As a team of passionate professionals with a long history in pubs, hotels and restaurants, it is our aim to share our love of food, drink and above all good times with you Our journeys began in the mid-nineties with all of us having since worked in nearly every position, both front of house and in the kitchens, in some of Scotland’s best hotels, pubs and restaurants. It has taken us to many different parts of the world and all over the British Isles during the last 20 years. Deciding to turn our vision of the perfect pub & restaurant into bricks and mortar, we chose wonderful Stirlingshire, a captivating part of Scotland that is home to a wealth of incredible foods, food producers, breweries and distilleries. Since taking over the Woodside, we have been working hard to transform the building into a truly special pub, restaurant and hotel. Whatever reason you may have for visiting us – a healthy or hearty breakfast, a coffee with home-baking beside our wood burning stove, fantastic food with family in our restaurant, a glass of wine or a local beer with friends in our terrace – we assure you of a friendly welcome from staff who care. The Woodside really will be our dream come true and we look forward to welcoming you through its doors.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Feel service is very rushed between courses when having a meal ,over attentive.. need to slow down a bit and give time to finish drinks and food . severed a 3 course meal including drinks within an hr … Food is average, a bit expensive. Wasn’t a meal to remember, although will probably re visit.

Outstanding! The room was gorgeous, no idea how this hotel is only a 3 star! Can’t fault a single thing! The bar and restaurant was then the gift that kept on giving! Don’t scroll any further, book this stay and you won’t regret it! Oh and order the Sunday roast, best one I’ve ever had.

This is a truly lovely hotel. It is spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed, great shower and some excellent treats provided in each room for guests to enjoy, e.g. bottled water, lemonade, Pringles, Tunnocks Caramel Wafers and shortbread biscuits, as well as the usual tea and coffee options. Staff are friendly and helpful, going out of their way to accommodate guests’ requests. Breakfast is spectacular, with a range of options from which to choose. Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

On route to Manchester airport we decided a stop over as we travelled from the Isle of Mull and this is one of our favourite hotels for breakfast. The stop over didn’t disappoint . Rooms small but perfectly formed. Beautifully decorated and the superior room comes with little added extras . Fantastic menu in the evening . Fabulous breakfast in the morning . Staff so friendly and helpful . Can’t wait to return .

Wow, The Woodside did not disappoint! The room was gorgeous, great decor, lovely little touches (free crisps, lemonade and water - wow!). The shower was the best I've ever experienced! The restaurant was delightful - breakfast was very good, dinner was a great menu... I can't recommend it enough! :)

The menu was very interesting and we all enjoyed our food. The dining room has a wonderful ambiance and this coupled with very pleasant service made for a wonderful family meal. In short a very nice evening meal enjoyed by all. We will definitely be coming back.

We came away here after finding the hotel on line . One night break and meal . What a surprise ... Warm friendly pub restaurant hotel but inside is like brand new ! Room was immaculate , modern and comfortable . And the food was EXCEPTIONAL .... I'll be honest I thought this was going to be good but not this good .! What a stunning g find. Spend a day at the antique center and then spoil yourself here for a night . Well done all .. we will be back

This was quite literally a port in a storm for me when my car died mid journey on a very wet and stormy night. The staff could not have been more kind and helpful. Room was lovely - spotless and comfortable. And of course Doune is a picturesque village with some lovely spots to explore. Thank you Woodside!

My wife surprised myself with a 2 day break at the Woodside Inn as part of my 60th birthday celebrations. What a delightful place it is, where does one start? Our room was spotlessly clean, with fluffy pillows and cushions on one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on. The staff are extremely polite, friendly and approachable with a very "can do" attitude. They are very aware of their surroundings with product knowledge of both the bar/food menu and activities within the surrounding area. From morning till night, the food is freshly prepared and cooked. The menu is amazing, if I was able I would have tried everything. I strongly suggest a cup of tea with a freshly baked scone by the wood burner .... Heaven Overall a delightful stay and hopefully will return soon. Well done everyone.

The food was less than good and the small part of the restaurant that we were dining in ended up with 5 dogs in it I’m not a fan of animals in an area with food There should be an area for dogs and owners
