Chris is a warm, charming and welcoming host, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious and filling. The bed was very comfortable and (unusually, as I don't tend to sleep too well in unfamiliar places) I found myself getting a solid 8 hours in and woke well refreshed. This guesthouse should be rated #1 for Balmacara. Thanks Chris for making my stay so welcoming and relaxing :)

We booked in for 2 nights and ended up staying for 3. This is a lovely, fresh and clean b&b with fantastic showers and views over the loch to Skye. The hosts were great, they are friendly and helpful with local information.

After a long drive the room was a pleasant resting place. Very clean and tidy. The breakfast was superb and the whole accommodation couldn’t be faulted. Highly recommended. The hosts were welcoming and helpful even booking a restaurant in advance for us.

Arriving late at Balmacara, with nothing booked, we knocked on the door of the Old Post Office House when we spotted a 'vacancy' sign. Ushered to a spotless, comfortable room, with friendliness and no fuss, we passed an excellent night. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. The attention to detail included such things as snuggly blankets on the armchairs, real ground coffee and cafetieres in the room, great cooked breakfast in sun room overlooking garden and loch.... and a splendid view of the loch from our window. Highly recommended!
