Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's really peaceful & beautiful here, surrounded by fields. Our young son had his birthday during our stay and he was made a big fuss of by the manager - he was so thrilled! Breakfast is lovely, plentiful and there is lots of choice. You can borrow games to play in the garden - badminton, boules, croquet. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment which was clean and spacious. Best to hire a car to stay here, it's a 10-minute drive or one-hour walk into town. Skara Sommarland is nearby, and great for families.

We stayed for two nights in July. Initially, we thought the hotel was super quirky and cozy, although the rooms were of poor standard. The wifi was so-so. The exterior of the hotel is great and what you'd expect from the pictures. The maids dressed time-appropriate, which was cool. The staff was nice and we were overall happy with our stay... ... BUT the first night we smelled the fertilizer everywhere. We couldn't sleep with the window open in the summer because of the smell. Actually, we woke up in the middle of the night, bewildered and nauseated of the smell from the neighboring pig farm. This was a super let down. The other evening we ordered a glass each from the restaurant and sat outside. At 21-ish the smell surrounded us again. It destroyed the atmosphere completely. We don't blame the hotel for the smell, but it did pose as a big letdown on our part, unfortunately.

Visiting for a weekend seminar. A place with a lot of history! Charming old buildings. Good breakfast buffet, friendly service (but you had to tell what did you want!). We were lucky to get a highest floor room with an own balcony and own toilet and douche.

Very nice place, clean and cosy. Dont expect 5star hilton, but we enjoy our stay, for one night. Good price, nice breakfast, and good service from the staff. We come from Denmark, and was gooing til sälen for holliday. Nice to have one night at this place, only 5 hours from Denmark.

Very basic hotel, staff not very welcoming, room low standard. Had to discuss with receptionist about the inconvenience of every small item bought in bar/restaurant had to be paid for in cash ... instead of a invoice at the end of the stay "not possible" - "nobody complains" - "guest are running without paying bill" was the strange arguments ... never coming back

Passed Skara on my way from Växjö and slept overnight in this quaint mansion. I had read the reviews on Tripadvisor, some from beginning of the year were however not so positive. It turns out they recently changed management and as I understand it, things have been upgraded and renovated. All were in very good shape, including furnishing, rooms, etc. But I especially want to mention the warm and friendly service and excellent food. Had a fish/seafood bisque, turkey and creme brûlée. All delicious and presented in a way that a Michelin star restaurant could copy... Recommended and I surely will come back !

We stayed there for one night at the "Nobleman’s suite" (they told us that was the translation of the Swedish writing on the door) which consisted of two separate rooms and a bathroom done in retro syle. It was very well decorated, comfortable and spacious. The staff was kind, the dinner excellent as well as breakfast. We were delighted with everything. Recommended!

I stayed here in the main building one night on a business trip to check out some accommodations for future tourism development. Fantastic building, with a very nice ambience and lots of history. The room was nicely decorated and felt special, the bed of lower quality but sufficient and I still had a good night's sleep. I missed a clock in the room and the walls and door were quite thin, which could be difficult for light sleepers. The staff were very friendly and helpful, when they were around, and made a great effort. Apparently the hotel is used for some kind of staff training, but for me it did not affect my stay negatively. The breakfast was fantastic, not just nicely laid out but also with plenty of variety. I also had dinner in the restaurant which has a small menu, and have nothing to remark on it.
