We stayed in the Indian Suite which was spacious and spotless. Breakfast was superb, and taken on the enormous mahogany table in the main house. A lovely choice of fayre including Craigadams’ own smoked fish and freshly baked bread. Evening meal is an option which again was tasty and plentiful. Guests can play snooker and walk the grounds too. Would happily recommend this welcoming country house and look forward to staying again.

Craigadam is a great place to stay if you are passing through or touring in Dumfries & Galloway. Celia and Richard are excellent hosts, going out of their way to offer a friendly welcome - a pot of tea on arrival, restaurant recommendations, advice on things to see and do etc. We booked too late to have their highly recommended dinner, but will certainly try it next time we visit. The main part of the house is homely and atmospheric, while the bedroom we had was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was varied and plentiful - Celia’s homemade bread was delicious. The rural setting is stunning. Craigadam is a working farm, and a highlight for us was seeing the lambs born the previous night before we departed for our next day’s touring.

Yet another amazing stay with Richard and Celia. Our first ever time in the Rennie Mackintosh Suite and wow the views are completely stunning. The quality of the rooms, food, staff and hosts is top drawer, tour the whole of Scotland and you won’t find better! Nothing is ever too much trouble and everything is delivered with a smile. Can’t wait for our next visit.

I have to be honest with this review. When I was looking at places to stay , I didn’t think there would be much as it’s the middle of nowhere at the Scottish Borders. I knew I wasn’t going to find a familiar chain hotel to stay at and was a bit nervous picking this place. I had never heard of it before but I was shocked when I got there. It’s the MOST BEAUTIFUL place I have ever stayed at. We were warmly welcome by Celia about 7 hours too early for check in as we had activities booked in the next town for the day. Celia showed us where we would be staying and was kind enough to let us leave some items that required to be refrigerated in their fridge. The courtyard / seating area is beautiful. The rooms, oh my! The rooms are GORGEOUS, spacious with their own private entrances and exits into the courtyard and the back towards the car park. Words don’t do this once any justice. It was just gorgeous and we will definitely be staying there every-time we are down by the borders. Celia took our breakfast orders as soon as we arrived and what time we’d like breakfast so it would be ready the next morning as soon as we enter the dining area she would bring it out. Honestly the most scenic and most wonderful stay ever! Highly recommended staying at Craigadam if you’re visiting Dumfries and Galloway. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you, to Celia and Richard for another great stay in their "home". Once again the rooms were clean and comfortable with all I needed. The breakfast choices were extensive and the evening meal would rival a 3 star restaurant. Cosy courtyard for pre-dinner drinks, very relaxing with the water and tubs of flowers. I was thrilled to be back after a short stay last year and am already looking forward to a visit next year. Thoroughly enjoyable Keep up the good work.

This is our second stay at Craigadam and it just gets better. The rooms are spacious and very clean with everything you need. Celia and Richard are wonderful hosts with a great knowledge of the local area, they are always on hand to help if needed. The dogs are catered for too with plenty of areas in which to walk them. The courtyard is a lovely area to spend a warm evening surrounded by the beautiful flowers. Finally the food is excellent from the extensive breakfast menu, cooked to order, to the delicious three course everything meals

Service impecable couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. Room clean and comfortable. Bathroom immaculate with a huge bath. Breakfast everything that you could eat or wanted . 3 course dinner which would put most restaurants to shame. Great wine list and reasonable prices. Estate terrain varied Some challenging ground (with prior arranged special permission) dogs and owners had a great experience! A laugh a minute!!! Hosts welcoming warm and friendly. Covid secure. Can't wait to return pity work gets in the way! 5 Star stay with like minded friends

Absolutely fabulous stay . A last minute choice and wish we could have stayed longer. Spotless , covid secure. A warm and friendly welcome, Amazing food! quirky and unusual rooms. Celia and Richard were a mine of information and help. Can't wait to come back. It seems to me that the person who gave one star and didn't like the tree in the courtyard etc didn't understand the concept of this family country house .

We had a really challenging arrival - first thing was being told to close the door without a please or thank you (we entered an already opened door!); almost 'accused' of lying about receiving emails (which we did not); being asked various questions about breakfast (no menu provided) and being told we could not have dinner; being told to move the car and then not move the car; asking for breakfast at the wrong time and being told the departure time was an hour before advertised and so on. Criticised for using a booking agent. There was no relenting. Also this is 'not' a hotel its a B&B. Altogether a rotten experience and will be remembered for the wrong reasons. The actual room was fine.
