Apart from being almost on the beach itself, this place is a bit overrated as far as overall quality of certain aspects of their offer in services and amenities. Room is confortable, view from it is fabulous but…the pillows are horribly hard, woke up with a sore neck, the food at their restaurant is kind of ok if you choose Thai food but for American food, it is, let say, less than average, there are some choices that they scratch from their menu because they just don’t know how to cook it, simple thing bruschetta, club sandwich, breakfast is also pretty boring if you not Asian; cold and uncooked chicken sausages, cold chicken ham presented in cold water bowl, coffee is good though and toast are great, I ended up eating that only…last déception, beach access from beach front villa number 2 you need to walk about 200 meters right to the marina entrance or 200 meters left to the restaurant to get access to the beach that is about 20 meters right in front of your room. There is a concrete wall, high of about 1.6 meters that separates you from the beautiful white sand beach. See photos attached…

Room Tip: Choose beach front villa 5 so to have a better access to the beach.

This place has great potential but it just isn’t quite there yet. Due to Chinese New Year that seemed to be the 95% demographic.. Breakast is very good with omelettes and oriental mix what’s not to love? Room over pool was clean but drains a bit smelly. Pool was full of kids with terrible music blaring so we kept away from the resort during the day. WIFI is practically none existent for 90% of the day.... frustrating for digital nomads!! Great ability to get a tuk tuk anytime and the staff were lovely. I would use this place as a stopover betweeen locations only in future...

Review of Bundhaya, Koh Lipe, the sea is very beautiful, the view is good, the water is clear and clean, the sea water is not salty, different from other places. Delicious food, fresh seafood. The service of the staff is friendly. The long-tail boat drivers who take us to dive are very friendly with tourists. and guide There is an introduction to various places on the islands before diving in. Take close care. and also take another photo Overall, it's very good.

Hotel with relaxing and nice atmosphere. We stayed in both pool room ad garden bungalows. Excellent.
Clean and fantastic service. The restaurant right on the beach. Never seen such a colour on the sea before. Snorkling possibilties and lots of fish directly on the beach.
We would like to come back.

Location is fantastic, right on Pattaya Beach & just a couple of minutes from the ferry & Walking Street. Breakfast buffet is delicious, the best I've seen at a budget hotel, lots of selection & all delicious! I've had worse at 5 star hotels. Staff are friendly & room cleaned every day.
It was also exceptional value compared to anything nearby.
The room/chalet was quite small but that was manageable, my big negative was the bed! Honestly the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in. Hard like cement with a layer of Styrofoam on top. So if you like a hard mattress, Bundhaya will be perfect for you! That said, it didn't spoil the trip & we enjoyed our stay in beautiful Koh Lipe

The hotel located almost right in front to the pier so it’s very convenient but also a bit busy. The Deluxe Pool View room we stayed was ok, not big, not so clean but not that dirty. Breakfast was the best part, very good for 3 star hotel. The services was okay a bit harsh from some of the staffs.

We took the bundhaya speed boat transfer from koh lipe to koh lanta, the driver endangered the lives of everyone on the boat. I have driven boats since i was 14 and am now 26, i know their limits whats safe and whats not. The number 1 rule is you never drive a boat faster than the conditions call for. If the water is flat you can go fast, if there are big waves you must slow down or you risk cracking the hull. The driver was extremely reckless and was jumping the boat 1 too 2 meters high out of the water with about 30 people on board. The boat would come slamming back on the water, all he had to do to avoid this was to slow down until the waves past. This is extreemly reckless and dangerous for everyone on the boat. If there are big waves you have to SLOW DOWN. Who cares if it makes you a little late at least people will get there safe. It is shameful of this resort to allow people to drive these boats in this manner. Do not trust this resort for your transfers from koh lipe! Also when we were approaching lanta the driver was speeding through a small passageway between islands and cutting the boat very close to shore if he had slipped even for a brief moment everyone on the boat would be dead! Slow your boat down when conditions call for it otherwise this is a tragedy waiting to happen! I have taken speed boats all over thailand and none of them have driven as insanely as this one.

