The place is simple and charming. The location is lovely, the area -even more so. Multiple paths to walk, beautifull spots to visit, gorgeous views to enjoy. Nice people, great experience. Waiting to come back.

Must be our 4th or 5th visit. Still lovely. We shop in kasaoka seaside mall to cook the meals we like and enjoy milkshakes and margaritas at the moo bar and swim in the sea. Sea kayaks fun - and flowers in the gardens. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. The beach is beautiful and sandy. We have come... More

I've been here about 10 times over the years, in a couple, with family, and with groups of friends. The villa is still looking good considering its age and the traffic it has seen, and there has been some updating work in the rooms. You can't beat the view, the walks are great, with spectacular views from the lookouts, the... More

This looked like an interesting place, and I was looking forward to my stay. The island is pretty and I'm sure it would be lovely in the warmer months with the beach nearby. The villa looks 1970s vintage, and has seen better days. That said it is nicely designed with a great view over the neighbourhood. It was quite cold... More

So I spent 3 weeks travelling alone in japan. Just randomly booked it 3 weeks before I left. Getting towards the end of my trip I was thinking of heading to the south of japan and seeing the sights. I randomly got the wrong train and ended up in Kasaoka. I then googled what's near and it was slim pickings... More

I've been to Shiraishi Island on many occasions, but this August was my first time staying at the International Villa. It is easy to book a reservation online through the Okayama International Villa website. After getting off of the ferry from Kasaoka, the Villa is just a short walk from the port. There are no staff on site, but the... More

We wanted to get away from the crowds and came across the International villa on lovely Shiraishi Island. We were warmly welcomed by Amy. The villa is on top of a hill, overlooking the bay and beautiful sunset. We were lucky that weekend to be able to witness a local fire ceremony at the temple. The local people were kind... More

We stayed two nights in this cozy, well equipped and nicely furnished villa with a friendly manager. It is just 5 min to the beach. You can go for a walk through the hills or jogging around the island. We were the only visitors during this weekend. If you like to experience a piece of japan without a lot of... More

The Shiraishi International Villa makes for an excellent break from museums, temples, and train schedules. I've always wanted to try kayaking on the Inland Sea and this provided a perfect opportunity - kayaks are available for a very reasonable rental fee, and there's another island with a convenient picnic spot just over 2km away. As others have mentioned, there are... More

My boyfriend and I had been doing some hectic travelling around Japan and were looking for a place to have a little break and we struck gold with this place. It is a lovely building with huge windows overlooking the beach where you can watch the sunset! The room was nice and large (western room). There is a communal kitchen... More
