V Plaza hotel puts the fun back in your business travel by seeing to it that you're inspired by our touch and feel cared for in every sense of the word. We have stylish boutique that is so comfortable that you will be tempted to hang around after your long business meeting. It might be little too much to hug each guest who checks in. In reality, that's what we try to do in a matter of speech. We are very concerned that you get a proper night's sleep; choice of pampering pillows to make your forty winks, beauty sleep. And we offer you in the morning with a complimentary buffet breakfast and welcome you back by the sea breeze from the South China Sea at Roof Top cafe for our evening 'cocktail'. We will even take you for a jog around Kuala Belait town to ensure you get your daily exercise in. Finally we assure you that you will always feel connected with your loved one and that is why we offer Wi-Fi for free. Who knows? After all that, you may just want to give us a hug and that is fine with us.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The rooms either have views of the river and the jungle beyond it or of the city and the sea. Both are lovely. The rooftop cafe is a great spot to watch the sun go down. Consistently friendly and helpful service from the staff. The breakfast is good (I miss the buffet they used to have, but this is a post-COVID world). The dinner options are very nice too. If you feel like it, downtown KB is a short walk away.

We stayed in a river facing suite for our mandatory isolation period after arriving in Brunei. It felt like a holiday. The room was fantastic and the view over the river amazing at sunset. The river isn't silent because there is always boat moving up and down all day, but it was great to be able to go onto the balcony and see the world go by when you can't go out in it!

The rooms are big and clean but everything else is terrible. It started when I booked the hotel for a business trip. There are not a lot of hotels in KB, so the choice is limited. The hotel confirmed my booking then a week later cancelled saying they did not have the capacity. It took the company I was consulting for to call and secure a room for me. To reach the offices of our client, we need to utilize hotel transport. We booked each day in advance but the hotel managed to screw up the booking each time making us late three days in a row. When I misplaced the plastic key to my room, they charged me $11 to replace it (the only hotel in the world to do that and I have been to hundreds of them). On the way out of your room, the door does not close and lock automatically. You have to run your key to retract the bolt lock and pull it shut (when you are leaving). The bathroom has a 4 inch step down into it meaning you are in danger of stubbing or even breaking a toe if you get up at night to go to the toilet. The food is severely limited, poor quality, and only good for a carb load. Finally, the wifi is only good for about 10minute at a time then cuts out for 5-10 minutes. This is the worst hotel I have visited in a long, long time ,and I have been in some pretty bad hotels.

The rooms are spacious, with comfy bed and sofa.
My room was facing a river and i love the evening sunset from this room.
This hotel had a renovated second building housing a chick gym.
A nice Chinese restaurant seated on the ground floor. Overall the best comfortable and spacious hotel I've stayed.

Stayed at the V Plaza Hotel for the entire month of April 2020 during the Covid19 outbreak. Have no complaints at all, staff were all ways there to help and curtious and service was very fast. Admittedly the occupancy was low due the border shudowns etc but all the same was very good. I had a room on 5th floor over looking river and it was large with separate living area with its own toilet and large balcony. Bedroom was large and big ensuite with shower and bath. Basically couldn't really ask for more. Aircon was good.

This trip was my 2nd to the VPlaza. Didn’t start well as the receptionist could not find my booking. Got a senior lady who advised me I didn’t have a booking which was a bit embarrassing for them as I had given them my written confirmation. I had made the booking about 10 days before directly on the hotel website- apparently this was the problem!!
They then asked me to have a seat while they sorted out a room and I was eventually allocated a beautiful suite with lounge with powder room, bedroom with walk in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom which had both a shower and bath.
I was very pleased with this resolution until I took a shower the next morning - water was cold. I advised reception and asked them to get maintenance to check it. Next morning same and again I told reception. Several days went by until I personally spoke with the maintenance manager who advised it was an issue with the gas supply and from the conversation he seemed to indicate it was a whole of hotel problem. I spoke to some work colleagues mentioning the lack of hot water and they advised they had hot water. It appears only some rooms are affected. I was there for 2 weeks and never had hot water in the shower or handbasin - occasionally got a lukewarm bath- not a pleasant experience. Such a shame as the hotel itself is very good, great ambience and pleasant staff- food not so much. As I had work to do each evening got room service - which was slow and not hot when it arrived. Covering with cling wrap does not keep food warm- not even cloches to cover the food. The description on the menu doesn’t actual match the food - soup and chef made breads is actually is soup with a few pieces of bread floating in the soup.
The view at sunset from my room was amazing.

This a fairly new Hotel, with large comfortable rooms relatively quiet with empty mini bar fridge and limited TV selection.
Staff are very friendly, always offer a welcome and are always accommodating in trying to fulfill a guests requests as long as it is a simple request and nothing out of the ordinary!
However one becomes extremely frustrated with the total lack of lateral thinking, when you get a phone call at 22:30 with some night staff member stating that they have just received a message that the morning pick up will be at 08:30! Why they could not wait until 07:00 to tell you rather than wake you up I do not Know!
Or when requested how you are and you reply not weel I got Food poisioning from your restraint and have been sick for 6 days, I missed my departure flight and have had to stay an extra 5 days due to being sick, most hotels would be most concerned and a visit from the manager a minimum but all you get is a token oh so sorry and then some receptionist persistently rings your room bell so you stagger out of your sick bed with a fever to find out he wants you to sign your bill!!!
I daren't comment but leave it to the reader to sense ones frustration.
Food apart from food poisoning was always cold but passable to eat.