We were traveled to Koh Lipe thailand on 10/05/2017-13/05/2017. Based on good reviews from tripadvisor, we choose to stay this resort The location is very good , next to the Immigration and closer to the walking street.
But the staffs who working in this resort was make us very disappointed. I used to travel lot places of Thai, Thai people always give us very good impression, they are very friendly and polite. But the service that we get from this resort make us SHOCK and SPEECHLESS. The staff who working there no sends any greeting, no smile at all since first day we staying in this resort.
The Wifi connection is very poor there. We had elderly with us and who is businessman. My friend was make a very polite request to the receptionist that he can’t connect with the WIFI in room. They is the answer from a receptionist staff : HOW COME ONLY U COMPLAINT THAT U CAN’T CONNECT TO THE WIFI?OTHER GUESTS WERE NO MAKE ANY COMPLAINTS. ” IT WAS VERY RUDE ANSWER WHILE GUEST WAS MAKE A GENTLE REQUEST AND SOMEMORE HE IS ELDELY.
Unfortunely we lost the room keys, just a key we lost, we have to paid Thai Baht 2000 (RM240), the price is too over. We admit that this is our careless, we have to pay this amount. But the resort no provides us the new key immediately, we have to always ask the staff to open our room every time we want enter the room. What’s the point that we get the key at the last night we going to leave????? IS FUNNY THAT WE PAID BUT WE NO GET KEY IMMEDIATELY!!!
I did request to meet the resort owner , MISS ELLE but she was in overseas based the message from resort staff.
We choose to stay in Garden Deluxe Bungalow, there have 2 bathrooms, one is open air bathroom, one is indoor. The resort no provide the curtain and we have to be aware to avoid the outsider people will watch through our indoor bathroom. It makes us feel no secure while using the toilet.
Is raining at KOH LIPE during we travelling there. During check out time, the receptionist staff told me that one umberal was lost, it going to charge me ,AGAIN, CHARGE ME !!! I was really get shock as i never ever used and touch the umberal since I knew it was in our room. AS THE LOST KEY ISSUE WAS GIVE US A “ GOOD LESSON”, we no dare to use any thing in this resort . I request them to check again, just a minute , they said they found the umbral. So sorry to comment that this resort give us feeling that they are waiting guest to lost something and charge you.
WE ARE NO RECOMMEND THIS RESORT TO ANY ONE OF OUR FRIENDS. There’s a lot the nice hotel and resort along the beach, u can get much better service from there. This is consider 4 or 5 star resort, the price that we paid is not worth it. MAKE SURE THAT U CHECK EVERYTHING ONCE U ENTER THE ROOM, OTHERWISE THEY WILL GIVE U “ SURPRISE “ WHILE U LEAVE.

To Get there.
Ferries from Lanta island, Pak Barra pier on the mainland and Langkawi in Malaysia. From Pak Barra it is 64km on a Bundhaya speedboat with 900hp of outboards travelling at 50km/h. Another company speedboat with over 1100hp of outboards probably does it a little quicker. About 80m off shore you transfer via a pontoon to a local longtail boat for the final leg. There are no piers. It is a beach landing so your feet and certainly below the knee will get wet, dress appropriately. Next to the Bundhaya is their speed boat office and next to that is the Immigration office.

Long tail boats are for the most part very noisy. The ones here are generally powered by the general purpose, used for everything 100 odd CC diesel, most commonly used on paddy field tillers. There are no silencers. A good pair of ear plugs might be useful to you if you intend to go out on any island tours.

I will not make any comments about wheel chair access, if you have got this far you probably do not need a wheelchair.

we used the Bundhaya speed boat as it simplified matters and with their pontoon 80m off their own resort it simplified matters when landing. Other resorts use motorised golf type buggies for transport.
We stayed in a Garden Deluxe bungalow at just over 3000B per night and any comments I make are purely for that type of bungalow in that area of the resort.
On arrival one passes to one side of the dining area and into reception. It is pleasantly designed with all natural materials, probably rubber tree wood. A brick pathway leads through the bungalow area.
The bungalow itself is of a sufficient size for 2 adults and room for one or two small children. The interior is all wood lined, and comes with a 32" LCD TV with satellite. Only two channels are in English, Auntie Beeb news and one movie channel, however most people probably do not venture this far to watch TV. The room is also equipped with a keypad operated safe and a Fridge. The bathroom/shower area is also of a sufficient size with good qualifty fittings. There is an outside shower area with a high wall. Such a pity this area was not cleaned to the same standard as the rest. After mentioning the plastic rubbish that had been there for a while though it was removed immediately. The air conditioning is from what looks to be a 9000BTU unit which does take a time to cool the room in the heat of the day. From what I could see this sized unit was in general use throughout the island. At a guess I would say it is because of power limitations. The power station being a packaged 20 foot container sized diesel alternator set.

