Detailed Reviews
I stayed here with my sister and brother in law for our weekend trip to Amsterdam last week. We booked through Groupon and we were all happy with the hotel. It was very clean, quiet and close enough to central (2 short tram rides), the staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful. Good sized room, powerful shower and controllable heating/cooling in the room. Just 2 areas I wasn’t overly happy about, there was no toaster available in the breakfast room, and there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms so you have to pay 2-3€ for a tiny (3 mouthfuls) cup of tea or coffee from the vending machine. But overall happy with the hotel and would stay again.

There are some weaker points inherently linked with the nature of the brand, so I will not mention nor take into account the spartan nature of the room.
Starting from the positives, I would say that the location is extremely well selected, a couple of minutes walk away from the tram stop. Moreover, the price can sometimes be competitive compared to other hotel establishments in Amsterdam, though not always. Also, the air-conditioning is not more noisy than expected, so that’s by definition an advantage. And that’s were the positives end.
On the other side, the rooms are not ergonomic, the beds are hard (though that’s a matter of personal preference, so I will be neutral on that one), the windows cannot open nor does the thin curtain (so one has to rely solely to the air-con, though maybe it’s for the best given the state of cleanliness of the windows), it was dirty pretty much everywhere and rather superficially cleaned (crisps on the bottom of the bed, a thick layer of dust on the sitting stools and the table, fabric particules on the bed linen, toothpaste on the shower walls, and the toilet floor could do with a good vacuuming) though admittedly the shower door was clean, and the walls allowed for a bit too much of noise to travel through. Also, to my surprise, though the pressure in the shower was constant, the water temperature would fluctuate from scorching hot to rather cold in a matter of seconds, so one has to anticipate and wash in instalments between the rhythmic change. The reception team is not terrible, but I wouldn’t call it exactly professional either; talking and laughing with colleagues about what you’ll do later may appear to some people as relaxed and almost friendly, but it’s simply not the way to perform the check-in.
Moreover, there is the choice of a limited cold breakfast buffet; it gets busy and dare I say borderline disorderly, and it doesn’t make for a pleasant experience, but at least the option is there for those who so wish.
Overall, I would say go for it if it’s for maximum 1 night and all you need is a place to crash and have a shower, but nothing more than that, and definitely without expectations.
Unfortunately it’s a no for me due to the cleanliness and the low quality of the stay but, unfortunately, everything has a price; if I’m ever forced without any other reasonable choice and with an extremely low price well below competitors, maybe I could reconsider, but it would be a big call.

I had a good stay at this hotel, having staying in many Ibis Budgets before, I knew what to expect-modern but basic.
I didn't mind this as we only needed the hotel to sleep after exploring all day and gladly, the bed was so comfy.
The room has no storage really except some hangers but we used the window sill to but our bags. We had a Table and 2 stools also in our room. The shower room was clean enough (bar some marks on the walls). You only get 2 towels for a double room, no handtowel and 2 tubes of hair/body wash (no hand wash). I knew this from staying in other Ibis so I brought my own shampoo etc. I paid a 20euro deposit for a hairdryer at reception and there are ironing facilities in the basement. Hotel lobby has a fab venting area with lots of drinks, snacks & toiletries. The location was about 25 mins from the centre on the 5 tram so easy to navigate. No issues with the staff. All in all I would stay here again as it was significantly cheaper than the other hotels just bare in mind that it's budget.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are glad to hear that you found our hotel to be modern and appreciated the comfortable bed. It's great to know that our location was convenient for you, with easy access to the city center via tram. We understand that our rooms are designed to be basic and efficient, and we appreciate your understanding in this regard. Regarding the limited storage and amenities in the room, we aim to provide essential facilities while maintaining affordability for our guests. However, we are happy that you were able to make use of the hairdryer and ironing facilities available at the hotel. We're also pleased that you enjoyed our Wundermart area in the lobby, offering a variety of drinks, snacks, and toiletries for our guests' convenience. Chose this hotel as it was close to my granddaughters uni, wish I’d stayed else where. On first walking into the room is appeared ok but on closer inspection it was very grubby, dirty marks on the doors, bits of fluff and hair on the floor. Thank goodness I had brought Dettol wipes with me so I could wipe all surfaces before touching anything, need better cleaning in these Covid times. We have been here 4 days now and the floor hasn’t been swept once since we arrived let alone washed and I don’t think this was done after the last guests left if I’m honest! clean towels every day but the dirty ones left in the shower, and not removed, the beds are sort of made but no clean sheets!
The restaurant is self service and the tables are never wiped after each use, bits of food on the tables and chair, very grubby, and I have never stayed anywhere in the world where a toaster is is not provided at breakfast! The select of bread/rolls is good with butter and Jams but it’s very unusual not to be able to toast it!
The hand sanitises are empty a lot of the time, I would not recommend this hotel!

