Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The airline I was travelling with had put us up here as it was responsible for us arriving late and missing our connection. Ended up having to stay here 3 days as there was no flight available. The room was quite basic and air conditioning was sub-optimal. It was still quite warm within the room.
TV selection was about the only good thing. The hot water worked but the water flow was really poor. Was only given a few vouchers of US$10.00 - 3 of them for my entire stay.
What I was really astonished by was the fact that my room and bed was not serviced at all. I did not receive any new towels, the bath was not cleaned and amenities were never replenished. I felt that maybe it was because I was being put up here by the airline - but still that is no excuse to provide a poor sanitary service.

Will never be staying back here again and will do my best to avoid visiting Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela in the future. There is nothing nice about these 2 countries!

I have stayed in this hotel number of times, because another option is Bel Air, which is disaster. If you have time, it's better to go Marriot or Crowne Plaza which are about 30 minutes from airport.

In 2006 room rate what I got has been USD225 plus some taxes alltogether around 250, robbery of 2 star hotel. I thought they are cheating the foreigner, told my wife (Trinidadian) to do the booking, but rate was same. Now they also charge USD 5 a trip for the airport shuttle.

Hotel is quite new and fulfill 2 star requirement, but everything else is poor. Obviously none of the personnel or management has never been in real hotel and dont have any idea what service should be.

- food is quite bad and service poor, even every visit the restaurant has been empty, they dont even have matches or lighter in bar
- every time I have to ask front desk about the bill and then she asks: Ooh, do you need an receipt? and then write you little receipt without any breakdown, not to mention any that there is no VAT number which is charged anyway
- one time they forgot to make an wake-up call, we almost missed the flight
- 9:30 PM somebody decided to start an construction work with jackhammer
- one room had very noisy ac and no remote control it

With a rate around 80 bucks and professional staff/management this could be an OK hotel.

My husband and I were forced to overnight in Trinidad due to a flight delay, after making a big fuss about going to a hotel in Port Of Spain we were put up at the this hotel by the Airline.

I must say that on our arrival there we were quite impressed, the staff was friendly and helpful even dealing with our absolute hunger by allowing the restaurant to stay open for an extra three quarts of an hour for us to eat. The room was clean, and nicely decorated and comfortable.

It was very convenient as in proximity to the airport, that was great since we did not have to leave until about five minutes before our check in time - yea, their that close!!

Good Food, Friendly Service, Convenient, overall thumbs Up!!!

See you guys again, this time deliberate!

This place should be shut down. Do not stay at this hotel. My girlfriend and I had to overnight in Trinidad and we chose this place. We got there approximately 12:15 am as our flight was delayed. When we got to the room I did my usual checks and found that the shower area was dirty. To my great shock, I found what seemed like pubic hair in the bathtub. Naturally, I went to complain and I was given the keys to another room. I went straight to the bathroom and found more hair in the shower area. The attendant insisted that I tried another room and I obliged. I FOUND HAIR IN THE SHOWER AREA AGAIN. No matter the time, we could not stay there!!! This place is overpriced and dirty!!!! To make matters worse the attendant asked me for my telephone number (which I had included in their very intrusive form), under the pretext that a manager would contact me. Given that it was so late in the night and I had to catch another flight soon, I was baffled as to when this manager would contact me. We left!!!!!!!

I came to stay at Piarco Int'l hotel on Boxing Day on my way back to Houston, TX from vacationing in Tobago and the following occurred:

1) The website said US$80 but their rates were US$85;

2) The rooms were dark, and not up to par to charge $85;

3) I came with my wife and 13 month old baby and the bathroom was nasty and the air-conditioning didn't work and it was extremely hot;

4) After I expressed my disgust, I was shown 3 other rooms each of which the bathroom had hair around the toilet seat and the room smelled AWFUL;

5) They said that they "couldn't give me a refund" at the front desk, so now I will dispute the charge with my credit card company;

6) I was Told that the hotel is already sold to a Minister of government and is going to close down shortly. DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME RESERVING A ROOM AT THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR A HOTEL!!

The ONLY thing nice about my "stay" was the fact that a hotel worker admitted that the service was poor and that there was only ONE person hired for cleaning close to 100 rooms!! Plus he suggested their neighboring property that was better.

Again I hope that you see my review and don't waste your time!!

The previous review says it all. I was forced to stay here by Caribbean Airlines are they cancelled my flight last weekend. The staff are unhelpful but then again they are working in a dump and are bombarded with complaints!! It is dingy dirty and no amenities - have no right being called either a hotel or international. I must admit to being very scared at night and event the other Bars and restaurants close by are somewhat suspect!! Never again and I will be seeking compensation.
I was given US$30.00 by CAL for dinner. On arrival at the restaurant I was told that is the equivalent of US20.00 when the tax and service charge are removed: That got me a bacon cheesburger and not even a soft drink!! A coke if TT 18.00 ( US$3.00) and a beer is TT 20.00 (US $3.30)
My advice - pay the US$20.00 for the VIP lounge and sleep there!!!

We stayed because we missed our flight and couldn't get any other rooms. Hotel staff are rude and will stare at you as if you are a thief when walking in and out. We checked in with the day staff. When we came in after dinner the night staff was there and questioned me and wanted proof that we were guests.

All they can do is open the door for you but won't help with your luggage. The females behind the desks look at you and will talk about you - IN FRONT of you.

You only get one towel so you will have to ask for more. The drains in the showers do not work properly. There was an odd smell in the room. Not worth the $. If you really must though - check the room before you commit.

We were at this hotel due to a cancelled flight of the world's worst airline, Aeropostal. The service was incredibly unfriendly. Rooms were stinking. A/C didn't work. Breakfast was inedible.

In sum, avoid at any rate.

My partner and I had a very good stay. The shuttle service was on time and security on the premises was impressive unlike many other hotels in Trinidad. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were quite impressed that the hotel had a bar with cocktails which complemented their wide selection of food. I was very satisfied with my overall stay. The only downfall was that there was no beaches close by. However they are an airport hotel with very good standards and would rate them much higher that any of the other hotel in the surroundings.

Trinidad needs to take this Hotel off its list, it is truly a dump, the food was terrible, the bathroom would not flush, I was afraid to take a shower, scared I would be infected with something, was put up there by liat airlines,next time let me take my chances and sleep in the streets of Trinidad. Please fire that cook, that is not food worse place in all of the world to stay, take a look at the bathroom outside the Restaurant, thee clerk directed me too before the Room was ready to change a baby diaper, I wouldn't let my dog go in there completely disgusting. CLOSE THIS HOTEL DOWN.
