Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited the hotel with my colleague during this Covid 19 era..first the thermometer was faulty ..I was 33.5..the rooms were dirty and dusty and clearly were not sanitised for a long time..the sheets were soiled and we kept on changing rooms...the security guard is the acting housekeeper so he interacts with everything and does not sanitise..very risky situation... everything about this hotel is horrible and I would not recommend it to anyone who wants to be safe!!

the place is about 1 KM out of town but is accessible by taxi or motorbike. it is quiet and ambience is good. the rooms are also reasonably big and good. i enjoyed their breakfast, the variety was wide from lots of different fruits to real food hence you may not need to eat for the better part of the day.

In all fairness, this is a nice enough budget hotel for what you pay, right in town near the park. But the most important thing - the one thing that we would have liked to have known prior to our overnight stay - is that the outside motorcycle and music noise is incessant. It is loud (at least from our room it was) and it is all through the night and early morning. The hotel must address this and sound proof the rooms as a priority. This is the one major criticism that we have and the main reason we could not recommend this hotel to others. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable enough and the wifi was okay. The bathrooms are in need of upgrade/renovation. The buffet selection at the restaurant was mediocre at best, and the staff were friendly but a little overbearing (eg following us to the buffet, or standing right over us after giving us a menu and not giving us a moment to decide for ourselves).

Stayed a night at the hotel and was very disappointed. Most of the things listed on their description are either mediocre or not available. No air conditioning in the deluxe room we got. Cold shower. WiFi was a struggle; disconnecting every few minutes. Went for dinner at their restaurant and the 30 minutes given wait time turned into almost an hour of waiting! We had to go find food elsewhere at 10pm. Breakfast was basic with only a few options and on check out there's no official ETR receipt. I wouldn't recommend staying here. There are better options nearer to the town that we unfortunately found out about too late after we had already booked this one.

Hotel is good. Clean and conformable with friendly staff. The restaurant staff were extra nice and the food was good. Was immediately moved to a beter room when I told them a few items in the room were not working. Overall, a great hotel for a visit to Nakuru.

Chester Hotel has never disappointed me...Since 2014, the County Assembly has partnered with the establishment majorly for conferencing...I was fortunate to meet the Director who is friendly and social. The staff are professional and the meals are sumptuous. i would recommend Chester Hotel for all your conferencing needs.

We stayed at Chester Hotel for one night enroute to Lake Nakuru, it is closeby so makes a good place to stay if you want to get there early. It is a budget hotel, so you get what you pay for. Our first room was dirty but the staff were very quick to apologise and give us another room straight away. The dinner menu was fantastic, so much variety and freshly cooked for us on the spot. Staff are very welcoming and friendly!

This is an average hotel and ok value if you are just looking to stay one night in the city. We unfortunately got our wallet emptied during the dinner buffet which of course turned this into a stay we'd like to forget about. Please be aware that there are people on premise that are not guests of the hotel and keep a eye on your valuables at all times. Unfortunately, neither we nor the hotel staff did pick up on the strange behavior of the thieves until after it was too late. I'd like to point out that the hotel staff tried their best after the theft to make us feel better. They did offer to let us stay for free the next time we are in town (not sure how many times I will visit lake Nakuru in my lifetime but once is probably most likely).

Hi Tom we are sorry about the incident that happened while you were at the hotel. Like we explained that was an isolated incident and the first in the Hotel in the 14 years of operation. The restaurant has always been open to resident and non resident guests in that time period. Once again we apologize for the unfortunate incidence and assure you that more security measures have been put in place to make sure it never happens again.
