Don't know where to start, as soon as we pulled up into this beautiful we were greeted by Jack, who made the visit so much better. What a gentleman who was so passionate about him heritage and home that he took so much pride in. The rooms were so nice! Loved that their was a family room, so we could...

Driving through the Gorebridge area you would never guess there was a bed and breakfast of such quality as Ivory House. We arrived very late due to a long drive but were still met with a very warm welcome from Barbara and Jack. Barbara had very thoughtfully changed our booking into their adjoining Coach House to save the stairs on...

We stayed for two nights at Ivory House and our hosts; Jack & Barbara Maton treated us like long lost friends and made us very welcome. Jack told us to leave the car at their house and go into Edinburgh by bus, one & ½ pounds bus fare was much better than battling heavy traffic & exorbitant parking fees. Jack...

We stayed in the Tartan Room which as perfect. Jack and Barbara were absolutely perfect hosts!! Jack is an amazing cook.. my wife and I are both foodies and would have sworn that Jack had professional culinary training. Overall the stay was fantastic, quiet, comfortable and delightful company. We had nine days and were made to feel very welcome. Jak and Barbra make you feel as if you are long lost friends and show great interest in you. They also have wonderful stories to tell of their own adventures. Great pride is taken in maintaining this historical house and we were grateful for the upgrade to the self...

Stayed for a long weekend and had a fantastic time. Rooms are full of history and character; the owners, Jack and Barbara are so welcoming and Jack's cooked breakfast is to die for. On-site parking and easy drive into Edinburgh and lots of nice places to see on the way.

We stayed only one night at Ivory House, but would have enjoyed more. We were greeted at the door by our first names and immediately felt at home. Barbara made us tea in the common room while we settled in. The home is historic and the owners are very careful to maintain the charm and character. Our room "Louisa" was...

The owners are welcoming and helpful and our stay was pleasant. Breakfast was typical B and B. Use of the common room was a bonus as the weather wasn't good and it was nice to have somewhere else to sit and have tea. Judging by some of the other comments, I'm guessing the other rooms were larger than the one...

This place is a gem! We were moved here from another hotel nearby after some issues at the last minute and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Jack was a wonderful host and cooked a fantastic hearty breakfast in the morning. The rooms were decorated beautifully, the bed extremely comfy (we were in the tartan room) and the...

We were moved to Ivory House at the very last minute, as the hotel we originally booked nearby had some plumbing issues. We certainly weren't any worse off for it. The house is a beautiful property with lovely gardens. The welcome we received was great and felt very warm, this continued throughout our stay. The landlord Jack has some great...
