Most hotels in Kalaw are beautiful including this one. The rooms unbelievably spacious and every rooms have balcony where you can look for sunrise. The hotel have a nice size heated indoor swimming pool but seem like no one bother using it as I saw no one go there. During my stay, they are doing some construction work near swimming pool for further improvement. Staffs are very willing to help (especially at their restaurant). I would stay here again if I ever visit Kalaw next time.

The staff are the real foundation on which this hotel stands out from the others we have stayed in. A warm welcome despite having no reservation, we were greeted with the utmost hospitality.

On arrival we had been suffering with a sickness bug for a couple of the days. The staff were extremely understanding and gave us everything we required yet allowed us our own space.

We were brought complimentary drinks in the foyer and allowed to view our room before confirming our stay.

The staff were very clear on being able to attend to our every need. On reception Zar Chi dealt with our booking efficiently and with a friendly, helpful attitude. Ko Soe saw that we were happy with our room and brought us fresh towels and water in the morning. The bar man Scott was around the same age as us and made wonderful, fresh smoothies, quickly whenever we desired. The restaurant manager Ko Pyae or as he introduces himself "Louis" is a real star. Louis is attentive, explaining the menu and the food/ drinks at both breakfast and dinner.

All the staff are really friendly and smiley. Louis in particular provided us with everything we needed to know with regard to Myanmar. He organised for a guide to come to the hotel and chat to us about our ideas of trekking to Lake Inle. The guides prices were similar to others we had quoted in town, and we felt confidence from Louis in the guide in a non-pushy way.

As it is low season the hotel was very quiet. Once we were feeling a little better we were able to stay in the restaurant in the evenings. We had a great time speaking with Louis, Scott and Zar Chi. They really did make our stay special.

Not only are the staff wonderful but the room itself is can not be faulted. The quality of the linen and bathroom fittings is excellent. I enjoyed a hot shower in the cleanly, spacious bathroom whilst my friend relaxed in front of the TV which provided American films (HBO), Cartoon Network, Discovery Channel, BBC News and some local channels.

The hotel is located a 20 minute walk out of town near to the Shwe oo min paya (Buddha caves). There is a driving range although this was a running joke for us as the grass was really long during our stay. The views from the hotel are breathtaking. Standing out on the balcony you can hear the wildlife, the bird song is beautiful and the sound of local dogs barking is rare. We also stayed in a hotel at the base of the hill and it was much less peaceful down there.

Being a modern building you feel totally cosy during the monsoon rains and are able to control the temperature and humidity of the room effectively using the air-conditioning.

There is a mini-fridge with fizzy drinks and water, as well as complimentary coffee in the room. Being British we prefer tea and found that we could ask for teabags in the restaurant or for a cuppa to be made to take up to our room.

There is a hairdryer provided and all the usual soaps/ shower caps/ combs etc. The rooms are clean, no mosquitoes inside and no other insects. The place is immaculate. Highly recommend for a relaxing stay, at least in low season.

Perhaps in high season the foyer would be a bit noisier which might carry in to the rooms.

The food in the restaurant is generally good. The Green curry was tasty and plenty big enough portion, a decent example of Asian food for 4500 kyat. The chicken burger was reconstituted and I wouldn't recommend (only ordered a plain meal due to sore tummy).

The breakfast is simple; cornflakes, toast, jam and bananas. There is also a menu where you can order eggs/ tomatoes etc. The scrambled egg portion was a good size. Again the restaurant staff were attentive filling our water and providing tea and more toast whenever necessary.

The hotel is a little pricey, especially for low season. However for a few extra dollars it's worth it for a carefree stay. A swimming pool and this place would be perfect (but then that's not what we came for anyway).

Only thing that could be improved possibly is the food; perhaps some watermelon/ pineapple at breakfast. Ice-cream desserts and separate sauce on the burgers. Everything was hot and arrived quickly after ordering. As we were ill on arrival I really can't be too harsh on the kitchen for our small sample size.

The hotel looks exactly as their photographs show it!

Really, I am a little perplexed by the rave reviews.

Here are my thoughts:

This to me is 2 star Hotel. Views not great, rooms ok but with ridiculous rain shower next to the toilet! Everything is wet.
Did not feel like a new Hotel at all - starting to look quite scruffy in parts.

Mattresses stored on two floors next to lifts they were there for the 2 full days we were there.

Breakfast not great. First day buffet Western breakfast was fried eggs and white sweetened bread.
Un-drinkable coffee served and then when we saw they had a coffee machine ordered 2 decent coffees were charged extra- ok!

At times communication was difficult when the manager was not there.

Good quality bikes to take out free of charge.

As always from our experience in Myanmar everyone is kind and tries to be helpful.

Did not eat at the restaurant other than breakfast.
Felt perhaps it was more geared towards larger groups- could be wrong.

Rooms are neat, tidy and spacious. Each room has a balcony with picturesque scenery surrounded by golf range and mountains. Very good breakfast, variety of choices. Staffs are so friendly and helpful. Besides, indoor warm-watered pool and jacuzzi are amazing. I'm confident AF that 360 Kalaw is the best one in town.

Hotel place is not in downtown but nice. I love the price eventhough in special occasions period. Room also clean and have a space for extra bed. Very comfortable. Only thing is breakfast needs to improve. I heard that hotel is JV with one of local brand restaurant; name as Feel, hence service is as usual. Order taking so long eventhough in breakfast time. Time also 06:30 to 9:00am. That is not comfortable on weekends and special public holidays. Better to change until 10:00 am. The rest is perfect stay.

We love the look of the hotel and their deco were quite chic. This new hotel is located in a hideaway place on a small hill, yet quite close to city centre about 5-10 mins drive. But the small lane up the hotel compound was very dark at night, so for our dinner, we had to get a taxi to citycentre which costed MMK 10,000 for return trip. The rooms are spacious with plenty of natural light and comfortable. They have air conditioner with heat mode which was very nice to have in a room during the weather like 14'C. We saw a outdoor pool being built, but not sure it will be heated one when finish. Staff are quite friendly. Breakfast was quite limited but ok.
