I recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights
The online booking process was very straightforward
Check in was quick and efficient and we were in our room within 5 minutes of arrival.

The room was clean and well presented. For peace of mind during the pandemic I had taken anti-bac wipes to clean handles, light switches and flat surfaces but when I did this not one speck of dirt was collected reassuring me that the room had been thoroughly cleaned prior to arrival. All public areas also appeared to be very clean and well maintained.

The hotel has put in various Covid protocols such as staff not entering your room during your stay and this works well. Extra supplies of coffee, tea etc can be obtained at reception.

i felt safe in this environment and have in fact made a booking to return

We were forced to get emergency accommodation due to a house fire and the travel lodge was our closest hotel. The staff couldn't have been more cheerful or helpful. We had 4 weeks in here. The rooms were clean and modern. This was during Covid and so cleaning was only done once a week but I am sure they would have done it more often if we had requested it. The wifi worked but wasn't the greatest and unfortunately the normal restaurant was closed so we had the breakfast box containing Cornflakes, milk, pan au chocolate, flapjack and orange juice....for 30 days! A choice of cereals or juice would have been great and if the insurance hadn't been paying for it then I wouldn't have paid £6 a breakfast for this. All in all though it was pretty good and staff were great.

Located next to a Costa and TGI Fridays with a petrol station next to Costa, which is ideal for snacks . About 1 mins drive to the Motorway and 15-20 mins walk to Sale shops which includes Sainsburys , Tesco , Greggs etc . Dane Road metro link is 10 mins walk away which is a cheap way of getting to Trafford Shopping Centre and the City Centre . Travelodge room was spacious, clean and bed was comfortable. Free Parking , as long as you register your vehicle at reception and park in T or T/C marked spaces. TV picture quality was great . The shower was decent but the floor in the bathroom of room 103 was very spongy, probably due to a water leak recently . Also , the shower gel from the dispenser in the shower smelled of rotten eggs/ sulphur . Both of these were reported when we checked out at reception. We didn't have breakfast as it cost £100 for one night's stay and we couldn't justify spending another £17 on top .

I thought with a Travelodge I couldn’t go wrong, but it was a mistake staying here.
I was met by Mo on the reception who is friendly and professional. She explained everything to me about staying in the hotel. Lovely lady.
It’s a pity then that the other staff I saw in the evening were not as accommodating. After eating out in the evening (I didn’t fancy the ping food on offer here), I passed two staff members who were sat speaking with either customers or locals (not sure which) whilst having a cigarette. When I went inside to the bar there was nobody to serve me (as they were outside). Not great customer service, as they knew I had gone into the reception/bar area. Mo came to my rescue to serve me but I did express my dissatisfaction that there were staff outside fagging it. She said she thought one of them had finished their shift but I guessed she was trying to mitigate the unprofessional behaviour of her colleagues. Both staff members had seen me arrive yet neither bothered to see if I needed to be served. It was only after taking my drink outside, after a few minutes, the barman got up to then collect empties taking them inside. Not off duty then! When I went back inside to go to my room, I believe the other staff member would have been the one coming o to night duty, as she was behind reception doing some ironing.
Anyway, the room I had was ok, in terms of space and facilities however the carpet and skirting boards were dirty so much so I went out to buy socks to wear when walking around the room. The shower appeared clean on the surface but the curtain was dingy, see pictures, and the shower tray and door threshold could do with some elbow grease. The shower and toilet appear to be extruded moulded plastic making it look more like a 1970’s caravan. Communal soaps make me cringe and the dispensers were dirty where the soap comes out.
The bed linen was clean and of decent quality. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The pillows were also comfortable.
Breakfast was ok but nothing to write home about.
Would I recommend? Not really. Will I stay here again? No. The only redeeming factor this place has is Mo.

Arrived one day early at hotel due to repatriation flight from Egypt. Although we had a booking for the Tuesday, at 1am on Monday morning all they said they could do is charge us another £39 for the room. Very understanding I thought during this difficult and worrying time.

Having been a regular customer of the hotel for over 3 years now, I really have to say it is the best travelodge I have stayed in and I have stayed in them all over the country.

I say it is the best partly because of the friendly staff that work here, Who go above and beyond for the customers especially Victoria who is always smiling and very friendly, courteous and polite, she is also very knowledgeable of the local area and has recommended to me in great detail the various fine dining establishments in and around Manchester that I will be attending once this lockdown ceases. (Even the hotel inspector Alex Polizzi would be most impressed with Victorias work ethic as she is always working relentlessly to better guests hotel experience).

Kirsty is also a great asset to the company and is always happy to help even early in the morning or late in the evening, her enthusiasm for the job is really a sight to behold.

The rooms of the hotel are immaculately kept and are spacious with the added extra of air conditioning which is ideal in the hot summer months.

I look forward to May 26th all being well the bar and restaurant of the hotel being re-open again and to experience some of great food on offer here.

I will continue to stay here while working in the area as I visit Manchester every few months as it is simply the best travelodge

Upon arriving at the Travelodge, Manchester, Jane met us with a warm smile and a very pleasant greeting. She very efficiently had us checked in and then told us about the breakfast and the cafe. Jane is so friendly and even asked us how we met, so we spent a few more minutes with her and had to tell her our love story.Jane is exactly the kind of person you want to deal with when you're checking into Travelodge.
We have stayed in Travelodges throughout England and in Ireland and this is one of the cleanest and so easy to get to from the airport. Even though Travelodge is not expensive it is always welcoming and you can depend on having coffee and tea in your room. They know what a traveller wants and needs.

During lockdown and the pandemic we are currently in, cleaning should be top of the list. Sadly in this hotel it appeared not to be as the amounts of dust around the room on main walls was alarming.

Other than that the hotel is ideally located for Manchester and not a a bad drive to the airport, but light sleepers id suggest a room at the back away from what is a main road out the front of the hotel.

Stayed for 2 weeks.
Staff were very friendly and loads of parking spaces to park.
Cleanliness let them down.
Towels were changed upon request but the room was not cleaned or the sheets changed even though I asked twice.
Asked to borrow and iron and board and the iron was missing parts and leaked so I couldn't use it.

We stayed over parklife weekend and I can happily say we picked the best hotel. Ideal location (only 10 min walk to the Altrincham - Bury tram line), lovely clean rooms and the staff were amazing despite being fully booked, in particular the night staff who were looking after everyone coming in during the early hours from the festival, no matter what the situation was. I would definitely be recommending this hotel to anyone who needs a place to stay within Manchester
