In Santorini, the island of never-ending blue and the 4,000 years of civilization that provide an almost metaphysical aspect, in a unique atmosphere full of contrasts and mystery, full of images provoking the strongest of feelings, next to the picturesque village of Vlychada and just a few metres away from the black beach of Perivolos, inspired by the traditional Cycladean architecture, lies the brand new Sea Sound - White Katikies, a complex of luxurious residences and suites.

This is the perfect location if you want sun and relaxation and some quiet time. My initial reaction when I saw the room was that they must use a wide lense camera for the photos on their website as they are a lot smaller however this seems to be typical of Greek accommodation and it was basic small but lovejy. We chose a sea view with plunge pool which I would highly recommend. While the main pool area is fabulous it was lovely to have our own space and in 30 degrees heat the plunge pool was so welcomed. We had a little path then to a table and chairs on a raised platform on the shore which was also a lovely touch. At night we could sit on our patio with a glass of wine and hear the waves crash on the beach just perfect. The rooms were cleaned every day and the complex was gleaming. We were in the restaurant a few times and the food was lovely. Not a huge variation on choice and the lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu but food was freshly prepared and tasty. My only disappointment about the complex was the location. While it’s beachfront it’s at the quieter end of the beach it’s a good 20 min walk into perissa and not the most pleasant of walks. The beach isn’t the best for walking on with very soft volcanic sand but walking the beach will take 10 mins off your 20 min road walk. I would advise hiring a car the island is small so you would only need it for a few days. We hired a car for one day directly from reception for 40 euros better value than a transfer cost of 15 Euro each way to perissa or local restaurants. We also hired a quad bike for two days a must to experience the mode of transport everyone uses on the island great for day time exploring. I do like to have the option of visiting other restaurants and if you head to vylchada there is a fabulous restaurant called psaraki 10 mins from the complex great for viewing the sunset and the marina and the food is really delicious. We also tried Dimitrios also located here which had great reviews but I wasn’t impressed. In the other direction is a restaurant called Lava real authentic Greek food and fabulous it’s a 20 min walk from the complex but only 10 if you walk the beach. We had a really lovely relaxing stay in sea sound I would get a car just to have the flexibility to explore and have the option to try other restaurants. Definitely drive up to Fira and oia just to see them but equally as fabulous are the other areas on the beach side of the island and views of the sunset just around the corner of sea sound. We had a great trip.

The preparation for a Greek holiday during the covid situation was quite a concern having to obtain QR codes to travel, wearing masks on planes was strange to everyone. We knew the experience in Greece was going to be different but were not sure what. On arrival at the Sea Sound White Katikies we were met by Efi who took us around the property explaining how things work with Covid in play, we need not have worried the team had thought of everything. Our breakfasts could be taken in our rooms, around the pool, all in boxes and bags, everything we needed just different. Katerina was in charge of the food and bar area and nothing was too much trouble a real lovely generous person. Giannis was supporting Katerina in the bar and serving meals as part of a summer break from University, he is a great guy and was an asset to the team - Good luck for the future Giannis. As part of our deal we had half board which could be taken as lunch or dinner, whilst the choice options were limited what we got was of a good quality. The hotel was quiet but so was everywhere else we visited, the pool area was very clean and the sunbeds were very comfortable. Our white suite was as it indicates all white, but a typical greek room that was very nice and had all we needed.

The only reason for the 4 rather than 5 is the location. It is quite remote having said that reception will book taxis, there is a local bus stop nearby and there is the blue train which operates along the main road to Perissa.

The rest of the stay was perfect. We had a room with a private pool; both were kept spotless. During the 7 night stay the pool was cleaned at least three times early morning and the room was cleaned daily. Yes you have to put the toilet paper in the bin but I’d rather that than deal with the consequences of a blocked overflowing toilet.

The staff were all amazing very friendly and polite.

The breakfasts were typically Greek but adequate to start the day plus there were options to purchase if you wanted something else. There was yoghurt, fruit, cereal, bread, ham cheese, some additional sweet and savoury dishes and eggs.

At breakfast they will ask if you prefer lunch or dinner as a set menu. This was always a salad to start followed by a freshly cooked main then a desert. If you don’t like the main they were happy to offer an alternative, contrary to what’s been said before the food was fresh and hot. One day we were out for both lunch and dinner and we were provided with toasted sandwiches on our return.

The background music is pleasant and unobtrusive.

Thank you to the whole team for a fabulous stay.

