Great site close to the old course of the River Nene in March. Offering water activities if you want them, great strolls along the riverbank or just a peaceful resting place. This is the 4th time we have stayed on this site and I can only say it gets better each time!! Now they are offering a 'take your own plate' breakfast and light bites from the shop. Lovely people and would definitely stay again...
We stayed for six nights in our caravan. We were welcomed and well looked after by Debs and the wardens. This is a friendly small site with good facilities. We appreciated that you pay for the electric that you use - very good value. The showers were clean and had plenty of hot water. The campsite has a friendly farm cat called Jaffa who enjoyed a lap or relaxing on the awning mat. We cycled both into March and along the local roads. We also brought our own kayak and we were able to paddle along the Old River Nene. The river was very quiet and you could either paddle into March and visit shops or a waterside pub, or go into the countryside in the other direction. The only challenge was the wind - the fens are very open to wind but we had a few days which were calmer and perfect for paddling the kayak. The site has two very roomy shepherds huts and a wooden lodge which can be hired. In the big campsite field they have space for family groups with a fire pit. The pitches were a generous size. We booked a hard standing with electric. Very level. It is not far to visit WWT Welney if you are a bird watcher. On a rainy day Ely is not far away for a visit to the town and cathedral. We will definitely visit again.…
I can't rate this place high enough! I booked the apartment for a few days a week for several weeks as I was working in the area. The apartment is superb, spotless, comfortable and a great home from home with smart TV, space and really a comfortable bed not to mention the huge. The owners Deb's and Hannah and of course Jaffa the cat made me feel so welcome and the breakfast they offer of local produce was see outstanding. This is the only place I would stay in the area!
Han and Debs went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. Such a peaceful location - we are definitely returning to kayak along the river! Awesome breakfast too! Han and Debs new management highly recommended - thank you!
This was really good. The hut was beautiful, with a big and mega-comfortable bed, decent kitchen and dining space (though it's for heating things up, toasting bread etc -- don't plan on doing any proper cooking) and nice little bathroom, plus a lovely outdoor space with a barbecue. The owners are friendly and helpful, Jaffa the campsite cat is adorable (I nearly kidnapped him), and the WiFi is excellent. Highly recommended.
