We needed to find somewhere to stay in March as was visiting family there following looking at houses to move to. We chose The Causeway as it had a high rating on Booking.com. We were not diappointed.

The welcome was friendly even though fleeting, but fine. The room we were given was in the building next to the main guesthouse. It was clean and had the amenities we required from a TV when we were not quite ready to sleep and a fan as it was one of the hottest days of the year! The en-suite was a bit tired and the shower tiles need re-grouting but overall fine.

The included breakfast was different size portions for the same cost but I guess you can only eat what you can eat, no more, no less! It was certainly tasty, although I wasn't a fan of the sausage, not meaty enough for me.

The proprietor was very friendly and made time to speak to us. The majority of the guests seem to be regular fisherman but we didn't see or hear them. We had a pleasant and relaxing stay. I would certainly book to stay here again if we needed somewhere to stay in March.

Because we were the parents of two of visiting couples we were awarded the biggest room with the biggest bed I've experienced in Europe. The room was warm on arrival well stocked with tea coffee, towels etc. Probably the best b&b we have stayed in, Managed by a gentle giant (problem was he was a United fan) atmosphere was wonderful as was the breakfast. Obviously genuinely freindly staff who were well trained happy staff means a good boss. I/we highly reccomend but you may well have a problem getting in, its that good. Big thank you from the elderly couple only young really born 1940

The bed was a good size, as was the room for 2 people, (however as we had a baby with us too it was a little cramped - but this is to no fault of the Guest House as we did not make them aware at the time as they didn't provide cots anyway - so if you are travelling with a baby, do let them know!).
Provided plenty of tea/coffee, plus additional facilities of a microwave and fridge/freezer in the landing area, which was ideal when travelling with a baby!
The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very friendly, all at a great price.
Provided basic toiletries, (could have done with a few more).
Do let them know if you have any allergens for breakfast in advance too, and they will accommodate.
The guest house is only a short walk down into town (about 5 minutes).
Definitely would recommend staying here!

I highly recommend staying in The Causeway Guest House. We opted for the duluxe double room and we were far from disappointed, the bed was MASSIVE!!! and the room was spacious too so it wasn't like they'd squeezed a large bed into a tiny room. Everything was clean and tidy and had a really nice comfortable feeling. Sometimes staying in places like this you find the rooms can be a bit like a house and rather hollow but we couldn't hear anything from the rooms around us which was a huge bonus. Staying here also has one very big benefit... Breakfast!!!! You have so much to choose from, from a extra large cooked breakfast (or small if you prefer) to cerials or Yogurt or just toast! There's so many options and it's all provided with the most incredible service. It's so lovely to stay in a place where the people working there actually care about the level of service they are providing. Thank you for a great stay!

I stayed for five nights when visiting friends in the area and was very pleased. The room and the public areas were spotlessly clean, the breakfast was delicious , all the staff were helpful and pleasant and I felt it was good value for money. When I asked for a change to be made in my room, the staff smiled - always a good sign - and then made sure it was done before I returned in the afternoon. The manager was very helpful and was certainly interested in his guests. Large car park behind the house. Overall, I would certainly recommend.

Comfortable, large, bed, nice sized room and good shower. Breakfast was excellent, I had the "small" breakfast which was a little too much for me, they also serve a large breakfast!! The staff were very pleasant and helpful and service at breakfast was with a smile, It is only a short walk to town, so very convenient.
Will definitely stay again.

Excellent value for money, our room was clean, tidy, functional with tea & coffee making facilities and TV. Breakfast was exceptional, there were three options for the English breakfast smaller, medium and very large plus a choice of yogurts, fruit and eggs etc.etc. There is also plenty of parking at the rear of the property.

This was my first time at this guesthouse. The first thing I noticed was that it is a nice looking place and plenty of parking space.
My room was average and quite small. However, it had everyone one would expect it to have and was quite comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent. There was a lot of choice, the quality was very good and they were very happy to accomodate guests' requests.
The attitude of the people was also very good as well as helpful.
I would be very happy to stay there again.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. What a clean and comfortable room. We stayed in no12 which is a family room with a single and double bed.
We had such a good nights sleep and then in the morning enjoyed a relaxing shower. The bathroom was perfect. Then we went to breakfast. OMG the best breakfast ever! We had the medium breakfast with toast which was massive and unlimited tea and coffee.
I would definitely stay there again. Thank you so much to the staff for making our stay so great.