I read the previous reviews and thought I was going to an ideal hotel, what I found was not what I expected. Four star no way, I think its got new owners, which may explain the discrepancy between the expected and the reality.
The reception and the cleaning were good, room great and the staff friendly, BUT and heres the thing, they are not the same people who run the kitchen and heres the problem. We went for 10 days the breakfast was ridiculous, museli, ham, cheese and last nights stale bread, the orange juice was sweet the coffee cold and the eggs, well they were cold too, We went half board, so got bed, breakfast and chose evening meal and were given coleslaw as a salad not an accompaniment, the dishes arrived cold , the service was awfully slow and we had a storm, where water was running through the bar and down the lights. We had a drink and yes I mean one each and spent more than 100 euros ,prices 7 euros for a fresh orange juice with our evening meal (each) rookie mistake should have read the menu with the price list , but come on really!!!! (and yes I mean a glass), We were lucky we had hired a car, so we could see the island, so managed to do some shopping to get goods for lunches and drinks that didn't cost the earth.
This hotel is about a mile from the nearest store, restaurant ,in fact anything, so they have a captive audience, we did relax and apart from the storm the weather was ok but cold in the evenings, but we did visit in May so we did take woolens.
I was surprosed that what was described as a pool bar was also the breakfast room, dining room, bar, so not really a pool bar and not by the side of the pool as we expected.
I was on the whole really disappointed ,if someone from the Sea Sound reads this my advice, stop serving cold food, the prices are ridiculous and look at how the pool bar / dining room is managed.

I don’t understand how this hotel has managed to get so many good reviews. The pool is nice, as are the grounds but the rooms are super basic and unfortunately I had the worst 7 nights sleep I think I’ve ever had in a hotel. The bed is rock hard, old and the pillows might as well not be there.

Our experience was far from good, we first got given the wrong room. After booking a 45sqm suite with kitchen and 2 balconies we were given a tiny double room with no kitchen. We had to spend the night there and the next day were left without a room from 9am until 1:30pm when we were eventually given the room we paid for.

These mistakes happen, but there was no compensation offered by the hotel at all. On top of that, we had planned to cook for ourselves (especially because I am pregnant and have certain dietary requirements I need to stick to) but of course for breakfast on the first day (when we had no room and no kitchen) we had to eat the hotel. The breakfast was pretty bad, cordial instead of fresh orange, and in general just a variety of sub standard food. Certainly far from what you would expect from a “4* luxury hotel”. The hotel had the cheek to charge us for this terrible breakfast that we had no choice but to eat because of their messing up the room.

The restaurant in general was terrible, nothing on the menu is fresh other than the catch of the day which is mind blowing when you are right by the sea!

It was such a shame to receive this kind of service when every trip to Greece we have been on has been the total opposite, with amazing hospitality no matter where we go. What a let down this place was. I would certainly not recommend it to anyone coming to Santorini, there are plenty of other better options on the island.

Do yourself a favor and book this hotel!!!
I have never felt so at home in any hotel. The staff was friendly, polite and very supportive, fulfilling all our needs. We even became good friends and they gave us great advice on what to see and helped us with the booking.

We had a beautiful sea-side room right off the beach, including a small private pool. The room was spacious, tasteful and clean, as was the bathroom. The only downside was the window connecting to the bathroom, a small privacy issue, but manageable.

The food was absolutely delicious. Every meal included a salad and a dessert and varied over the week. No two meals were the same and not a single meal was lacking, truly delicious.

One thing to point out, the hotel was in a somewhat remote location and not close to any towns, shops or attractions. I personally liked this aspect since it made for a relaxing experience, but you do have to rent a car to get around the island.

As stated before, do yourself a favor and book this hotel. We fell in love with the place, the food and the wonderful, supportive staff!

I stayed there for 1 week from 15th to 22nd October and travelled solo, one of the best holidays i have had. My stay was very comfortable and if you need somewhere to unwind and just chill from everyday life this is the place to go, Its quiet. Nothing is too much for the team there, they go out of the way to come and speak to and ensure you are comfortable and happy, find out how you are and help with any questions you might have ie places to visit, directions etc and once you go out and come back they find out how it was. Free taxi to and from the supermarket, minimum spend at the supermarket is €20 but you can spend that amount there quite quickly. I stayed in rm 26 best views for sunrise...bellissimo and it was 2 mins walk to the beach; never had a problem finding a sun lounger. Room was cleaned daily, beach was lovely except stony, marina and restaurants approximately 10 mins away. Food was delicious and never repetitive, although half-board dinner was always served with salad for starters and a desert afterwards so just had to pay for drinks which you pay for at the end of your stay. The hotel daily tax is very cheap, i think it was 50 cent per day. I went on a full day boat and coach trip of Santorini visiting the islands and local villages, shopping, walking up a volcano which was exhausting as it was uphill all the way but worth it, a visit to hot water springs, time to eat or swim or shop or all three, and watching the breathtaking sunset at the end of the visit in Oia all for €64 which also included transfers and a guide Thank you seasound for such a lovely hoilday, it was worth every penny, you made my stay enjoyable and relaxing and never felt alone even though i was a solo traveller and yes i would definitely go back. Even though it was October it was still hot. No qualms in recommending Seasound if quietness and relaxation is what you need.

