Stayed in Ginzanso early January 2017 for one-night two meals. We booked a room with private bath so the room itself was quite nice especially it was snowing and we could enjoy the scenery in our own room. We checked into Ginzanso at around 5pm and went for an onsen dip before dinner at our designated private dining room (just...

I'm very sorry. I regret having broken your travel. A problem of the person who gave you fear is being also discussed at present. Damage is being taken out to the police. It's promised by the advice I got from you. 1. When there was a guest who causes trouble to other guests, I enter restraint promptly. 2. When you...

Visited in early Jan/2017, this hotel was the only one available to book online. After my arrival and a short stroll past other onsens in town, my first thought was that I was short changed (albeit booking the hotel two days before at an inflated price). Ginzanso is a modernish onsen nestled on a hill not from the town, but...

The staff are the best feature of this modern Onsen hotel. They were unfailingly friendly and helpful, even to the point of bringing our desert to our room when we had mistakenly left the dining room before it was served. Our room had a view out over a river and the tree lined hills beyond. As this was in the...

It was a really nice experience here especially if you are looking for a quite getaway. The Onsen is about 200m from town and has its own carpark which is great if you drive there. Service is excellent and the even put your name outside their "welcome board". There was one staff that spoke English but the others who couldn't...

This onsen locates on hillside of Ginzan onsen with beautiful view of creek with small shops with local specialties, foodies. At the end of the creek upto the mountain , there is waterfall with plunge pool, but I am not sure whether I cam swim or not. Watermelon wine is recommended to try while you sit with your feet in...

overall rating: 3-3/4 stars The guest rooms of Ginzanso overlook a lovely forested hillside. The property enjoys a great location with sufficient parking, and it is just a short downhill walk from the charming and unspoiled town of Ginzan Onsen. In comparison with other hotels and ryokan we visited in Yamagata Pref., service at Ginzanso was adequate but unpolished. Case...

Traveling to the hotel is quite easy by taking a green beautiful old-style bus to the hotel (about 40 min from Oishida station). The reception was very friendly and they could speak english fluently. The hotel room was very large with beautiful view from the window. They served us tea when we arrived at the room which was really lovely....

Thank you very much for your stay. I'm happy because you're glad about the bath and a dish. It's pleasant that you can meet again.

This hotel is very well organized, with many small touches that set it apart from others. Staff are warm and supportive, and can provide foreign language written guides. The onsen town is extremely charming and worth a stroll after sunset.

For a traditional experience in an old style Japanese hotel with a magnificent outdoor Onsen, you can't go past Ginzanso in the winter time. Firstly Ginzan Onsen in an amazing place to visit - quite stunning, and seems totally isolated. The hotel is a treat on its own. On arrival we are issued rain-boots and purple warm raincoats - so...
