Detailed Reviews
Just spent four wonderful nights at The Coach House. It’s ideally situated in Wroxham, just a few minutes walk from the Marina & offering free parking for each of the three rooms, which is a great bonus. The bedrooms and en suites are all newly refurbished & are absolutely spotless with high quality bedding and towels - even bathrobes are provided! The selection of teas and coffees is excellent and complimented by chilled fresh milk and chilled water together with bone China cups and saucers. It’s these touches that make this B&B a cut above the rest (and most hotels!) and it’s details like insect screens over the opening windows that just add to the comfort of the rooms.
Martyn is a master of hospitality (his previous incarnation as a hotel inspector certainly shows!) from the warm welcome with tea and fabulous home made fruit cake to the daily breakfasts cooked to order and served on lovely china on a beautifully laid table. I’m not normally a marmalade eater but the various homemade ones, each in elegant cut glass jars, are just too delicious to miss - in fact Martyn ended up refilling ours! We just had to buy some to bring home.
All in all this is a fabulous superior B&B run by someone who obviously knows his business & great value for money - well worth a stay!

Paid another visit to this exceptional B&B. As ever, the place is spotless. Martyn thinks of everything guests might need & goes out of his way to provide the extras that make this place so special.. The service he gives is far better than supposedly superior hotels we have stayed in. Breakfasts are excellent and served on good, not just hotel brand china, with the several varieties of marmalade provided in crystal pots. The white linen cloths and napkins are immaculate. The beds are comfortable and towels large and fluffy. Martyn even supplies special cloths for make-up removal! We’ve never seen that before. Each time we visit we try to see if we can think of something that hasn’t been provided or thought of, but haven’t yet managed it. This time we needn’t have brought phone chargers as plugs with charging sockets were provided. Can’t recommend this place too highly. Martyn is a superb host, friendly, approachable & has an excellent sense of humour which, with his good cooking, makes a great start to the day.

We stayed at the Coach House B&B for 4 nights in September in the ‘Hereford’ room which is one of three rooms available. We were greeted by the owner Martyn (a former hotel inspector) with a warm welcome who carried our bags to the room. Martyn is extremely friendly and helpful. He explained the various room functions (together with free wifi) and then we went down to the lounge for home made fruit cake with pot of tea/cafetière coffee (how lovely was this especially after a long drive)!
Our room was very clean, tidy bright & airy with view over the countryside. There is a great drinks selection of ‘Clipper’ teas & also regular/decaf/filter coffee. A nice touch is the refilled daily fresh milk canister & glass bottled water. The bathroom was very clean and you are provided with good quality towels and pump dispenser hand/bath gels with hand lotion (hand sanitiser gel is also by the basin). There are extras like mini bottles of mouth wash, shoe shine and even slippers/bathrobes (how many B&B’s provide this sort of thing)!
The breakfast was always very tasty & normally we started with fruit juice, a bowl of fruit with natural yoghurt then the full english. Martyn will accommodate all tastes and is quite happy to serve an alternative breakfast if required. We loved the home made jam selection (the three fruit our favourite) and this made the toast taste even better. The breakfast room is neat & tidy with proper linen table cloths/napkins & bone china/quality cutlery. Martyn also keeps you entertained with his witty humour!
Quite frankly, at times you feel like you’re in a 5 star hotel. The attention to detail is second to none and with all Martyn’s expertise in inspecting he certainly knows what he is doing. For the price I believe it is great value. Also, being in Wroxham, you are literally so close to the Broads you can walk to the town in about 10 mins.
For all the positives there is only one slight negative (if anything and I’m being very picky now) which is the train line at the rear of the property. You do notice the train noise every 30 to 60 mins but it’s over so quickly (blink & you’ll miss it type of thing). Our room was upstairs at the rear so it was noticeable at night. However, if in the front upstairs bedroom then you probably would not hear anything. Please do not be put off by this, it’s just my opinion/observation.
This B&B is 5 star quality all the way & Martyn is an exceptional host/owner. You can even buy the home made jams/chutneys & Christmas puddings before you leave (and indeed we did). We would recommend anyone visiting Wroxham to stay here. You will certainly not find better.

Well well well! What a review, so eloquent, and it's made my day, thank you so such. You and your dad were a pleasure to host, and I'm so pleased you enjoyed your holiday on the Broads. Thank you for the detail too, I'm pleased you liked the extra touches, and of course the marmalade. I hope the Christmas pudding lives up to expectations.... The train line is obviously something I can do nothing about, so many of my regular guests will only ever have that room it's funny, we don't notice the train anymore and sleep with our windows open. Thankfully it doesn't run all through the night! I put new double glazing in that room when I refurbished when I bought the Coach House - maybe I could talk to my builder about changing it to triple glazing. Thankfully as you say it's not noisy and is gone in seconds. You were model guests and I'd love to see you back again, thank you.