had a fabulous stay at this amazing hotel. As other reviews have stated it is in a fairly quiet location, if you want to walk out of the hotel onto a strip of bars then this hotel is not for you. If you want a hotel with 5 star service, lovely home cooked food, and a peaceful relaxing holiday then this is for you. You can walk 15 minutes to the harbour where there are a few bars or a 15 minute walk along the beach takes you to some lovely bars and restaurants -we walked here a few nights - just take a torch.
We took a bus to Fira one day 10 euros return for 2 of us, hired a car for a day to see more of the island and took the bus to Perissa and had a leisurely stroll back with a couple of pit stops which took about 90 mins.

The rooms are are lovely and cleaned daily as is the pool.
All the staff are terrific but special mention to Katrina, Marina and Ian, they all go above and beyond to make your stay special. Katrina chatted to everyone to make sure everything was ok and even dropped us off one night at the bars to save us walking on the beach and just wanted to make sure everyone was enjoying their stay.
Marina went out of her way to change the menu to suit individual needs, my husband had a different starter every night as he is not a salad lover, just so accommodating.
We both had our birthdays whilst here and Katrina made it extra special - thank you so much.

Would definitely recommend and we hope to return next year.

Firstly the hotel complex is tidy and the apartment is clean and cleaned daily. The staff are so lovely, super helpful. We arrived at midnight and there was someone on the end of the phone who came quickly to take us to our room. The bar staff and great, helpful and polite.
Accommodation...although we opted for self catering we couldn't really cook anything. There is a fridge, 2 ring hob and a kettle. Not enough pans, cutlery etc. We have ended up eating out mostly and it is quite costly, around 15 euros for a main. Drinks are pricey too.
Location is ok but you need a car for definite. Outside the hotel it is a bit scruffy looking, not quite the santorini image we had in our heads. Go to Thira for that. Otherwise santorini is just like any other Greek island . The positive about the hotel is that it is peaceful and chilled and any drives out to the other end are 45mins max. Thira is about 30 mins. The next beach complex has water sports and bars its a 10min beach walk, if you can handle black sand, or a 3 min drive. I'd recommend Perissa to eat out, a little further up, 20 min drive. Lots of restaurants to choose from.
The pool area is lovely, not a crazy rush for beds and they are proper padded seat loungers. Pool towels are provided. There are also some beds on the private beach but sand is rocky and boiling.
All in all we have had a lovely week here and can't fault the hotel and staff at all.

Excellent staff, very accommodating, helpful and kind especially towards our children.
We stayed in an Apartment (2 adults and 3 children) which was perfect for us and it was cleaned daily. There was no toaster in the apartment which was the only thing we missed. Our kettle didn't turn itself off when it was boiled and the fridge had an unpleasant smell.
There is a taxi to a nearby supermarket which is free if you spend over 20 euros so that was ideal for the self catering apartments.
Watched the sunset a few mornings on the beach in our pyjamas, breathtaking views with sunbeds on the sand, and chairs onlooking the beach.
The hotel is quite remote. Luckily our children were more than happy playing in the pool and on the beach most days. You can walk 15 mins to a nearby marina, to watch the sunset but there is no pathway and when walking back in the dark there are barely any street lights.
We ate dinner twice in the restaurant, the food was amazing.
We got a bus to Fira one day which cost 9euros for 5 of us. Fira is absolutely stunning. We got a taxi back (45 euros) as the bus journey made us feel travel sick with the windy roads.
Overall, our stay was enjoyed by us all and this is a very lovely complex with great staff.

Hi! My experience staying at Sea Sound is that it is not close to the bus lines, but you can email them directly to verify and see what they say. If you only have 4 days and want to explore Santorini, I would recommend renting a small car for at least 1-2 days. You can get them inexpensively in most cases. It's worth it to get around and see all you want to see. If you were staying in Fira or Oia, the bus would be easier. But again, contact Sea Sound to confirm.
