Kintail Lodge Hotel is your home away from home in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. We have recently completed a refurbishment programme to restore the hotel to its former glory with some new additions. The hotel has a waterfront position at the head of Loch Duich and our entrance and reception rooms have far reaching views down the Loch and over the surrounding hills. Weather permitting, you can enjoy an amazing sunset where the light combination is special to this area. Most of our bedrooms have views over the Loch and you can enjoy breakfast in our Main Room which overlooks the garden and the Loch. Our garden has a children’s play area and your dogs can let off some steam. Our evening meals are served in our Highland Pub which is popular with both locals and visitors and offers a varied menu with homemade, locally sourced produce. Vegetarian and Vegan options are also available. We can accommodate weddings of up to 50 people and meetings up to 30 people in the Main Room. Our Wee Bun House Grab and Go is open Monday to Friday mornings to early afternoon and we have ample parking and a E-charging point. We also have 3 free visitor moorings if you are coming by sea to climb the famous Five Sisters.

Detailed Reviews
An impromptu dinner with excellent friendly and efficient service. We sat in the bar area and had great ‘homely’ and delicious food. My partner had the steak pie and I had the burger. Couldn’t fault it We will return when we’re in the area again

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and our chefs Gavin and Siobhan really happy that you enjoyed your meals. They have worked super hard in very tough circumstances this year and never stopped focusing on producing the highest quality food. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Glenshiel.

Visited with a friend for a much needed break, rooms, staff, location and especially the food all superb. Easily the best food I've had anywhere. Staff very helpful and cheery. Location and scenery couldn't be better. I'll definitely be back.

Wonderful hotel and location. Stunning loch side views and Helen and the team made us feel very welcome.
Food was excellent and the bar service was second to none.
Already looking forward to staying there again, as we have some unfinished business with the surrounding mountains.

We stayed in Ratagan for the week. We ate here twice. Food was excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful. They are dog friendly and provided a water bowl and plenty of claps for our dog. Will be back the next time we are in the area.

A brief 1 night stay as passing through. A bit tatty around the edges as builders were in - no TV but ok Wi-Fi. Good selection of wine and beer and quite tasty food.
Hopefully the renovations (and end of Covid restrictions) will allow some normality to return - but it does need some TLC.

Thank you for finding time to write a review and we are pleased that you seem to have enjoyed your stay. We have been clear that our works are still underway although we are finishing the car park this week and the builders will then be away so that we can be back to normal. We hope you will drop in when you are next passing so that you can see the end result.

Kintail Lodge is situated in a lovely location on the loch. The outdoor appearance is positive. The lounge and sitting room are comfortable and well decorated.
The room was a good size and clean but was in dire need of an update. Carpeting in the bathroom was 60ish, with no heater or shower, just a tub. Tired curtains. No clock or radio. They seemed to want to give some amenities, albeit very cheaply e.g. plastic cups instead of glasses, family size bottled soap and shampoo instead of individual bars, cheap TV, cheap hot water kettle.
Our room was over the kitchen and we heard kitchen noise very late. View from the 3 windows was overlooking laundry and exhaust fan from kitchen, without a glimpse of the beautiful mountains surrounding tha area.
Breakfast was very average.
We expected more since the lodge was one of the most expensive ones we had in Scotland and by far, the least desireable.
A poor value for the money.

We arrived at about 10 at night in January after a last minute change of plans.
We asked for a room and were told we'd be the only guests. We were shown a couple of rooms, both were very cold. We chose the one without the loch view, and also without the draughty fireplace.
We were assured the room would warm up quickly. It didn't. Normally that wouldn't bother me, but we had our 8 week old baby with us. Down in the bar several locals were getting tanked up with the hotel manager. We asked if there was any chance of a sandwhich - they offered us a bag of crisps.
At 11.00 the heating was switched off in the entire hotel, including our room. It was so cold that you could see your breath in the air. The baby was wrapped up in 3 blankets and in her carry cot, but we still felt the need to bring her into the bed under the duvet so we could keep her warm.
The next morning when asked whether we had had a good night we answered emphatically no, and explained why. Breakfast was served. It was okay but not up to the standard of a similarly priced room in Edinburgh.
Our room was supposed to be £85 for the night, which was very expensive for the standard of the room. But I was tired when we arrived and wasn't in the mood for haggling. After hearing our complaints she tried to charge us £75 for our horrible night. I said I'd give her £50 and not a penny more. She became very tight lipped, argumentative and unpleasant. I pointed this out to her which finally made her back off.
These people have absolutely no idea about customer service. The hotel is extremely poor value for money. Save yourself the trouble - carry on down the road towards Kyle and find yourself a decent place to stay.

A group of eight walkers visited the hotel on Easter Sunday, with a view to using it as a base for a future walk over the 5 Sisters of Kintail. It was 3pm and the board on the roadside clearly advertised "Food Served All Day". We hadn't eaten and were hungry. We trooped into the bar, I should point out that we were not in walking gear, having walked the ridge from Creag A Mhaim the previous day we were resting. The woman behind the bar said they were serving snacks and she would get us a menu. We proceeded to order 8 drinks at a cost of £15 something, the obnoxious barman took our money then announced that the kitchen was closed to prepare for the evening meals. One of the group pointed out that the sign outside said "Food served all day", however, no-one cared. We drank up and drove to the Cleunie Inn down the road where we were warmly welcomed, fed with delicious food from an extensive all-day menu and shown round the very comfortable rooms. Needless to say, this is where we will be staying.

Unfortunately the TVs in the rooms are still not working. Not sure when they will be back on.
Trying to remember- yes am sure they did - fixed in the bathroom
Apologies for the late response. Unfortunately we are fully booked on 11 August. To check availability please visit our website.
We are situated at the foot of the five sisters so you would end up a couple of hundred yards from our door. To start the walk you need to get a lift or take a bus or your car.
Yes we have two family rooms what dates were you thinking of?
