We stayed in the hotel with our son for 5 nights. Overall an absolutely fantastic stay and we can't wait to return!

The location of the hotel is great - really close to Bicester Village Outlets, and within an hour of other attractions like legoland, whipsnade zoo, Oxford and Warwick. The hotel is easy to find, right off the A road, and the parking was free and easy to validate.

The room itself had a king size bed and a fold out sofa bed. We thought it would be a tight squeeze with the 3 of us, but the room is so well designed that we had plenty of room. The ironing board, iron and hairdryer are hidden behind the full length mirror, and there is hidden hanging space for clothes. Whoever designed the room deserves a medal! We were asked each day if we needed our room cleaned which was great as a lot of hotels don't offer daily cleaning due to covid. The bed was really comfortable and I would love to know what mattresses they have as I need one at home! Bed linen really clean and fresh. Some of the towels had marks on though from makeup, which I know is near impossible to remove from white towels, so understandable.

The breakfast was great - selection of sausage/bacon baps, cereals, yogurts, pastries and fruits, with coffee/tea/juice etc.

The best thing about the hotel though was the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all extremely professional and polite. I had to get medication whilst in the hotel and they very kindly stored it in the fridge for me, getting it out several times a day without complaint. They also supplied a sewing kit when my dress ripped which was great.

The main areas of the hotel were really clean and fresh, with blue shoe covers provided for the workmen, a lot of whom are staying at the hotel while working locally.

Would've been a 5 star review except my partner didn't like being woken at 8am in the morning to check if the room needed cleaned (i told him it was his own fault for not putting the sign on the handle!).

Can't wait to return, great stay!

Convenient location and good parking albeit access currently restricted by major construction work nearby, the noise of which is audible from early morning. Attractive hotel public areas with modern, well appointed rooms. Housekeeping standards were questionable in places. I was shown three bedrooms all with badly stained bathroom surfaces and in bedroom corridors and stairwells the carpets were in places stained and filthy. Despite posters requesting construction worker guests remove their muddy boots, floors were covered in dust and grime and littered with sweet wrappers, salt sachets etc which is more 'way OFF clean' than 'IHG Way of Clean' in my opinion. Also, after a promising start on my first morning, the selection of foods at breakfast dwindled each subsequent day as a result of 'supplier issues'. No napkins, no croissants, limited fruit selection etc. Tip to management - manage it! There are two supermarkets within walking distance of the property that I am sure could have been used to help fill the gaps. Overall a great location with comfortable well appointed rooms but, as is too often the case these days, a seemingly poorly managed property that could benefit from higher standards of cleanliness and customer focus.

Dear Johnnyboyyork, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’m glad that you found the rooms comfortable and location good but apologise for the housekeeping and breakfast standards you experienced whilst staying with us. Housekeeping are very short on their staff at the minute and we are aware that their cleanliness standards are not what they should be, but we are looking to improve this and hope that you will give us an opportunity to show this to you by staying with us again. As for breakfast, unfortunately we have been experiencing delivery issues with our suppliers due to a nationwide shortage of staff. The high occupancy of guests means we are not always able just to go to a supermarket to get amenities we need. The new team and manager only hope to improve the standards at the hotel so we really hope to welcome you back to the hotel again soon! Kind regards, Caitlin-Team Leader

