That is the 2nd time to stay at there after 3 years apart but still having the best service , good staff , pleasant view & so on. It is more than enough as per their room rate and staying at bungalow type with less amount . Even though they can't provide breakfast , they can service to buy to you what to want to eat in every morning . As the conclusions , it is worth to stay at Morning Glory in my vacation period & still remembering the memorable moment for every signal day. I can promise that I will stay again at there when I have a chance to come to Kalaw again.

We stayed here for two nights with our kids and really enjoyed the location with it's nice garden and quiet spot. It's a bit out of town but with a 15 minutes walk you are there. Basic but clean rooms and great breakfast. They made gluten-free pancakes for my son who has coeliac desease so that was super kind.

MGI is a collection of bungalows spread around a garden below a colonial era house. It's a 20 minute walk to the central market down a village road. The bungalows are clean, newly painted, lots of hot water for a bath, $35, without heating but you can just ask reception and they'll give you an electric heater. Breakfast is no-choice (rotating between pancakes and eggs/toast) but I liked it and there was plenty of. The staff are very friendly. I arrived at 4am and paid only $5 to go straight into a room. For the price, you get the out-of-town colonial-feel but no thrills for a price that's about 30% cheaper.

My group of five had the most wonderful experience at Morning Glory Inn! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was the most hospitable I’ve ever met! They made sure that we were well taken care of for the five nights we stayed in Kalaw. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely make another reservation when we return this time next year.

This was truly one of the best places I have stayed. The owner and her entire staff were very accommodating and gracious. They provided prompt and friendly service every single day.

The food served for breakfast was delicious and came in abundance so bring an empty stomach!

The rooms were a nice size and had a quaint porch with a beautiful view!

Also, just as an example of their hospitality they provided us umbrellas a few times when the rain started to pour! So kind. :)

I would highly, highly recommend that you stay here!

Set in the midst of a beautiful field of flowers on the mountainside, the Morning Glory Inn was a nice retreat in a natural environment. The cabins have porches where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. A hot shower was a great way to wake up on the cool mornings, and the room was supplied with hair dryer, mini fridge, hot water pot and other necessities. One of the best things though about the Morning Glory Inn was the delicious breakfast they served each morning. I will definitely return to the Morning Glory Inn on the next visit to Kalaw.

A beautiful walk out of the center, across the river and rail road track towards the hills lays Morning Glory Inn. We arrived at night by night bus, had a tea at the tea shop across the bus stop and walked to the hotel arriving around 6 in the morning. The staff was already awake, helped us with our bags and gave us the option to have breakfast and check in early. The houses are located in a beautiful garden with a nice view over the surroundings. The rooms are spacious. In front of each house is a lovely spatio with comfy chairs to relax.

We stayed there for 3 Nights. It was a great time staying there and chilling under private bunglows and their avocado trees. Location is quite far (around 25 mins walk) from city center such as Kalaw Markets, BBQ Grill, Tea shop but OK for the person who likes to stay in quiet place.
But one thing that i don't like is the bathroom. It can be said clean but shower is not good enough to take bath. I would like to suggest to upgrade the bathroom.
Breakfast is good.

We stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed it immensely.

Firstly the rooms, very new and clean and the beds are comfortable. Hot showers worked well. It was very cold when we went, and the rooms have nice big blankets to put over the beds, and you could get little heaters available from reception.

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, with lovely views of the Shan country side. Very peaceful and quiet.

Breakfast wasn't bad, but you have to ask for what you want. Our first morning we let the girls just bring out the breakfast which was less than impressive (fried bananas and some pancakes). We learnt that the chef was happy to make eggs any way you want.
The breakfast room and reception area is nice in the evening to have a glass of wine. Again this isn't advertised or written anywhere, you just have to ask. It was relatively cheap and drinkable box wine but suited our needs.

Location wise the hotel is good as well. You can easily walk into 'downtown' Kalaw, we however rented scooters which the reception were very happy to help arrange for only 10,000/day.

This leads me to the staff here. Everyone is incredibly helpful. The reception especially helped organise everything for us including all the car trips (including our car journey to and from Yangon). When we left the hotel one of the boys working there climbed up one of the avocado trees and picked us nearly 20 avocados to bring back to Yangon!

Another pointer is that you have to ask for your room to be made up each day. They do a great job, but you do seem to need to 'opt in' for this service.

We only planned a one night stay in Kalaw, before trekking to Inle. Next time we come to Myanmar (we will be back) we will stay longer and will choose the Morning Glory again. We had excellent email communication with the hotel before we arrived and the check in was super-efficient.

We took a taxi from where the bus from Bagan dropped us on the main road – it’s maybe a 15 minute walk but we had luggage and didn’t know the way. We certainly overpaid for the taxi at 5000 kyat, but we were 4 people so no big deal. The location is really nice – kind of on the edge of town and almost surrounded by woods and fields. With the added bonus, if you’re trekking to Inle, you can start from this hotel and you’re already part of the way there – no need to go back in to town.

One point: if you’re in Kalaw in peak season – November to January – bring warm clothes. The elevation is 1320 m and it gets cold at night. Maybe not cold by European standards but cold enough for us to wish we had jumpers.

The rooms and bathrooms were great and we enjoyed a couple of beers in the restaurant in the evening. We had thought about drinking on the terrace – but it gets pretty cold in them that hills in December so we were happy to retreat inside. We walked in to town in the afternoon to browse the interesting market, and back again in the evening for dinner. Breakfast at the hotel was slightly disappointing. I think we were the only western guests, all the others were Asian, and they all got what looked like a really nice Asian breakfast with rice while we were served pancakes – we would have preferred rice! But definitely not complaining. This is an excellent hotel in a great location with super nice staff. We hope to be back.
