Had a wonderful stay, Celia was a fantastic host and thoroughly enjoyed chatting to her. We stayed in the Indian room which was very comfortable ( huge bath with powerful shower overhead). Courtyard is a beautiful space full of flowers. And the food! Dinner was incredible, warm avocado, venison and cherry pancakes followed by coffee in the drawing room. Breakfast was also superb with delicious fresh and stewed fruits, homemade compotes and jams as well as the choice of cooked breakfast. Great to see the red kites flying around when we walked the dog. Very dog friendly, they’re not allowed in the rooms in the house but can stay in your room whilst you eat and of course are allowed in the courtyard, with numerous walks around the property. Conveniently located for all local attractions.

house hotel, which is rustic, full of character, and surrounded by beautiful gardens and countryside. The rooms were very comfortable and we felt like we were staying in a home away from home. One evening, we had a home cooked three course meal (pre-booked) by Celia in the large dining room accompanied by other guests. The food was brilliant and we were very well looked after by Celia and the staff. The breakfasts were also very tasty, which we ordered the evening before and there were lots of options. We enjoyed playing snooker in the billiard room along with the honesty bar. Celia was very friendly and welcoming and gave us lots of great recommendations for the surrounding area. Would definitely like to stay again!

We had 3 nights at Craigadam and dinner on the first night. We found Richard and Celia to be kind and hospitable hosts with nothing too much trouble and frequent offers of tea or coffee with home baking were offered. Much of the produce on offer at breakfast and dinner comes from Craigadam's own butchery and smokery and was of the highest standard with the smoked salmon being the best I have ever tasted. The room was well equipped with everything we could have needed and their were spare pillows and covers available. There is a delightful courtyard with the relaxing sound of a water feature to relax in for an hour before setting off for the day or on return. The front garden has seating with beautiful views over the countryside. The breakfast room, drawing room and billiard room have the perfect atmosphere of a country house and we enjoyed the experience of relaxing with a drink in the comfortable drawing room which also has lovely views. Whilst there another guest had problems with his car and Richard sorted this out for him with no hesitation. When told of a dairy allergy Celia went above and beyond anything we could have expected even baking bread with soya milk for breakfast.

We picked this hotel on the basis it was described as a luxury boutique hotel as a stop over on our way to the Highland Club at Fort Agustus. Unfortunately for us we found it’s description was far from reality. Our bedroom could in no way be described as luxurious from the bathroom the size of a cuboard to a threadbare rug, coffee Having stayed in many luxury boutique hotels in several countries this hotel is not in my opinion a luxury hotel I would describe it more accurately as a farmhouse B&B. The room we had was far from luxurious from the bathroom the size of a cuboard which always smelt musty, to the threadbare floor rug, the coffee table that looked like someone had gouged bits out with a knife, to the bed that wobbled every time one moved. Despite the big rap about the great breakfast available it was average and far inferior to the breakfast we had experienced in Ireland and England. Would we ever stay in this hotel again definitely not nor would we recommend it to any of our friends and family in Australia.

A nice place to stay set in a very secluded and scenic location.
This B&B style farmhouse was very charming, the owners were also very helpful and outgoing during our stay.
Breakfast food was very good and the rooms, which seem abit dated were warm and cozy.

I have to be honest with this review. When I was looking at places to stay , I didn’t think there would be much as it’s the middle of nowhere at the Scottish Borders. I knew I wasn’t going to find a familiar chain hotel to stay at and was a bit nervous picking this place. I had never heard of it before but I was shocked when I got there. It’s the MOST BEAUTIFUL place I have ever stayed at. We were warmly welcome by Celia about 7 hours too early for check in as we had activities booked in the next town for the day. Celia showed us where we would be staying and was kind enough to let us leave some items that required to be refrigerated in their fridge. The courtyard / seating area is beautiful. The rooms, oh my! The rooms are GORGEOUS, spacious with their own private entrances and exits into the courtyard and the back towards the car park.
Words don’t do this once any justice. It was just gorgeous and we will definitely be staying there every-time we are down by the borders.
Celia took our breakfast orders as soon as we arrived and what time we’d like breakfast so it would be ready the next morning as soon as we enter the dining area she would bring it out.
Honestly the most scenic and most wonderful stay ever! Highly recommended staying at Craigadam if you’re visiting Dumfries and Galloway. You will not be disappointed.

Had a great stay for my friends birthday. The victorian room was amazing and the beds ultra comfy. The court yard is a dream to sit in. Contrary to some reviews I have read Celia was lovely and went out of her way to accommodate us. Her and her husband are brilliant chefs from home made bread and potato cakes at breakfast to a delicious evening meal, including the vegetarian meal she specially made for my friend. We would love to stay again and can highly recommend.

Having had a bad experience of not being given a room with a loch view as booked, we moved on to this fabulous establishment which was so well worth the disappointment of a mix-up. Thank goodness we said. We landed in this floriferous heaven of a courtyard, lovely comfy and roomy bedroom, and a hostess with the mostest (who happened to have a rather good cook of a husband/farmer). Lots of information of where to go and what to see around the area, and a great evening meal of lamb cutlets. There is an extensive Breakfast Menu and you can spend an evening on a full size snooker table!

Craigadam is a great place to stay if you are passing through or touring in Dumfries & Galloway. Celia and Richard are excellent hosts, going out of their way to offer a friendly welcome - a pot of tea on arrival, restaurant recommendations, advice on things to see and do etc. We booked too late to have their highly recommended dinner, but will certainly try it next time we visit. The main part of the house is homely and atmospheric, while the bedroom we had was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was varied and plentiful - Celia’s homemade bread was delicious. The rural setting is stunning. Craigadam is a working farm, and a highlight for us was seeing the lambs born the previous night before we departed for our next day’s touring.

Yet another amazing stay with Richard and Celia. Our first ever time in the Rennie Mackintosh Suite and wow the views are completely stunning. The quality of the rooms, food, staff and hosts is top drawer, tour the whole of Scotland and you won’t find better! Nothing is ever too much trouble and everything is delivered with a smile. Can’t wait for our next visit.
