Stayed for the weekend with our son as part of larger group. This was for a 50th birthday celebration which the lodge hosted. Absolutely fantastic service, great rooms, great food, great location. The owners and staff went over and above to make sure our stay was perfect. There was a little playground in the grounds. The bar had a great selection of drinks. Breakfast was fab with lots of choice and local produce. The design and decoration was totally gorgeous. The place was spotless.

Stayed in Apple Room (has own entrance away from main hotel - liked that) but you have a key and access to the main hotel. Room was furnished nicely and had a sumptuous bed and Nespresso Coffee Machine. Powerful hot shower as well. Fresh cooked breakfast every morning was delicious. Proper luxury boutique hotel, nice grounds with seating areas - credit to the owners and staff.

We were absolutely blown away by our stay at the Craigellachie Lodge, and the only downside was that we couldn't stay longer. The interior is exceptionally well-done and just completely stunning throughout – as well as gorgeous rooms (which are comfortable, spotless, and full of really thoughtful touches), there is also a beautiful drawing room and bar area. It is obvious how much time and care has been spent to create a hotel that is both beautiful and welcoming, and it has absolutely paid off. We also felt so warmly welcomed and well looked-after, particularly after spending time in the bar while the owner Scott chatted with us and recommended local drinks for us to try. Every bite of the breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional. We would not hesitate to recommend the Craigellachie Lodge to anyone passing through or for longer stays in the area, as we wish we could have stayed for more than one night – thank you so much to Scott and the whole team for such a wonderful stay.

We stayed at Craigellachie for 1 night as a base to visit the Macallan distillery which is a 5 minute drive-taxi ride away (we would suggest the latter!). The lodge is a beautifully refurbished Victorian villa. The rooms are large, beds comfortable, lovely communal rooms- bar and lounge. Breakfast was good including the best home made granola I have ever tasted. The staff are delightful. The Lodge does B&B but does offer light bites in the evenings if required. We would definitely recommend.

Awarding Craigellachie Lodge 5 stars was as easy as finding a whisky on Speyside. My wife and stayed for two nights mid-September and enjoyed every minute of it. The place is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and the service is friendly and, frankly, couldn’t be better. Our room ‘Telford’ was spacious and had water, tea and proper coffee making facilities, not to mention biscuits. Breakfast was splendid, whether the full Scottish or as we had on one morning smashed avocado on a pumpkin seed bagel with poached eggs. But if we’re talking food then the sharing platters are ridiculously good. The photograph on the website of the meat/cheese platter looks great and it’s even better in real life. The pizzas are excellent too, as are the side orders. The bar has a large stock of whiskies at reasonable prices and also of wine and local beer as you’d expect. With a lovely lounge to sit and relax, we still found time to burn of the calories. Location-wise for those interested in visiting distilleries one is spoiled for choice, with so many to choose from including many of the big names, Macallan, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Glenfarclas all within easy reach. With the Speyside Way just a stone’s throw away, on day one we walked north, diverting onto the banks of the River Fiddich to Dufftown dubbed the Scotch Whisky Capital’, en route passing the Balvenie Distillery, closed due to Covid, but dropped in at the Glenfiddich visitor centre (where Steve in the shop gave us lots of helpful information) for mid-morning morning coffee & cake (to replace lost calories). The next day we headed south along the Speyside Way to Aberlour Distillery, then to Glenallachie and onwards to Carron, before returning again (laden, it has to be said, with some bottles of Glenallachie’s finest) via Aberlour, stopping momentarily at the Aberlour Larder for some of their famous smoked Brie and to the Walker’s Shortbread shop. We had a great stay and with so many other things to do in the area we would love to return. My only concern is that as word gets out the prices are may go up.
