Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is so staggeringly beautiful: from being situated on a hillside overlooking a medieval village, to the warm welcome from the hosts and the charming interior of the apartment, this place was just perfect!

What a wonderful place to spend a week. Up in the hills of the Valleriana and next to the capital village is Cada Verde. I just went for lunch with friends. But I can see the attraction for holiday makers. Resting in the verdant hills of Tuscany you are not far from Pisa, Florence, the sea and mountains. I well recommended a visit.

A fantastic apartment in a fantastic location! Darren and Malcolm are the best hosts, extremely considerate and there if needed but also very unobtrusive. We could not have felt more welcome. We really enloyed the attractions of the region, but the highlight every day was coming back to Casa Verde and 'that view'. If you are looking for a very special break in this area and if Casa Verde is available, book it, you won't be disappointed.

This is our second trip to Casa Verde and if anything, it's better than last time. The views, of course, remain to die for with a wonderful vista across the valley to Medicini nestling on the far hillside. However since our last visit the terrace has been renovated and the driveway re-laid. Darren and Malcolm were, as ever, the consummate hosts and it was a pleasure to again meet the charming Mrs Pellegrini next door. We enjoyed trips out to Pescia (the little cabin by the river has excellent ice-cream), Lucca and Fiesoli to see the Etruscan remains. A super week - we would thoroughly recommend it!

My stay at Casa Verde is so amazing that it is hard to describe. Simply said, it is a slice of heaven. I used it as a base to explore the area, and it was so splendid that one day I cancelled my discovery plans so that I could sit on the patio and revel in the beauty of it all. My only complaint is that I didn’t have the foresight to stay longer. It is heaven. Thank you for the life memory. PS: the WiFi was reliable and fast, and the kitchen fully equipped. PPS: try the mojito gelato at the gelato stand in town!

I can't recommend the apartment at Casa Verde highly enough. Darren and Malcolm are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The directions to find the apartment were the best I have ever seen and when we arrived it is set in idyllic surroundings - all we could hear was bird song and the occasional neighbour doing works in their garden. Overlooking a valley in the Tuscan hills, this apartment is full of character. It has been beautifully renovated and thoughtfully equipped. Basic provisions were awaiting our arrival, including home-baked bread by Malcolm. We hope to be back again soon.

Casa Verde is a lovely apartment in the hill side village of Vellano. The apartment is well equipped, clean and comfortable, offering the most fantastic view across the countryside. The terrace is a wonderful place to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The location is ideal with much to do within an hour's drive. (Our favourite was the town of Lucca). The owners were superb in offering advice, helping with bookings etc. Nothing was too much trouble. We definitely plan to return.

Casa Verde in Vellano far exceeded our expectations of a quiet mountain retreat and home base for seeing Tuscany. The house provides stunning views-- every window is like a Renaissance painting. Authentic in its old- stone style, its comfort and privacy, lovely decor and convenience all combine to offer the home-away coziness we wanted. It's a lovely and beautifully designed home. Great kitchen, luxury bedding, TV, Wifi, perfect bathrooms with pristine, well appointed touches for practicality and safety. Above all, we were treated like family-- warmly welcomed, needs met without the slightest intrusion. We could have easily stayed on for weeks beyond our 6- day vacation.

We travelled from the UK with our car, 2 children and 2 small dogs. We made a gradual ascent up to Vellano from Pescia. Such a breathtaking drive. And such a breathtaking view once we arrived. Every day we were treated to breathtaking views of the hills, each day offering us a different mood and colour. The church bells are beautiful on a Sunday morning. We enjoyed our meals on the terrace, often feeling torn to leave the views to see areas of Tuscany. It is so so beautiful, from walks locally, to reaching beautiful towns such as Lucca, Montecarlo and Montecantini nearby. The apartment is well equipped and cosy, offering all the comforts of home. We had a lovely holiday. Darren and Malcolm were the perfect hosts, and we look forward very much to next holiday in Casa Verde. Thank you very much for a very memorable holiday.

The drive in is a bit tortuous, but upon arrival all is worth it. The hosts are the perfect combination of helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. They were a delight. There are two lovely older women living next door who were also delightful. The morning, afternoon, and evening views from the porch continued to be special day after day. The facility was clean and well kept. Spatially it handled 2 parents, their 2 children, and two grandparents very well. I am 6'6" and the doorways would not handle my height - even a 6-footer would have trouble with the bathroom doorways. However, I learned to duck, and I would go back because this place was so special. One other item - our two children were 2 & 5. Because of the steepness they could not be left alone. As long as your children are old enough to be left alone, this is an awesome facility. It was for us even with 2 small children.
