Getting out from the city and landing to countryside is what this Roykan represents. It was a bull's eye for us. Lovely rooms with tatami, splendid little hot spring and location a bit off from village center. Pittoresque view's and good walking/hiking surroundings. Friendly staff that guides around the area.

👎Far, 20 minutes walk, to shopping street. 👎Carpet and chairs in the room stained / filthy. Shock to see more stain when move the coffee table (in the room). 👍Scenery outside windows is pretty. 👌10 minutes walk to supermarket. No street light at night at certain streets. Please bring tourch light or mobile phone with tourch light apps at night.

Large rooms and bathrooms; this would be a large hotel room even in the US.. Ours had tatami mats. Shortly after we went to the room, a young woman brought cups of green tea. While at dinner, the staff got the futon mats out of the closet and made up the "bed" on the floor. Some rooms have real beds....

This hotel is situated in the countryside with lovely views of Yufu dake. It is a modern hotel offering traditional services. We had a traditional room with western beds. It is not too far from the station but upon arriving I would advise that you phone from the station as they have a free shuttle bus..I phoned and asked in...

The staff was very helpful. The facility was very clean and the ofuro had a magnificent view of Mt. Yufu! Shuhokan offers all the services of a typical ryokan but in a modern setting. Japanese set breakfast is excellent and the hotel shop sells several local delicacies and onsen products. Right outside the hotel is a small area where guests...

At lovely and charming Yufuin, Shuhokan is a bit far from Train station but there is a pick up service between hotel & train station which is very convenient! Staff are nice and polite. The room is really good and the bed is so comfortable! However, there is no a big towel at Onsen's dressing room and the open-air onsen...

Our two families of four - 4 adults and 4 children (all 6 or under) enjoyed our stay here. The hotel had a lovely English speaking woman who attended to our every need. Without her though we would have been a bit lost. They were very patient with our loud, illbehaved children and made an effort to provide child friendly...

A bit of a walk from the Yufuin train station, which was unpleasant with all the luggage. They provide a shuttle service from and to the station, which we used on he way back. We stayed three nights, the hotel was almost empty and thus very quiet, after 2 weeks of chaotic cities Yufuin made us see a completely different...

Spent 3 nights at this hotel. Had a Japanese style room, enjoyed the experience of tatami mats and sleeping on the floor. Large room with a mountain view ,alcove with table and chairs, small fridge, boiling water and green tea supplied. We did not understand about restaurant bookings and little english spoken so did not eat here. Thought the hot...

Though the hotel looks plain from the outside, the inside is modern and well maintained. It is a short distance from town so it is very quiet. The staff members provided excellent service. The kaiseki dinner in the Japanese restaurant was delicious and part of the reason why this hotel is expensive. The dinner in the Western restaurant was very...
