If you are driving and need an inexpensive accommodation and do not mind a room with stink coming from hundreds of smokers in the past, it's okay.

A view, especially when you have a room on the ocean side, it's good with a Maizuru ferry port view.

It has a dining room, but it is only for breakfast and dinner is not available. Dinner options in the immediate neighbourhood appear to be very limited, so I ended up driving several blocks. Other option is to get a take-out bento from a convenience store or a supermarket.

Enjoyed my stay at Port Shine hotel. The view of the bay from the lobby and rear of the hotel is very enjoyable. The hotel staff was very accomodating even though I don't understand Japanese. The best features are the breakfast buffet which has an excellent selection of items and the great location. The Brick museum which is nearby is worthwhile to visit as it contains some of the history of the area and information on the 100 year old brick structures. More
