Just had the most wonderful meal here for my birthday lunch. I had the scallops, my friend had the haddock. Both meals were excellent - not only is the food great, the staff are also very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Called in for lunch on a flying visit to the Moors and as usual were very well looked after including a freshly caught Whitby lobster, which was superb. We usually stay but unable to do so on this occasion. Very pleased we did as we met an acquaintance who travels here every year from Sweden, sometimes more than once. Returning...

Having been recommended to stay here as it was supposed to be a good place to stay , especially with doggies, but dog's didn't seem to notice the stench as much as my family and i did. I've never seen so much clutter and clobber spread everywhere. Not sure why you need a hundred coasters and a kitchen that had...

This was the second time this year we have stayed the weekend at this great pub. The hosts are exstreamly welcoming, the food is cooked to order and of a very high standard, the menu is full of individual dishes, credit to the chef.

If you're in the Whitby area GO to this pub! In fact, if you are anywhere in the U.K. still GO to this pub!!! We dropped in yesterday afternoon for a drink as we liked the look of the place from the road. We were not disappointed! We received a warm welcome from friendly, professional staff. We enjoyed well kept...

Traditional village pub in lovely setting. Enjoyed a lovely overnight stay and hospitality provided by Karen, who works hard to ensure you are made to feel welcome. Breakfast was excellent with quality local, fresh produce. We will definitely return again!

We went for lunch after reading a good review on the internet. The menu was huge & extremely varied, lots of local dishes & all cooked to order, sometimes a bit of a wait but it was worth it- especially the skillet cooked toad in the hole. There was a separate cheese menu board again with a big choice -...

Picked at random for a impulsive few days away. This is a typically an old fashioned community inn. The owners were delightful and couldn't do enough to make you welcome. All the locals were friendly and chatty. The food was first class with plenty of choice, the bar had good choice of camra ales and ciders and the accommodation was...
