The refuge is clean and well kept, a bit overpriced though given all the restrictions. All in all I had an amazing mountain experience as I met very interesting and helpful like-minded people among fellow hikers

We booked the stay through Volcano Life Experience, who provide several activities in the Teide national park. Altavista is a mountain hut, so one should not expect five-star accommodation. Yet, what we encountered left definitely a lot of room for improvement (especially considered the price)....More

Hi Please bear in mind that the Refuge may not have the facilities you need for attending a 4 year old child. Plus, s/he could feel sick due to altitude and the lack of oxigen.
