Just back from a 3 night stay at The Schoolhouse. We booked all the rooms as we were there for a family wedding at Eilean Donan Castle so the location was just perfect! The 'provisions for a light breakfast' was more than we expected...home made muffins, bread, cereals, milk, nice coffee etc...everything we needed....and very well equipped should you wish...

There are 4 very clean, comfortable double rooms with a lovely view over the loch, all sharing a communal kitchen, with plenty of seating, to make your own breakfast or other meals. Great for people who don't like fixed breakfast times, or like to make their own porridge. Cereals, bread, milk etc are all provided. Mary the owner lives next...

This was by far the best stay during our 16-night travels through Scotland. I can't recommend the Schoolhouse enough.

Travelled to Dornie with 4 friends for a friend's birthday, who lives locally, she hooked us up with the accommodation, which happened to be next door to her house. It was fabulous, big self catering style kitchen, everything easy to find! plenty of room, well decorated, great facilities. Our rooms were bright and airy, we had the run of the...

Wonderful location, excellent room and great arrangement for breakfast - help yourself in a separate kitchen/dining area. Handy pub about 100 yds away for good pub food. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

We found the School House to be great value and perfectly comfortable. You get the full use of the kitchen where you look after yourself. This can be great if you want to cook your owner dinner as options are limited in Dornie. Mary who hosts the B&B is very helpful and friendly and offered tips and assistance even before...

My wife and two boys and I stayed for a night in April and we absolutely loved it. What an incredible value! Mary made us all feel so welcome, and the schoolhouse is utterly charming and inviting, just like the village itself. In fact we took more photos in Dornie that anywhere else during our nine days traveling around Scotland....

Our second perfect stay at The Schoolhouse, again with a group of two ( one French, one Franco-Scottish) families. Fantastic accommodation : spotlessly clean and comfortable as they come. Decoration is bright and understated, which is a refreshing change from many B&Bs: not a hint of chintz, satin or twee 'Scottish'. Some great books in the hallway too. Wonderful views...
