This is a place where beautiful Italian charm and old style comes together with new modern style in perfect combination. Very tasteful, nice colors, excellent choice of materials and built to allow outside light to fill the main room. A perfect base for going on exploration in the beautiful Salento region of Puglia. Laura (one of the owners) is a brilliant host who will make sure you have a very nice stay and she is always ready to give you loads of good advice on where to experience nice things. Highly recommended!

The Guest House Salento Le Tana Del Riccio is a wonderful retreat; a home away from home. Set in a beautiful traditional Italian village within short driving distance of the glorious south Italian coast line. A traditional house with a contemporary twist...traditional stone vaulted ceilings mixed with vast glass ceilings and classic restored pieces of furniture. The house and rooms have all the amenities you will need and Lara is a wonderful host.
I highly recommend this wonderful guest house.

I am Italian, and since I was 4 I have been spending my vacation in Puglia. Thus, I know the Region quite well.. Nonetheless, La Tana was a great find! My partner (from Chile) and I spent a week in the suite Riccio and loved it. The small town is fantastic, the town square reminds me of old Italian movies. Baroque surrounded us.. La Tana is very clean and comfortable; they even had beach towels! so no need to bring them! Further, even though, there were other guests (a group from the north of Italy), we could not hear any noise! The staff - fantastic. Starting with G., the factotum, who I had to call at 3am because the other guests had locked us out, and he arrived with a smile (actually, he laughed!) further, he suggested a couple of great places to eat. One a few minutes away, the pizzeria Lievito Madre, in Poggiardo.Perfect pizza made with hemp dough... Continuing with the cleaning staff...nice and knowledgeable of the area... ending with the Baronale! The cafe where we had breakfast. La Tana partners with the Cafe Baronale where we could have breakfast - espresso e cornetto o pasticciotto (typical local sweet). Baronale is a lovely cafe in the square of this tiny town. The passaparola here is the most important thing.. they referred to La locanda dei Camini in Boturgno - another great find! Finally, the owner, prepared a very helpful booklet mentioning the best beaches to visit, recommending restaurants, etc.. a very useful pocket guide! We loved it! I am ready to go back!

I didn't really want to give a review as I'd like to keep it all to myself! It is an absolute gem. A beautiful b&b in Salento, Puglia, it is perfectly placed for exploring the area. The rooms are gorgeous, breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We were recommended the most wonderful restaurants to try and some of the most amazing beaches to visit that we would never have found by ourselves. I can't wait to go back!!

The villa was wonderful. The perfect place for friends to stay and congregate together while still having your own space.
Well appointed with renovated historic character and super convenient and accessible to get around the Puglia region and experience the food/wine, sea and history the area has to offer.

We spent a week with good friends, all of us stayed at La Tana del Riccio. What a gorgeous house, spacious clean rooms, extremely comfortable beds, good bathrooms, great kitchen and dining area and rooftop terraces. Laura and her brilliant team did everything to make our stay perfect. Salento is a stunning part of Italy, unspoiled, with a most spectacular coastline, hidden coves and beaches, lovely towns and villages. The food and wine of this area is simple yet extremely good, and nothing is overpriced. There are so many places to visit, eat, drink that a week was simply not enough. We shall return, many times. And stay at La Tana del Riccio. Thank you Laura

My husband and I stayed at La Tana del Riccio in mid-October. We found the guest house sparkling clean, spacious, comfortable and welcoming. Evenings we enjoyed wine and cheese on the rooftop terrace watching lovely sunsets. When the mornings were warm enough we had coffee in the walled garden off the common space.
The interior is exquisitely finished to make the most of the old architecture and combine it with modern finishes and furnishings.
Warm, friendly Laura, one of the owners was most helpful in recommending area restaurants and outings in the area. Each day we took a drive: to the nearby seacoast, to the cities of Lecce and Gallipoli, driving through vineyards, huge groves of old olive trees on pretty winding roads. We loved the coastal drive with exqusite views over the sea and small towns with their man-made harbors.
With only 4 rooms this guest house would be a lovely place for a family get-together or a reunion of friends. On the other hand each of the rooms is spacious and private, and there is plenty of room with the several outdoor spaces.
Wonderful find!