Just got back from a 2 night stay with my wife, our first visit to this hotel. The good: It’s bright, modern, shiny and clean, good sized rooms, attractive lounge/bar area and overall very quiet. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The Bad: disinterested staff on check-in, no real customer awareness, I was standing at the bar for 10-15 minutes whilst a lady in reception chatted away to her “manager” whilst making eye contact with me several times, as did he. I had to go over as I assumed she would have called someone over by now but she said “Yes I can serve you”, was left a bit dumbstruck to be honest that she knew I was waiting so long. I experienced the same again when back up at the bar for my next drink, lacklustre and felt like I was putting them out. Very small and limited daytime food menu of 2 paninis, a wrap and pizzas, when ordering one of the paninis we wanted, it was no longer available but a replacement flavour was and there was no wrap at all available. I was asked “Do you want me to ask the kitchen what the replacement panini is?” I just stood them silent in disbelief and she said “yes I will go and ask for you”. This is where the lack of awareness resurfaces and the feeling you are putting them out. The staff were not forthcoming in inviting you into the breakfast area or then taking you to a table, they generally seemed to be avoiding interaction with customers. The staff were really hit and miss, there we are a couple that actually engaged and seemed to care about how they came across and enjoyed their jobs, but they were few and far between sadly. The Ugly, the parking has been mentioned by other guests in reviews and the information seems conflicting to what I was told on arrival. I was unaware before arriving there would be charges for parking but I know Hotels these days outsource parking charges to improve their bottom line but generally as overnight guest, this cost is normally waived unless you are staying in a city centre location for instance. Upon arrival I saw a screen outside asking you to enter your number plate and paying for parking, it’s obvious. But I thought I would check in first as I wouldn’t expect overnight guests to pay. This is where I was told something I suspect is NOT true and misleading and I quote “We do not OWN the car park and the land it is on so you have to pay regardless”. I get car parks are outsourced but if I am being lied to about who owns the land and car park then I question the ethics and integrity of a company and a brand. Why would IHG build a brand new hotel on land they don’t own? £6 for a 2 night stay, not extortionate, if legitimate and if you were also expecting it. The first and last thing I experienced and remembered was the car park when it should have been anything but…

Dear Quirkester, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am saddened and disappointed to read your review about our staff members. They are normally left reviews about how helpful friendly they are, and we all love to make guest's stay as great as possible-so I sincerely apologise that we missed the mark with yourselves: you would never be putting us out. As for parking the car park is owned and operated by Yourparking space, which can be verified by going online and searching for the car park on their website. This unfortunately means that the hotel has no control over the operation of it (apart from higher management in the company) and therefore I am sorry for any misleading information you may have been given. Staff will always ensure we remind guests about registering their vehicle and helping when any issues arise. We apologise for the inconvenience this caused you and hope that we can welcome you back to the hotel again soon to give you a more positive experience! This hotel is less than 3 years old so is in an excellent state. The decor is very clean and tidy, and this must be one of the only 'budget' that does daily room service. The receptionist who welcomed us was very friendly and even remembered our room number at breakfast. I changed my pillow for a feather one after the first night as I like a low one, and this was done with no problem. The breakfast area is very spacious, and although there is not a vast range of cooked items there is more than enough choice of other things, and the bacon at the bottom of the tureen is well done, just as I like it.
There is a bus stop just by the hotel which is handy for Oxford or over the road for Bicester, so there is no need to move your car. There is a parking charge, which I don't understand as we are staying in the hotel. All in all, a very convenient place to stay. The only drawback is that some of the clientele do not respect others, as I was wakened the first night at 2.30 by someone knocking on s nearby door, and the second night at 1.20 by a group of people going noisily to their rooms. The hotel cannot anticipate that though. I would most certainly stay here again. A great place

I booked this only during the COVID Pandemic for a one night stay on way from Scotland to Surrey and wanted to visit the nearby outlet. What a find! - I only booked a week or so in advance and this hotel had only been open for around a week so very much a soft opening.

it is easily accessible from the M40 South and Large car park where our car seemed really safe. The staff were welcoming and obviously still learning the ropes, We were welcomed by Sean on desk who was lovely and we were allocated a room on the second floor. There were a few guests but would suggest currently at low occupancy.

The hotel smelt new plenty hand sanitiser machines around and our room was perfect. ideal size standard fittings and I reckon we were probably the first people to stay there so everything perfect and very quiet. Bed firm, iron and ironing board. No magazine / menu due to covid but tea and coffee and shower gel etc.

The bar was open and small bite menu on offer cheap and cheerful and did the trick. Plenty of social distancing and notices. Breakfast was still self service but everything bagged. staff very attentive. We spoke briefly to the operations manager and her colleague to were overseeing the opening of the hotel and providing visible leadership. She was really helpful explaining as a guest we would receive a discount at the close by outlet village, excellent and it worked a trick.

