My wife & I chose Murol as the centre for a week of walking in the area of extinct volcanic peaks (puys) and stayed at the Hotel des Pins on half board. The hotel is situated in a quiet spot away from the main road through the village - a road which can be busy. Everything was clean and towels were changed daily. The evening three course meal on half board was fixed (no choice) however each evening each meal was totally different and of excellent quality. Breakfast was a little thin. Few people speak English in the area. I had to visit the local doctor who could not speak more than a few words in English. Imagine explaining that you have... More

We stayed here on the way back home at it was about half way from our Alpine location. The hotel as plenty of character and history but appears warn and faded. The rooms were clean but small. The food was dreadfull. The evening meal was bad but the breakfast was stale bread and average coffee. The village of Murol is picturesque and beautiful with small bars and resaurants.
Although ideally situated the hotel is far from ideal
