This unspoilt stately home has been renovated to a very high standard by a private family, so there is nothing corporate or clinical ! The food is exceptional in the lavish restaurant. We stayed for one night with breakfast, again, this was great. Staff are extremely welcoming. As the weather was so wet we did the audio tour of the house, which gave an insight to the renovations and history of the house. We stayed in a slightly larger than standard room which was lovely with everything you need. I would really recommend Hawkstone Hall, as a little gem in the north of shropshire.

We have visited Hawkstone Hall a few times with friends and wanted to treat my mother in law to afternoon tea. As always the service, food and atmosphere was second to none. The staff were very attentive and could not do enough for us. A massive thank you to all at Hawkstone for making our afternoon so special. We are already planning our next visit!

Beautiful place - went for afternoon tea - excellent and the staff were very very helpful Josh looked after us in every way. Cannot fault the service or the`food. The entrance driveway is slightly misleading - there is a gate which is controlled from the Hall by an intercom which at fierst is not obvious.

From the moment we arrived we were looked after by the fantastic staff. We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco and the lovely lady on reception told us the history of the house. It is breathtaking, every room is beautiful but still feels comfortable and homely. We enjoyed some drinks in the Snug and I took the audio tour. Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and hope to return.

Our visit exceeded all expectations. The building is a stunning example of period architecture set in a glorious landscape with amazing views. The restoration has been done with great care and attention to detail, the rooms take your breath away. I have visited scores of historic houses but Hawkstone Hall is probably the best example of how internal repair and decoration can capture the spirit of place and lift the spirit. We visited for the audio tour and light lunch and were utterly charmed by the hall and the staff. Food was outstanding.

A beautiful stately house set in beautiful countryside. The snug is so relaxing with a log fire and comfy seating. We stayed over in a beautiful double room x 2 with our friends. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed so comfy. Elemis toiletries and soft towels with bathrobe and slippers. The food is delicious and well presented. En-suite shower room with countryside views. Service excellent. Relaxation 100%. Lovely breakfast and menu choice. Every room on the ground floor is beautifully decorated. The gardens are extensive with lakes, mature trees and shrubs . There is a gym but we were there to relax. William greeted us upon arrival with bubbles and chatted for about half an hour to make sure we were welcomed and familiar with the surroundings.

We recently spent 3 wonderful nights at Hawkstone Hall. We were not disappointed . We were welcomed with a glass of fizz, whilst our bags were taken to our room. Our room was beautiful with lovely views over the garden. We had access to the pantry, which we enjoyed visiting. During our stay we didn’t dine but did order food from the Hills Kitchen menu which we thoroughly enjoyed. We spent a lovely evening down in the cave, watching a movie and playing games. Breakfast each morning was first class, good selection to choose from. The staff were very friendly, informative and professional at all times. But I need to mention Megan, who after finding out I adore donkeys, invited me along to walk the two donkeys, Jasmine and Ellie with herself after her shift had finished. It made my day/stay. We will definitely be returning in the future . Thanks for a lovely stay.

Went for 3 course lunch with my daughter, impressive place, beautiful, feels rich in heritage. We were warmly greeted, shown to our table. I agree with other reviews, the chairs are too low for the table, I rolled my coat up and sat on it and the table wobbled, but that was wedged for us. Drinks and food order taken promptly. There seemed to be 3 members of staff on, we were served our starter and main course and the food was really great. I Had to leave the room to request salt and pepper, we were not offered mustard or horseradish for our roast beef main. After we’d finished our main, the staff disappeared! I sat with an empty glass and dirty plates for 25 minutes, then decided to have a wonder to find someone, another lady was doing the same trying to get a drink. There wasn’t anyone behind the bar either, felt like they’d all gone home. When we finally got a drink and ordered desserts, we were told that they didn’t have what we’d ordered. Shame, with a more consistent service and a few minor tweaks could have been rated highly.

Dear Breeze-family, please accept our apologies for your stilted service, we endeavour to achieve the best service possible to our guests on this occasion we sadly fell a little short. I have spoken to the members of the team on duty that day and whilst they acknowledge there was an issue with the desserts ordered sadly no other issue were brought up at that time. Feedback is always important and I thank you for bringing this to my attention. As you mentioned our chairs are low and I am pleased to let you know we are expecting a delivery of new Saloon chairs very soon. Condiments are not on tables as our chefs season whilst cooking however as this is personal preference we are happy to leave salt & pepper on the tables in the future. If you wish to discuss this further please email angela@hawkstonehall.co.uk

Superb staff, rooms, food and atmosphere. We stayed for one night to break up a trip to north wales. The drive to the house was along a single track and then as you rounded a bend at the top of a small incline you get the view of the halls. Wonderful. We were met in reception by Megan who was absolutely brimming with positive energy, very friendly and incredibly helpful. Our room was amazing, well appointed and as we found out later, with the best pillows ever. Dinner was delicious. Some of the best beef fillet we have had anywhere and the scallops were also mouth watering. Amazing cookery. Our waiter was a chap called Josh who was so attentive, charming and like everyone else, very professional. Before dinner we took a walk in the grounds and bumped into two groundsmen, who like the rest of the team, were a delight to meet and have a chat with. They even helped us out with questions on our plants at home. Breakfast was (again) delicious and the lady running breakfast was very smiley, attentive and professional. We booked randomly and it has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed at. I'm not sure we've ever stayed at any hotel where, without exception, the team were so friendly, so positive and so good at the jobs - across the board. Worth noting that there was no wedding going on when we stayed so it felt as if we almost had a stately home to ourselves. Amazing experience. Thanks to all the team there!

I went to Hawkstone Hall and Gardens with my husband for afternoon tea. It felt very special approaching via the long drive and there was plenty of parking. Shown into the morning room, start times were staggered so the service we received felt personalised. Then shown into the dining room and were served by white gloved staff, impeccable service, comfortable seating, beautiful food and all in a stunning setting inside and out. What more could you want! We were also able to walk around the hall and gardens afterwards. The best afternoon tea I’ve had by far, and I regularly try different venues. I would highly recommend and will both visit again and buy it as a gift for friends and family to experience. Thank you to all the team for making our afternoon so special.