We took out car to the outlet but we could have left it at the hotel and would suggest it would be a 20-30min walk there. Parking at the hotel free for guests

Good Luck Holiday Inn Express we will return next time we are down south.

1st time at a Holiday Inn and a "Express" hotel at that.

Very impressed with this place. Lovely and clean, spacious bar/restaurant area to chill out in.

Rooms were a little snug but we were a family of 3 with the sofa bed pulled out and we made it work easily enough. If you're a lesser sized couple/single you'll be fine!

Breakfast was just so.....easy!! They lay EVERYTHING out in a "ready to go" fashion, the bacon rolls were made fresh - wrapped in bags and kept warm for you to literally grab and go if you so chose.

The only shame on this trip was that i wasn't really a fan of the Bicester retail park so i doubt i'll pull through here again. I'll certainly be on the look out for them in other cities during my travels though!

Please ignore those negative reviews that say this place isn't a decent place to stay, they're crazy!

The Holiday Inn is the ideal stay for anyone after a clean, cool and comfortable room for a few nights. We had room 238 overlooking the car park, and the room was spacious, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The bathroom is small but very clean and functional (no shampoo, conditioner etc so bring your own!) We got a really good night sleep, no disturbances or noises from outside, it is very quiet here.

Breakfast we plentiful, really not sure why people are leaving bad reviews. There's a good cooked selection to choose from, plus cereals, fruits and even a gluten/dairy free section which is excellent. Drinks in the bar are expensive (£6 for a pint of Corona), but really what do you expect from a Southern hotel!? The staff are super friendly and very helpful; our request for a late check out was accommodated with zero issues.

The parking is around a fiver for nearly as many hours as you like. We paid for 24 hours in the car park which was five pounds, the cheapest parking down South by far!

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, there's zero wrong with this hotel at all. The perfect base for a gew nights stay, with Bicester Village being within easy walking distance. Totally recommended!

Stayed for two nights on business. Convenient to the main road network, but still close to Bicester and walking distance to Tesco and M&S food.
Plenty of parking for guests (need to validate parking using a phone app).
Covid safe check in procedures.
The hotel is quite new (post code not recognised in my hire car), so rooms and communal areas all look shiny and new.
Rooms are a good size, and quiet.
Self-service breakfast, which you must place in a bag to take to your room.
I'd happily stay again on business.

Check in staff friendly, asked if we had a preference on which floor we stayed. Room very clean and comfortable beds. Hairdryer, iron and ironing board also in room. Great to see double usb’s and sockets next to bed, rather than across the room, like so many other hotels. Good number of sockets too. Loved the linen wallpaper as well. Bathroom very clean. Nice size shower cubicle with glass door, rather than a mouldy shower curtain. Door fitted well too, which meant you could get out of shower onto a dry floor, unlike other hotels I’ve stayed in. Dove hand soap, shower gel and shampoo also supplied. Breakfast - staff friendly - asked if we had any food allergies or preferences as soon as we arrived for breakfast. We said we were vegetarians and was immediately offered vegan sausage. We asked for one each and they were freshly cooked for us, but not a long wait and very nice, they were bought to our table. Lots of other choice with food and drinks as well. Being a budget hotel I was expecting the normal, ok but not great. I was very pleasantly surprised and will definitely be trying the Holiday Inn Express brand hotels again and hope they are all up to this hotels standard.

Re parking - use the my parking space app to book your space in advance as it works out cheaper than the £5 per day.

From start, with a warm welcome, to finish, with a goodbye from Tammy my sisterinlaw and I loved our two night stay with Xmas shopping at Bicester Village. The beds were high and comfortable, with spotless white bedding, the facilities great, and able to pick up extra tea, coffee and milk at reception. The shower spotless and the service fab. Breakfast was especially good with so much choice and great quality products like the bacon and sausages. We ate in the bar the first time and although there wasn’t an extensive menu what we had was hot and tasty. I do, however, feel the parking should be free to hotel residents, though it wasn’t extortionate; £10 from Friday evening to Sunday morning, it is in the outskirts of town with plenty of space. Regardless, would definitely stay again.