A newly refreshed room and hand sanitisers strategically placed around the public rooms gave a feeling of confidence for our return visit and our first visit anywhere since Spring 2020. The standard is as high as ever befitting a b and b owned by Martyn, a former hotel inspector. It's the little things that make the difference. Dressing gowns, good quality toiletries, an impressive array of teas and coffees are provided in the room. We would thoroughly recommend staying here and the new website makes online booking so easy.

We got to Wroxham one afternoon and loved it so decided to stay for the night, we found the wonderful coach house and are so pleased that we did, what a truly delightful place. Martin was lovely and we are grateful he let us stay considering it was 7 pm by the time we found his B&B, breakfast was exquisite and freshly prepared by Martin all in front of us, the homemade marmalades were amazing and I was able to purchase some to take home.
every part of the place was spotless and very well cared for, the room was so comfortable and catered for everything you could want. There was even a bone china teapot and cups and saucers. I would highly recommend this place, I would say considering the very many 4-star B&Bs we have stayed in over the years this is most definitely one of if not the best one we have stayed at, we are really looking forward to going back and staying at martins beautiful home.

This was our 4th time staying at the Coach House, and again we had a wonderful time. Martyn's attention to detail is extraordinary, from the spotlessly clean rooms to the bottle of water and thermos of cold milk he leaves in the room every day. The cooked breakfasts are the best we've had anywhere, and this time we also opted one morning for his homemade porridge, which was equally delicious. Martyn's local knowledge is also outstanding, especially for lunch and dinner recommendations! From the friendly exchanges with Martyn and other guests in the breakfast room, to the range of activities the local area has to offer, we've always loved our time here, and will look forward to coming back again!

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights, on arrival Martyn gave us a delightful welcome and show around, offered us tea and Homemade cake on arrival. We had the downstairs bedroom with en suite being a huge bathroom and very very clean. A choice of a power shower or bath was available. Everything was perfect from comfort to fresh milk for tea and chilled water to drink. Breakfast was amazing, choices of fruit or granola or cereals, then a cooked breakfast and finishing with toast and homemade choices of flavoured jams. A very pleasant breakfast dining experience. Martyn’s hospitality is superb nothing is of any trouble for him. He made our stay enjoyable relaxing and very easy. I highly recommend staying at the Coach House, it’s the best b&b I have ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in many!!
Thank you Martyn we will be back again

On arrival at The Coach House B&B in Wroxham we were met by our host Martin who soon had our bags out of the car and into our room. We were then treated to homemade fruit cake, made by Neil , and a pot of tea, much appreciated after our long journey, while Martin explained the ins and out of the accommodation and a little about the surrounding area. We were in the Salisbury room, it was lovely, great comfy super-king bed with super-soft bedding and a beautiful bathroom. It was warm during our stay and the bedding reflected this, we had a lovely summer duvet on the bed plus access to a fan if needed. Breakfast is cooked by Martin in his open kitchen each morning as he chats to all his guests (there are three rooms) making us all feel very special. There is a good variety for breakfast, full English, cereals, fruit and yoghurt etc nothing is too much trouble and if he does not have something I get the feeling it would be there the next day if you requested it. The highlight of the breakfast for me was my toast smothered with one of Neil’s homemade marmalades, seriously worth returning just for that. The whole 4 day stay was just wonderful, Martin and Neil really know their stuff and you would have to go a long way to find better. We will be returning with friends in the not too distant future. Thank you Martin and Neil.

Thanks for your great review Susan and I'm delighted you'll be returning with your friends next time. It's so nice to get such a full review which includes some of the extra touches I put in - like the summer weight extra light duvets. I just wish you'd taken a pic of the lovely cake before you'd eaten it! Look forward to welcoming you back soon, Martyn.

My wife and I stopped here for 3 fantastic nights. Martyn meets you on arrival with tea and cake as well as his amazing personality, he cannot do enough for you. The rooms are immaculate and have everything you can imagine to hand. Breakfast is made fresh while chatting to Martyn and is served on lovely China. There are homemade marmalade’s on the table which you can also purchase, as we did..Yum..!!. This IS the best B&B we have ever stayed in... 5* hotels could learn a thing from the Coach House..!.. we will definitely be back again.. Donna & Richard

We stayed at the Coach House for three nights in May 2022 and agreed it was the most spoilt we've ever been in any hospitality venue. Every effort had been made to make our stay as perfect as it could have been, from the freshly-cooked breakfast to the cup of tea on arrival, the chilled water in the room to the fluffy towels. We were blown away with the attention to detail by Martyn, our host, and I'm certain we shall be returning as often as possible.

Wroxham has 2 eateries and Hoveton - just over the bridge has many more, all a five minute walk and something for everyone. No need to take the car, leave it here.

Hi there each room has it's own table at breakfast, I don't believe in making people share - we're all different and not everyone's that sociable early in the morning!
