Fished five day this September, boated 1 had FOURTEEN in the air all on fly tackle. The Lodge is just as good as I remembered the showers are hot the beer is cold and the food is scrumptious, the rooms are clean and the guides and boats are good and experienced. You feel safe. Dan Wise is a host par...

I spent a lot of time at Rio Colorado lodge in my day. The fishing is better than ever and now is a great time to visit! Rainy season rates are always lower. If you have never experienced this part of Costa Rica, I highly recommend checking it out.

This is a great fishing camp! The lodge is great and the staff is wonderful. I've fished for tarpon in the Florida Keys, Homassa, Belize and numerous other destinations and this rivals them all. It's a different type of fly fishing, but the results are spectacular. A lot of fish, and nice size tarpon. Fishing with the amazing wildlife surrounding...

Rio Colorado Lodge is a hard-core fishing camp. They are there to help you catch fish, and work hard until the last 2 hours of the last fishing day (when I caught TWO (2) tarpon!). They are hard-working guides. We arrived with Lawyer Dan who took charge when he saw my infected finger, taking me personally across the river and...

I had never been Tarpon Fishing before and went out to the Rio Colorado Lodge to fish and explore some. On my first outing I hooked up with my first Tarpon in about 30 minuets of my bait hitting the water. What a rush! It was the biggest fish I ever caught and it was only 60 pounds. The guide...

We stayed at the Lodge for 2 days and nights. The staff at the Lodge are first class and the chef is outstanding. Edwin was our fishing guide for both days and put us on the tarpon both days. I caught a 150 pounder the first day and a 100 pounder the second day. Edwin was a great guide and...

Rio Colorado Lodge exceeded all expectations. From the time we arrived at the airport until we were dropped off we were treated like royalty. The food was hot and fresh and plentiful (don't miss the desserts). The tarpon are massive and aggressive. I got my 100# plus on a fly! My wife bested me with a 160# plus monster. Caught...

In March of 2014 I had the chance to travel with two friends and fish at Rio Colorado Lodge. From the initial phone discussion when considering booking the trip, trip planning and logistics, airport transfers, ground personnel, pickup and drop-off, lodge staff, food, accommodations, fishing guides, license and paperwork and of course the charismatic Dan Wise himself......everything could not have...
