Oh well, the staff was very welcoming you even get to choose which room gets a better view of the lake and even though the lodge is not next to the lake , the view is still wonderful, they have the best buffet and also allow you to invite outside DJ and host seminar parties with liquor from outside!😋

This was my first experience to sleep away at a hotel on official duties. My colleagues and I checked in on Thursday Evening and Checked out on Saturday. The rooms were heavenly with state of the art interior design especially the bathroom. Rooms have a cottage-style design. The meals from breakfast to dinner were sumptuous and very friendly staff. One can view Lake Elementaita from the executive suites. Lunch by the pool side was relaxing. The only down side is the rough road leading to the hotel.

We held our team retreat for 35 ppl at the hotel for 5 days and it was excellent. The team were very flexible in accommodating us: great food (inc vegetarians), helpful staff, nice rooms, really helped with the coordination of travel, excursion etc. Would definitely recommend.

Only slight downsides: we had some problems with the wifi, but I think this is very common in the region, also being in cottages and near a lake there were often insects in the room, the hotel can't really help this though, and they were helpful in spraying the rooms each day and providing nets etc

Stopped by Elementaita Country Lodge to grab some food and hopefully get a chance to see the lake and some of its wildlife (hoping for its famous flamingos). We were told that they did not have meat for the samosas after we had placed our order and that veggie samosas would take at least 45 minutes so we decided to skip the food and take them up on the "Lake Tour" that they had offered. It was 400 bub a person and took us down an increasingly unkempt path to the side of the lake, through a chain link fence, to an deserted bank of the lake where we asked a few questions of our "guide" before be escorted back up the path without having seen much of anything but moss. We were discouragingly told that the flamingos are there infrequently and only in the morning. Upon returning to the lodge and paying for our tour, several of the staff suppressed giggles as we were all aware that we had been had.

This property is set up in a serene environment with lots of space to play with. Having stayed for a single night on a business trip, my experience was that it serves well for a business retreat, but not a holiday getaway.

The rooms are adequate. The food average. The conference facilities acceptable. All especially at their rates.

Still, I had the nagging feeling that everything could be improved. The meeting rooms feel like they haven't been upgraded in at least ten years (mismatched furniture and threadbare carpet), restaurant decor is rather tacky as is the case with hotel rooms.

The staff were a varied lot; some are very upbeat while others seem stuck in time.

This place has lots of potential. With some renovations, staff hospitality training it would give other institutions a run for their money.
