Family ski holiday.
Although this hotel is a good bit better than its 3* neighbour, do not be fooled by the star rating. At the door it suggests 5*, social media suggest 4.5* but in real life it’s only just a tired 4. I can see that in its hey day it might have been better, but not now. The staff are all pleasant and helpful but it feels as though it is trading on past glory.
The rooms all have balconies with views that improve as you go up the levels. The room we had was a good size, well appointed, clean and fresh. The random coffee table at one end could have really done with a couple of chairs to finish the room off.
Breakfast, served in the hotel dining room, was well presented and comprehensive however the evening meal for the half board option was served in the adjacent Perelick hotel. Decent enough fare by Bulgarian standards but a pain to have to trot across the road to eat.
However, get used to that road. The money exchange bank had also been relocated to the Perelick, the ski bus ( if you wanted a seat) also left first from the Perelick as well as the covid testing centre and the bowling alley.
As for the afore mentioned road. Although part of a one way system, local drivers abandon their cars all over the pavements leaving barely enough space for cars to pass. This forces pedestrian onto the polished ice road and playing chicken with the traffic. I think I saw as many people on their back sides on the road as I did on the ski slopes. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have just one pavement in a resort for all the people out and about.
Having paid a premium to not stay in the 3*, I had expected better of the busses to the ski centre. The quality of an ageing fleet of mini busses leaves a lot to be desired. Along with dodgy drivers prepared to cram an extra 10 standing into an already full 15 seater. Seat belts appear not to have made it this far and covid mitigations essentially went out the window. Passing up on this transport meant another long wait often then missing the start of ski lessons.
The only saving grace was the fantastic skiing and ski school once on the hill and the always on tap assistance from the knowledgeable Travel Solutions team in resort who did what they could.
I am still looking for the best hotel in Pamporovo, but I will definitely be back to ski.

Would you actually be better off in the Perelick across the road?

Stayed for a week in Feb for skiing with family. Hotel and room was lovely and clean. Staff were pleasant. Room was very warm but we just opened the door to the balcony. Towels changed each day and beds made.
Breakfast was a let down. Hot food was cold unless you had omelette or crepes, but this meant you had to wait in line. I did ask if they had a microwave but the girl just pointed to the kitchen and said cooker? Also they need to invest in a bigger toaster. A two slice toaster really isn't big enough.
Both my daughter and myself went for a message in the spa, and it was worth it.
Pool is small but if you just want to relax after a days skiing its grand.
Bus runs every morning to the slopes, we never waited more that 5 min and again in the afternoons.
Would I stay again, we probably would.

Arrived late in evening, packed sandwiches and snacks ready for guests as meals were finished. Hotel was decorated in modern style, welcoming and helpful staff at all times. Rooms were lovely, clean, spacious, beds comfortable, toiletries in bathroom, bath robes etc. Appeared that many rooms had balconies facing the ski centre. Room was cleaned daily to very high standard. Food was buffet style, plenty of choice each day, staff quick to clear and tidy tables once meals finished. The spa was also clean, good facilities, had a massage following a few days skiing, really helped with the aching muscles! The hotel has equipment storage at the ski centre so you don't have to take your skis/ boards and boots on the shuttle transport each day. There is also storage at the hotel you can use if you wish. Overall we had a good holiday and will go back.

This was our second visit to the Orlovetz and it just gets better. The staff are welcoming and work tirelessly. The rooms are spacious and clean and fresh towels and bath robes provided during our stay. The food was always good, as some previous reviews state it can be not as warm as we are used to back home but I did not find this a problem as it was always tasty and well presented. There is a microwave if you need it. The bus transfer to the slopes was always on time and only takes max 10 mins. The pool and spa area is good, steam rooms and saunas available to use which is a must after a day skiing. I would return to this hotel when back in Pamporovo

We could not fault this Hotel . Staff were friendly and helpful , went out of their way to help celebrate my sons 21st birthday. The food was lovely with cold and hot buffet , the rooms were great with fantastic views . Shuttle bus picked up right outside door to door. Was clean and the beds very comfortable. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend for families . The Irish bar “Daks” opposite was very lively , and also bowling in the Perelik
Hotel , and a small casino nearby . Other activities available such as skidoo and snow mobile . Had a five star weeks holiday !!!

This has always been a beautiful hotel but the rooms have been redone and it is even better now. The staff are friendly, the covid measures are sensible and the rooms are great. Bathroom facilities are superb, with a walk-in shower and almost instant hot water. The beds are comfortable and there’s good hanging space. The only criticism I would level is that there are no drawers for storage.
Location is fantastic and access to the sister hotel, the Perelik, is easy. Cross the road or use the underground passage if you don’t want to be out in the cold.
Cannot recommend this hotel enough.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and everything was great again.
The food is nice and the spa area is great.
Rooms are kept clean and comfortable with a mini bar and tea and coffee.
I love resident cat Alfonzo and it’s nice that the hotel care for him.
Shows it is nice people that own the hotel.
The ski bus is very regular and you don’t have to wait about for it.
We will definitely stay at this hotel when we visit again.

Have just returned from a week at this hotel. Great comfort to return to after a tough day skiing. Very comfortable, spacious room on the fourth floor with stunning views of the slopes. We had breakfast and dinner included. Buffet style and while it was excellent, tired of it after a few days and so went out for dinner on one evening but that is just a personal thing. Staff were very nice and helpful. Pleasant evening entertainment. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend staying here. This is by far the best choice in Pamparovo and I believe the Perlik Hotel is just as good.

Room very fine. SPA - very fine but pool is very small. Restaurant ok but at breakfast people are waiting in line for cofee as only one machine.....odd for 5 stars. Hotel facade on the room balcony side not renovated and the wood looking poor and rotten. Personnel was friendly and helpful but we had some misunderstandings about room minibar.Parking place finding is a problem and indoor parking cost 5 Euro/day

Yes, they have small refrigerator in the room. If you are planning to visit Pamporovo in winter, you can use the balcony as a refrigerator!
Ιt is not that close. Definitely not a walking distance. But, as I said, this is not a problem since there's a shuttle bus available every 15'.
