This hotel is in a lovely position next to a small (man made) lake. Good looking garden - but nowhere to sit in the garden to appreciate the garden and views. Staff are friendly but you need to have at least a smattering of Japanese to get by. Food seemed to be a problem for them as they had no...

It is expensive. It is the one and only ryokan with the lake view. It is also the only one with non smoking rooms in Unzen. All rooms are huge and facing the lake. The onsen is good and food is of high standard. Our room comes with a bed and a huge tatami area. But there are big holes...

We stayed in rooms 312 and 313 at the far end of the corridor. It's a very looooong walk, from the lobby. The rooms are huge and gorgeous. They have a full sized fridge but, it's stocked with their drinks. It's not easy to keep your own drinks in it. You have a choice of sleeping on beds or on...

Magnificent traditional Japanese room with private bathroom. Beautiful lake view with typical extensive onsen. Japanese room are a little expensive but staff is so attentive and kind to make the effort to speak English. I was there with my brother and the experience we highly recommend our experience. Thanks! Tips for the volcano: get there as early as possible, more...

I have booked this place after looking at several sites raving about their hospitality for seniors, and fond it perfect for my trip with my elderly father. From freshly made tea at the checkin, spacious room with stunning lake view and onsen with birds and cicada sounds and nothing else, traditional dinner served in the room, comfortable futon and no...

I like to read your review. I use your website for my travel. This hotel is booked by my friends so I would not stay in this hotel again. I do not like the onset in this hotel. But the room of the hotel is comfortable, food is so so. The selling point of this hotel is the view of...

We stayed at this place for one night in March 2014. On its website, the hotel announces only rooms with lake view. After booking, we received a confirmation for 'mountain view'. Sadly, that doesn't mean lake and 'mountain', but only 'mountain'. And 'mountain' means parking lot (and a small container building). It was very easy though to look at the...

We stayed two night here. Here is the representative of ryokan in Japan. There were high quality service, meal and onsen. The scenery from our room was so beautiful. We could see calm lake. The meal was so exited and beautiful. We could touch real Japanese cuisine. If we have a time we would stay 1 night more!