They do appear to have sufficient staff that rooms are cleaned promptly, indeed, replacements towels etc were waiting outside the room by 7.30 in the morning and were changed promptly when you left the room.

Breakfast was, I have to admit, very good. Unlike so many places the food was hot. Sufficient eggs, bacon etc to suit western tastes as well as local Asian foods and fruit.

We stayed a week, this was probably a little too long for us but this has nothing to do with this resort but all to do with the island.

The island is so small their are no cars and just a few private motorbikes and the local version of a sidecar. There are a few small mini trucks. A landing type craft beaches on Pattaya beach probably once a week and I imagine it brings in stores and takes recycled material off.
My impression of this island is through the eyes of someone who has lived in Thailand 24 years and married to a Thai national and has been travelling the world since 18, so the eyes are a little cynical.

This island is over exploited and drowning in its own rubbish. Quite a start I know but not too far off the truth. Pattaya beach is for the most part soft powdery coral sand with surprisingly clear emerald water. What a pity you cannot swim from it for the most part then. There are so many longtail boats operating all along the beach that I wonder how many accidents they have. The Bundhaya has a buoyed off area in front of their resort so at least there it is safe. Also a few too many dogs wandering around on the beach. I think sunset beach is probably the most quiet for boats.

Looking along the beach at the resorts and bars and restaurants it all looks very nice but to me it is a facade. Look behind and you will see a problem that is endemic to this country. Plastic, plastic and more plastic. It is something this country has yet to come to grips with. On Sunrise beach near the school where the lontailbotamen gather the beach is strewn with plastic water bottles. There is a recycling plant on the island, you can smell it from some distance off, there has been no attempt to limit its visual impact, broken glass along the small road does not help either.
We went on 2 island hopping boat rides for a bit of snorkelling. There was rubbish all along the tree line on all but one island. The beach you are taken to on Monkey island, yes there are monkeys so watch out for your belongings, is no different but here it was very sad to see whilst snokelling over the coral any number of glass/plastic bottles/cans/tins and rebar from an old mooring.

This is such a shame, these islands are beautiful, the crystal clear water with the brilliant coloured fish is a sight to be behold. I hope someone from the Tarutou national parks reads this and reverses the trend before it is too late. People do not come from all over the world to see this. Please also note that Foreigners pay 10 times what Thai nationals pay for entry into their national parks so a ticket for Tarutao national park for foreigners is 200B but this permits entry to any of their island for one week.

If you like diving there are several dive shops on the islands that undoubtedly take you to places which have not suffered in the way the above mentioned coastline has. Even with my previous comments, if you like just floating around off the beach with a snorkel it can also be very rewarding.

There are many restaurants, either on the beach or on the walking street. We found the beach restaurants cheaper, certainly for sea food and a much better view.

Would I go back to the Bundhaya - Yes. Would I go back to Lipe, probably not.

This was a trip for 2 at the end of March and the beginning of April 2012.

My partner and I stayed at this resort for 4 days and have just come back. We left this resort with anger and disdain and will surely not recommend it to anybody. There's a massive stray dog issue on the island and you will see loads of dogs on the beaches and around the resort. Dogs come to the breakfast area to get some food from the customers as they are clearly starving. We have seen the staff kicking the dogs to scare them off the buffet area which was very distressing and inhuman. Also one of the staff sprayed a puppy with detergent and that let the puppy cry out in pain (they have bold patches and soars on their fur clearly caused by this inhuman way of scaring the dogs away).
If you are a dog lover and have respect for animals in general do not give your money to this resort. Moreover their superior bungalows are tiny rooms and their breakfast buffet is clearly for their Chinese clientele more than for the western tourist! They will offer you carton milk and fake orange juice!
