We arrived on the afternoon of September 18th and were accommodated in the two-bedroom apartment 708. We had reserved 3 nights on half board basis, with included spa access. On arrival, we were impressed by the impressive size of the complex, the flower decoration and cleanliness. Our apartment was very clean, with well equipped kitchenette with all the necessities and pleasant view. The apartment faced a construction site next to the tennis court and the very close passing ski lift, but luckily it wasn’t too bad, probably because we arrived in the middle of dead season - we discovered later that we were total of only 9 guests in the hotel. I found out the exact number of hotel guests from a printed dinner guest sheet, left on the reception desk in a way that everyone passing through reception may see it. This printed sheet included the full names of the guests, their room, gender and age, which made me feel uncomfortable simply because no one asked me for permission to publicly reveal my personal data, which simply breached the Bulgarian Personal Data Protection Act. Moreover, because the limited number of guests we received very limited service, delivered by limited number of staff, with no trace of hotel manager(s), supervisors or someone to whom I may address my complaints. The receptionist told us that majority of staff are in holiday. Despite our pre-paid spa access, no spa staff were present. During our first day, one man from Security came to show us how to use a remote controller to turn the jacuzzi on and gave us towels. He was unable to turn the swimming pool jacuzzi on, which was a shame. I was very keen to book a massage or some kind of spa treatment for my muscle pain, but either no spa therapist or spa receptionist were present. We were left in a spa on self-service basis, which concerned us, simply because no one was around to help us in an event of emergency. The gym was locked as well. My auntie complained that in the swimming pool the chlorination was too high- complained of itchy skin while swimming and redness. Her swimming costume was damaged by the high chlorination and chemicals in the swimming pool. Please see the attached pictures. During our 3-night stay I sow no one checking the chemical in the swimming pool and jacuzzis. Also, because of the total 9 hotel guests, we had very limited choices of food- 5 items to choose for breakfast and 5 for dinner, absolutely the same menu every day, which was big disappointment. No options for vegetarians or vegans. Please see the attached pictures. Only one gentleman was present to serve us as a barman and waiter. The food was served after 30-40 minutes, which also disappointed us. Additionally, we found inappropriate hotel staff to sit for chit-chat in the lobby bar and drinking. Once, just before 17:00, we sow 2 maintenance workers to sit with the receptionist, one of whom was drinking alcohol (yellow drink, maybe rakia). I called the receptionist to complain that the jacuzzi next to the steam rooms was empty, but she handled my complaint poorly, without even to apologise. Also, on the day of our departure, just after 7:30, we saw around 10 staff members (in uniforms) drinking their morning coffees in the lobby bar, which let us know that the hotel was left with limited (or maybe without) management staff. On departure, I expressed my disappointment to the receptionist saying that we are very disappointed from our stay in Kamelia, I mentioned that we fought inappropriate hotel staff to sit and drink in the lobby bar, and that I (with numerous years hotel and spa experience in England and Bulgaria) found the hotel management very poor, which is a shame because the Apart hotel Kamelia is beautifully built complex. Is that hard to make 9 hotel guests happy? After my complaint, adding that I will share my experience in TripAdvisor, the receptionist charged us with additional 15 BGN charge for using spa robes. This was not mentioned to us when the security man gave us the spa robes. Elsewhere the spa robes are given complimentary, especially if you have spa access included to your booking. This was another evidence that the Apart Hotel Kamelia was managed poorly- instead apologies for our disappointment, the receptionist charged us for something that we were not aware. Two stars is very generous compared with what we experienced, but I am grateful for the housekeeper who cleaned our room every single day. I hope, other guests have better experiences. If we come back in Pamporovo, we will definitely choose another hotel to stay in, but not Kamelia.

Nice place to stay and work in the fresh air. Excellent place for digital professionals with green trees and plenty of spring flowers. Smolyan, Shiroka luka, Gela and Rozen are close for traditional, scientific and historical journey.

I can only speak positive about our stay at Kamelia. We rented a one-bedroom apartment for our family of four. It was equipped with everything we need - a kitchen with all appliances incl fridge, hob, microwave, kettle and all kitchenware you can possibly need, dining table & chairs and a comfortable sofa bed. Bathroom as well had all necessities. The bedroom had a large king size bed, a desk and a chair, which were quite useful as I can to work for some of the time during our stay. The rooms were very warm and we had a nice balcony where I could enjoy a cup of tea looking over the forest in front of us. The TV had a channel broadcasting directly from the cameras at the kids playground, which was quite useful. The hotel has 3 restaurants - one main restaurant where buffet breakfast is served, a BBQ and another more traditional style more of a private place. They also have room service, which was useful. Food was delicious. Breakfast had variety of options from cereals, eggs, veggies, pancakes, salami, croissants - really quite a large selection. They also offered a 30% discount at the guest house on the slopes, where we always had lunch. The hotel has a large and well equipped kids playzone, with facilities for small kids (perfect for my 2 year old), as well as for older kids, incl billiards, jaggy, etc. There is a professional animators at all times looking after the kids and entertaining with certain games and activities at certain hours. The spa area as well is very well equipped with a swimming pool where water is at 30 degrees changed daily, no chemicals are used and there is a lifeguard. There is also a jacuzzi, sauna, etc. The massages are amazing (I went every night). The place is very clean. There is a ski depot within the hotel where you can rent equipment or if you have your own you can leave it overnight. There is a piste for beginners outside the hotel with two ski tows which is very very convenient. The hotel offers daily kindergarten services which includes a ski instructor for two hours, lunch and free playtime in the indoors playground. There is also a play ground outside. The hotel is conveniently located 200m from the slopes and main ski lifts area. There is also a regular shuttle for those who are carrying equipment or with small kids. I must say that all hotel staff was very friendly, smiling, attentive, and acting very professionally. All Covid19 measures were kept, even masks were provided free of charge in open public areas. Overall our stay was excellent, relaxing and enjoyable, it was our first visit but for sure won't be the last and we are looking forward to returning again very very soon!

