Onsen area is really large. They have different kinds of Onsen, both indoor and outdoor. In the middle part of the Onsen area the water is 1.4m, like a swimming pool! But be careful, the middle part is mix Onsen, for lady only time is from 6.30-10pm.

The hotel was sitting in the centre of Kirishima onsen area, surrounded by the hill side forrest. The onsen face the little river with pine trees. When you soak in the warm hot spring water, you can smell the pure taste of natural area; mixture of the sound of flowing water and smell of green. It really wash your polluted... More

It was a very big hotel, with many floors of rooms, with private and public hotspring. Rather old fashion, but it us a family hotel. The food was good. But I would prefer smaller scale hotel with nicer traditional decoration.

The hotel is a little dated, yet we didn't feel too bad about it. The lobby, the corridor, the doors of the room... many aspects indicate that this huge hotel need a reburbishment. But due to the fact that this is located in Japan, so you feel OK about it. Things are orderly and proper. At least everything was still... More

I spent 3 nights in the hotel for my holiday. The view of my room was perfect. Generally speaking, the sevice was good but not convenient. When you want to have dinner, you have to make an appointment in advance. Then, you have to walk away from the hotel to other restaurants which is five to ten minutes walk. I... More

I really like this hotel, the downstairs onsen is fantastic as there is 2 onsen baths outside and one inside. There is also an onsen on top which has a sauna, great facilities as there's also a foot spa in the courtyard. The food is really good with a large variety. My only regret was that the WiFi can only be... More

After a long day of interesting travel on the bus it was great to arrive at the hotel, get checked in with no hassles , get undressed and into our yukata's and go straight to the onsen for a relaxing time before dinner and watched a lovely sunset. Our tour group had a Japanese style dinner in a private tatami... More

Visited this hotel during a family holiday to Japan, specifically to experience the onsen & the food. We weren't disappointed by either. The onsen was a great way to relax & unwind after a long day of travelling or a long night on the tatami mats. The view from our room over the valley was just spectacular. Dinner in the... More

We arrived in the rain, we left in the rain which was rather a pity as our room supposedly had superb views across the valley to Mount Sakurajima. We arrived at the station expecting to take the local bus up to the spa resort, don't take the bus, it takes about 75 minutes if you can actually catch one, take... More

We came here for the famous onsen and we were happy. Room was standard and nothing fancy. Food was very decent and served in the dining area. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast which from what I can tell had japanese, western and chinese style choices. We experienced a bit of a cultural shock when I entered the "mix" onsen and... More