My 3rd stay & still no complaints. Good price, friendly staff & close to the airport.
This time I was on the 12th floor, great views.
Maid came in to change towels/ make bed which I didn't expect as I was only there 2 nights.
Only minor issue I had was the slightly thin walls. My neighbours in 1222 were pretty loud! In & out of each others rooms, leaving the doors to slam shut 🙄
Small tip, the Albert Heijn supermarket at the roundabout does not accept any credit cards at any of the tills. Only realised this when my items were on the belt, I had no cash or debit cards & had to leave it all.

Really friendly staff as last time. Room was actually not to the same standard as my last visit no idea why when I booked the same. If you don't have a car this is really not the best location for you as it's a 30 minute walk to the train station despite what they say on the website. I have given this hotel a couple of visits now and to be honest i probably won't give it a third.

Horrendous even for a hotel with budget in the name!
Unfortunately had no choice but to book here for a couple of nights as my flight was cancelled last minute.
First of all the hotel cancellation policy is outrageous. You have to give notice by 2pm to cancel a booking, even if you book the hotel after 2pm? So due to this rule if you book a room past 2pm and want to cancel immediately you’ll be charged for one night for cancelling. Ridiculous.
Then, the state of the room is a joke. It had very obviously not been thoroughly cleaned after the last stay as there were marks all over the walls, dust on the floor, and the sheets did not smell fresh.
Really stingy as you only provide 2 teeny pillows in the room, a small towel per guest, no bin in the actual room and you can forget any extras such as a hairdryer or kettle. Housekeeping was pretty shoddy as the bed was half made and one of the nee towel we received was fraying and had a big tear in it.
Lastly, the shower was rubbish and blasted you with scolding hot water every 10 seconds and the door couldn’t close properly so water goes everywhere.
You can get way more for your money so would not recommend or stay again!

I've been staying frequently in this hotel since its opening. It is ongoing excellent quality. That means: value for money. The amenities are basic, but fully sufficient. High hygienic standards, I found everything clean. The staff is highly professional and helpful. The tram stop is a bit away, but will soon be right at the corner again. If you'd like a good coffee or a bite you do need to take the tram to go some place closer to town.
Minus point as to the rooms: it seems that not all rooms have a table. That is unacceptable and sub-standard. My room now happened to be 'without table' and just one plastic hocker. As I complained, a table was brought immediately, however, all rooms should always have a table!

Although it is a little way out of central Amsterdam this hotel is within easy reach by the excellent and easy to use public transport system. Rooms are as you might expect in a budget hotel - comparatively basic and compact but clean and with everything you need for a short stay. Bathroom facilities are good, and there are plenty of plug sockets and a tv in the room. Our room also had air con, which I assume applies to others. The overall decor and vibe to the hotel is colourful and modern.
There is a restaurant area on the ground floor where breakfast is served, and basic meals (pizza etc) are available until 10pm. There is an area in reception selling snacks, drinks and essential items which is self service/scan and therefore available 24hrs. Staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay, and we were able to store our bags on arrival as we were too early to check in.
The hotel is 3-4 mins walk from Kronenburg tram stop, where trams 5 and 25 will take you to Zuid station where you can catch a metro to Centraal station (52) or the stadium/arena (50), as well as onward trains. Tram number 5 also conveniently continues through towards the more central, touristy areas. A GVB travel card is good value for this and easy to use, either via their app or ticket machines.
Our stay was for leisure purposes, but I imagine this hotel would also be useful for business users given its proximity to the Station Zuid and Europaplein areas.

This was our first stay at this location, but it certainly won't be our last. We had a bit of a panic during the day about arrival times as trains were horribly delayed, however the reception team were kind and reassuring throughout. The hotel is located next to a tram stop (take Metro to Zuid and then tram 5 to Kronenburg) for easy access to the city centre and the room was clean and comfortable. We didn't have breakfast, and there is no bar or restaurant at this hotel, however a range of drinks and snacks are available at reception and it is possible to order in food. Reception staff were also most helpful with printing off our travel documents for the next day.

No, no hairdryer in the room. Mind you, sometimes there is quite literally just a bed (no chair, no table, nothing), so hairdryer would be pushing it…
There is certainly no iron in the rooms and I don't think there is the option to get one in the room as it would undermine their laundry service.
