a pretty small city with not a lot to do. So I feel that people don't spend their nights here. It is basically a stopover to Jaisalmer. But to our surprise we found this hidden gem in the city and are quite glad that we found...

an old fort located in the heart of the pokharan town. the fort is generally missed by almost everyone enroute to jaisalmer from jodhpur. the fort is unique in it's structure . has a central place for the nartakis to dance enjoyed by the kings and queens then. the fort has canons in the front to safeguard ,and overlooking the...

Practically nobody GOES to Pokaran, but many people pass by on their way from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur or vice versa. Up to the point that, when I asked our very experienced driver, if we should stop to see the fort, he replied: "Don´t know, never been there." That for me was enough reason to stop. The fort was worth it....

This is one of the oddest nights we have reviewed on TripAdvisor. Staying here for a night on the way back to Jodhpur from Jaisalmer was a totally weird and amusing experience. Firstly the Fort is massive, and quite busy with tourists during the day. The hotel is a series of original rooms located in the middle to back of...

There is a caretaker there that will assist to take you around and give you a history on the Fort. He even knew all the best locations to take photos and was getting us great photos which is what basically tourist would want. Get to know a brief history of the place and have memorable photos. No entry fee but...

Simple fort with less of tourist around, so you can walk around comfortable. Half of it has been converted into a hotel. It is located in the center of city. Not many touts around to disturb you. Nothing great about this fort.

The location is right in the middle of the small town. The hotel is a part of an old fort. The fort in itself is not great and not even maintained very well. The rooms are decent with basic facilities. The nice part is that feel like living in a fort where kings and queens used to stay at one...

We took a suite and we're travelling with friends, had an amazing gala time. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Few BIG negatives were - no phone in the room meaning no room service, Not all rooms have television set and also no menu card and they were charging us for food as per their own rates which they never...

Can't say about the hotel but the fort itself is horrible. No maintenance at all! Dirty place! Smell of urine on the walls. Waste yard in the name of museum. Don't go there! Waste of time! Hostile staff! Management should visit the fort once in a while.
