Brilliant local pub.

The food is fantastic! Italian themed menu and the homemade pizzas are simply simply lovely. Kids loved the spaghetti bolognese which comes highly recommended 😋

The staff are so welcoming it would be rude to not give it a go 🍻👌🏼

My girlfriend and I have stayed here and met with the new owners Martin and Maria and I cannot say anything bad about our time here.

Service was exceptional and catered to our needs which is hard to come by these days. Our evening meal was brilliant I had the carbonara and my girlfriend had Maria’s lasagna and there was no problems with anything. Dessert was exceptional. Breakfast the following morning was absolutely gorgeous after spending the night in the most comfortable and clean room I have ever stayed in. Gorgeous views from the outside eating area.

Family run business and they did not fail to make us feel welcomed and a part of their gorgeous family. I would 100% recommend and I will definitely be returning. Prices and quality are beyond brilliant.

Thank you Martin and Maria for our wonderful stay at The Rushcart Inn.

Stayed here one night - wish it had been two.

Amazing breakfast, spotless room. Landlords incredibly welcoming.

Easy access to Halifax by cab if going to Piece Hall. Sowerby Bridge itself is a nice spot for eating and drinking with pretty views of the canal.

Highly recommend.

Stayed 2 nights, second night management had friends staying over. Accommodation on one floor so noise during the night when they all went up to bed. Nice breakfast first morning, no breakfast the second morning as the ground floor pub area where they served breakfast was locked up at 8.45am. Waited a while then gave up and left. However, contacted Maria (landlady) who provided a refund. On the plus side nice people, comfy, clean accommodation and very dog friendly, just need a bit more thoughtfulness for guests.

Disappointing. Told on arrival at 1pm that check-in wasn't until 4pm nowhere in the vicinity to get a drink or meal so had to go back down to town. Although the room was comfortable it was directly above the bar and was noisy until late, then at 07:00 the cleaner arrives and vacuumed the public areas and stairs outside the room. Told that breakfast was not available until Friday, which we booked. However the Inn was totally deserted on the Friday so had to post the keys and leave without breakfast.

I spent a night in this pub during a weekend away with my partner and her parents. Cannot speak highly enough of host and service we received during our stay. I felt like I’d know Kim for years after about 10 minutes of meeting her, rooms were nice and clean and fit for purpose and breakfast was Taylor made to everyone’s desires and came in the morning prompt and amazingly tasty! Can’t recommend enough, the staff and Kim are a testament to what can be achieved when you love what you do! Keep on doing your thing!!

We arranged a funeral tea at the Rushcart and had lots of problems during the previous week with getting a death certificate and being able to register the death. We could only confirm the funeral would go ahead two days before the event but Martin was very patient and flexible, which made a difficult situation much easier for us.
Maria put on a good selection of lovely food including proper authentic Italian pizza and pasta. It was all delicious - thank you Maria. Maria and the staff were very welcoming to us all and we felt very much at home.
Big shout out to Terri and Kate who did the bar and served food etc. Thank you both.
I can heartily recommend The Rushcart for good staff, good food and a welcoming atmosphere.

We have just had a meal at The Rushcart and the quality, sevice & price was suoerb. Great selection of real ales and wine. The steak & ale pie was to die for & my wife had the salt & pepper chicken & that was also brillilant. Our grandaughter had chicken nuggets & chips and ate every bit, followed by the sticky toffee pudding. YUM. We will most certainly be going again
