Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked 2 rooms for 1 night arriving 8th June departing 9th June. For personal reasons I had to cancel the stay which I did on Sunday 4th June - leaving 4 days for the hotel to take new bookings. I was told by the hotel that I had left it too late to cancel and that I was not even due a partial refund. Bear in mind that most of these hotels have a 24 hour or 48 hour deadline to cancel without penalty. The hotel did offer a stay at a later date and asked me to contact them to rebook. I have since sent 3 emails asking for availability for one room - the other guests are not able to attend so I only required one room instead of two. I am still waiting for a reply from the hotel. 2 more weeks have passed and I have still not heard from the hotel. I have lost 200 euros and Im very disappointed that the hotel did not honour their offer of staying there later in the year.

Response from Liset Fernandez, Dueño at Hotel Los Arcos
Responded 29 Nov 2023
Hotel Los Arcos, Ainsa

Stayed for one night on B&B basis. The hotel is situated on the very picturesque Plaza Mayor in Ainsa old town. The hotel does not have permanent reception. We arrived 30 mins before we anticipated and the door was locked. Another guest was kind enough to call a mobile number for us and the lady arrived a few minutes later to book us in. We had a double room which was nicely decorated, well appointed, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and very quiet. Great view out over the river valley. Plentiful breakfast of coffee, bread rolls, ham, cheese, fruit etc. The area around Plaza Mayor has plenty of bars/restaurants, which all started opening at about 20:00. Parking. There are now barriers preventing non resident vehicle access into Plaza Mayor even for drop off only. Tourist traffic is directed to the large public pay and display car park which is about 150 yards from the hotel and costs 30c per hour between 11:00 and 21:00. The cobbles in Plaza Mayor make it quite awkward for pulling suitcases along so be aware. All in all, this was a very pleasant experience and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We were able to drive right up to the door to unload, then go to the parking lot, a 5 min walk away, to park. Be aware that no one is there all the time, so you just call and she comes in a few minutes. No problem. The room we had was on the mountain view side of the hotel vs the Plaza and we were glad because of the great view and it was quiet too! Very comfortable and nice in every way. She accomodated us and prepared our delicious breakfast early both mornings because we had to leave for jeep trips. Being right on the Plaza was great as there was a festival one of the nights right there and it was really special to walk about Ainsa at night all lit up. Like a movie set!! Definitely stay in Ainsa and especially stay at Los Arcos.

By the time we got here near the end of a two week fantastic spanish vacation we did not think we could impressed again, either with the town or the hotel. We were wrong. This town is a fortified town on a outcropping with a small modern town below with a fantastic view of the Pyrenees. The hotel is right on the Square, and everything about it was perfect. It was clean, beautifully renovated, convenient, and comfortable. Everything worked as it should. We chose a view of the square, views on the back of the restaurant look at over the Pyrenees. The owner is Lisette and she was very helpful. You can park on the square after 7 PM until 1 o’clock the next afternoon. The town is stunning and the hotel fits right in. Everything works exactly as it should, it’s beautifully renovated and decorated.

The Landlady is very friendly and explains carefully how the Hotel runs. No-one is present at night but there is an honesty fridge and tea/coffee downstairs. We had a lovely room overlooking the Plaza Major with a bathroom and over bath shower. It was raining heavily that night and there were one or two leaks coming through the ceiling but we put that down to the age of the house. Breakfast is taken in the Cellar and is fairly simple. There was a poor choice of coffee. We were dining at Callizo so this hotel was very handy being only yards away.

This was a one night stop on our trip. We received a very warm welcome from Lizette and our room was very spacious nicely designed and clean and to top it off a very nice size bathroom with a jetted tub. A perfect choice situated right in the middle of Mayor Plaza.

Excellent hotel in amazing Ainsa. We stayed just one night en route through the Pyrenees and was in total awe of the place. Hotel full of character and rooms in keeping. Amazing views of the mountains behind and perfect location centre of the square. We arrived after normal hours at 10 pm but hotel very accommodating.

The hotel is located in the main square of Ainsa, which is full of bars and restaurants, but at the same time, not at all rowdy. The hotel itself is small, but the rooms are of an adequate size and have air conditioning. The breakfast is fine and there is also a room with tea/coffee making facilities which can be used at other times of the day. The lady who runs the hotel is friendly and welcoming.

Here for 1 night. Perfect location right in the middle of the old town. The room is super clean & decorated beautifully. The walls are made out of rocks. The bathroom is huge with a tub also very clean. The view from our window of the mountains is spectacular. Our check in reception was very smooth.
