Casa Fajara is a womderful haven of peace and tranquility off the beaten track in the Western Algarve. We had a dreany time, weather was not perfect but good enough and due to the disaster that is Covid, we had the place and pool to ourselves! Special thanks to Nilsa and Thiago for looking after us so well, including providing the most amazing breakfasts. And to the ever friendly Lara who was forgiven for misplacing our booking - having inadvertently pushed it back to 2022! Thankfully the hotel was devoid of guests when we arrived, so finding a room was not an issue! Don't expect 5 star boutique hotel perfection - but do expect a genuinely wonderful home from home and staff willing to please. This hotel operates on mutual trust and respect- and is all the better for that

We spent two nights at the Casa Fajara. It is at the end of a dirt road off the main road in Carrapateira. The town is a walkable distance, but a bit far to do in the dark after dinner (we were there in winter). It was off season so there was no one else at the Casa when we arrived. No matter, we were warmly welcomed and settled into our nice, if a bit quirky, room. A bit later a couple through hikers arrived so we had some company. We loved the Casa Fajara. The grounds are wonderful, our reception was warm, the room had a great view (we chose one with a sitting room so we had a bit of space) and breakfast was quite good.

We arrived at the Casa Fahara tired and dusty after a five hour walk and found a beautiful oasis. The staff were cheerful and welcoming, the garden full of flowers and our room was large and comfortable with a lovely view of the pool. They even provided fresh herbs for the bath to ease our aching limbs. In early March the evenings were cool but under floor heating and log burning stoves kept the hotel cosy. I cant wait for a return visit.

Delightful location and well placed for the Atlantic coast beaches and walking trails. Lovely public areas and bedroom, superb food and incredibly helpful and friendly staff, not least securing a dentist appointment when I broke a tooth.

Very nice helpful staff, especially the Indian guys, great location, comfortable well equipped room, but the food was well below what would expect?deserve--there were 10 guests served a mean breakfast a pastry basket with the smallest croissants possible and only 3 ,muesli jar 1/4 full and a cereal sized bowl of scrambled eggs, for 10 people, dinner was expensive, and lacking in quality and choice, given that this hotel attracts walkers doing 10-15 Kms a day---where was the hot box with eggs/bacon/mushrooms ?,its nothing special, but a surprising penny pinching attitude by owners (presumably)