Just wanted to give our honest feedback of the holiday for others to use for guidance on booking their own. We booked through Snow-White Skiing as recommended by a friend. They did a great job and all was taken care of. The service was excellent and we had everything we needed. The transfer minibus was waiting for us at the airport with a friendly helpful driver despite the flight being delayed due to bad weather in the uk. We had a nice drive to the hotel and after a 3 1/2 hrs were in the hotel. The hotel was clean, rooms well presented with new furniture and a plate full of sandwiches, fruit and water for each of us which was a nice thought. The buffet in the restaurant was good, a large selection of food with most requirements covered which our kids loved. The luke warm food that Bulgaria serve too some getting used too though. The next morning with ski's picked up from the Melina centre and we were away. The ability of the group was quickly ascertained with all levels catered for by friendly teachers. The ski lifts were decent and better than i was expecting, some more modern than others but all seemed reliable and staff quick to help those who weren't confident in their use. The evening meal was also fine, again a lot to choose from and selections that varied each day. Staff at the hotel however have a bit to learn when it came to manners and friendliness, a few times i had to bite my tongue when i was far from impressed by their attitude although there were a large number of staff on hand to clear away any unused plates. Maybe the somewhat miserable staff is common but it is not like any country I've been too before where it is in the minority. There were exceptions to this rule however as some staff, namely the lady who greeted us daily at the restaurant and the female carer in the kids club was always lovely to deal. The somewhat unfriendly, miserable staff seemed to also afflict other areas of the resort so i began to think it was more of a way of life than just hotel employees. Over all we were very happy with the holiday and there was little to taint the experience. Our only minor gripe was getting to the slopes every day, you either carry your gear to the hotel which is a 10 min walk from the slope and leave it in the hotel garage or you ski to the bottom and get a taxi, we couldn't find another viable alternative with young children. as the minibus was regularly full. Taxi's were regular however and quite cheap. Galina who was our contact at the resort was great though, she was just who you need when you didn't know where to go or what to do - this made things much easier to sort. The Kindergarten as Melina also deserve a special mention as they did an excellent job of looking after our 4 year old all day, taking them out for dinner and getting them on ski's etc - highly recommended and very cheap too. Overall we had a great time and would definitely go back with the same arrangements.

I have stayed here twice and both times have been very good overall. The half board food is of good quality (better in our opinion than others in the area). The restaurant is busy at peak times but we never failed to get a table and there were 8 of us eating together most of the time. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious with a large lobby for the usual ski paraphernalia. There is a ski wardrobe (best described as compact!) which does detract a little, it easily needs to be twice the size. The spa is lovely but do expect it to be busy at peak times (because its really nice and you will want to go back!), if you really want a long soak in the Jacuzzi finish a hour earlier and its normally empty! WiFi only really works in the lobby but there's plenty of 4G so we just hot spotted a phone. If you are travelling from UK/Ireland Snow White Skiing (Pippa Wilson) can do a hotel/ski pack/transfer deal that is very reasonable and efficiently organised, we have used them for Pamporovo on multiple occasions now.

I haven't been at this hotel for a couple of years but was very disappointed at my last visit. We were friends and families for 5 days at the end of February and the hotel was pretty full. The SPA can accommodate max 2-3 apartments at a time, which we were aware of, but the restaurant was also very crawded, noisy and uncomfortable. Some of the staff at the reception, restaurant and the ski wardrobe were inattentive and careless with the attitude of- the customers do not have any other choice but to be there and use the facilities that the hotel can offer. The advantages of the hotel are the location and the comfortable size of most of the apartments, but is not sufficient to keep customers returning.

We stayed 4 nights at two bedroom apartment. First of all the hotel personnel are far from kindness. They are rude and with long faces. They were not helpful at all. The apartment’s floor was filthy and never cleaned at all. The sheets and towels are old and never renewed at all. The jacuzzi area dld not seemed hygienic. The pool is very small. The only good thing about this hotel that it is close to the ski lifts.

Now traveling back home I’m reflecting on how grateful I’m to Stefan and Emil who made my 1st steps in skiing so easy, safe and joyful! They helped my children last year in getting better and more confident in skiing and would like to THANK them from our entire family! It will be a pleasure to come again :)
