Far from the big hotels, secluded in the silence and the scent of the forest, nestled in the shade of the pines, here you will find everything you lack in everyday life. “Malina” is the destination for relaxation, sports, reflection, walks, views and photos, but above all for shared and unforgettable time. Pamporovo is one of the most attractive and visited mountain resorts, which offer great conditions for rest and tourism, both in winter and in summer. The Malina complex is located in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains, in close proximity to the resort’s ski slopes and lift. Only 11 km. separate the complex from the folklore and cultural reserve village of Shiroka Laka, and for nature lovers, the region offers a wide selection of caves, waterfalls and eco-trails with magical views – the “Bride” Eco-trail (9.4 km. from the complex) and others. During the winter months, the resort of Pamporovo becomes a paradise for passionate skiers and snowboarders, offering some of the best slopes

Detailed Reviews
We booked our trip here with Pippa from Snow White Skiing. I was a bit worried when reading the reviews, but confident that Pippa wouldn't send us somewhere unless it was nice.
The house/chalet has everything that we need and is lovely and warm. The resort is nice and quiet and only a few minutes walk to the ski slope!
We booked to be half board and the food is amazing! Lots of choice for both breakfast and dinner which are both buffets. The staff are friendly and helpful.
We would definitely stay here again!

The chalets in Malina village were generally very good. We were very impressed when we first arrived, they are a lovely size, very comfortable and nicely furnished. they would comfortably sleep two adults and two children, probably not good for any more people due to lack of storage space for clothes etc, although they could potentially sleep up to 6. they have a very decently equipped kitchen, particularly good if you are half board / B&B and want to make lunches etc, although i would say definitely take a travel kettle if you like cups of tea/cofffee as there is nothing much to heat water in. the chalets were generally kept clean and serviced every day, although the maids dont tend to make the beds very well. the food in the restaurant was varying, the choice was not always fabulous and some nights were better than others. go early to dinner and breakfast or it tends to get cold as it is self-service/buffet food and is not very well reheated. bulgarian food is generally colder than english, so be prepared for that. the waiters were very attentive and polite, in general all the staff were good. overall i would definitely say they are value for money, it is really niice to have your own little chalet and I woudl recommend them to other people, although be prepared for Bulgarian traditions!

We stayed during Feb 2012 half term week and really enjoyed our time there. We struggled to find many recent reviews of the cottages so thought this would be helpful for other travellers!
So here you go:
Positives - really warm, cosy, loads of charachter, clean, good choice of breakfast (hot and cold). Very close to the slopes, only 5 mins walk away. The cottages have a really quirky feel and you do feel like you have your own little wooden house. Minibar is really good too with wine, spirits, chocolate and crisps ( reasonably priced too).
Downsides - storage is lacking a bit, bring some extra hangers not sure if 4 people would have enough room to store their stuff? Its 2 miles into Pamporovo centre from the cottages and a return taxi is £15 but some of the restaurants will pick you up and drop you off which we didn't know until towards the end. Also no kettle so bring a travel one. Would also be good to bring a tea towel and a sponge for cleaning your cups as they don't do them either. Probably my fault but I didn't realise they didnt have a bath I think I saw bathroom somewhere and thought that meant it had a bath!
To be honest for the money we paid for a week (£300) to have your own little chalet you can easily see past its faults. We would definitely book again and thought Pamporovo was a fab ski destination.

Generally speaking, Pamporovo is a big mistake to go for skiing…few slopes, high prices for the (lack of) quality, to avoid !
The accomodation was dissapointing, basic without anything wow.
The air is very poluted, the prices for renting skibequipment are high amd the price for ski pass is high compared with other local place. I will never come back again!!!!

With our 8 years old son we stayed at Malina Villa 12 from 25th of January till 31st of January,2018. Its totally a dissappointment & humiliating experience for us. On the first hand, if you insist on staying at this “hotel” do prefer residences cause at the villas there is a “stair” called “danger” that is I think technically not suitable, so straight like you’re in a sailing boat and only access to go to toilets during night. My son fell down from the stairs on the second day, hopefully we were lucky that he did not brake his neck, just get his mouth bleeded and some bruises on his waist, arms and legs!!!
Communication is impossible with stuff unless you know Bulgarian!!!
Cleaning is another issue, they only vacuum for 10 seconds everyday and empty your trash-can. No towel changing, and hygene at the bathroom. Further more, cleaning ladies did not bother entering your room even you are at the toilet or dressed in your underwears!!!
But for us the worst part of this experience is being humiliated and insulted by the reception stuff and even the manager!! of the hotel. Although it is clearly written on their web page , even promoted by saying “And what about the open fireplace in front of your villa? Collect wood in the forest and make barbecue. Close to the villa you will find the necessary metal grill.” we unfortunately learn in a very rude way that they hate you when you make open-fire in front of your villa. On the first day we arrive we ask for woods from reception to make a fire-place and they sent wood twice without saying anything or with any notice. On the second night when naturally again we start to prepare our open fire, they shouted and called us “thief”!!! After this humiliating and not acceptable behaviour I went to reception desk to talk with the manager hoping to smooth down the situation and at least to receive an apology, manager herself kept the same rude behaviour. There is only Miss.Denitsa who sincerely apologize for the rude behaviours of her colleagues. And on the day we checked out they charge 12,50-Euro for a sheet-metal cylinder which they call “recycle-bin”!! but before us used as a open-fireplace equipment. Plus 1,5-Euro for a cracked glass again which is already cracked before our accomodation and which we ask them to change.
I’m still very sorry and upset to be exposed to such a rude, unacceptable and a long way away from hospitality behaviours. Shame on you Malina Management!!!

I was there for 5 days for skiing with friends. Communication is a huge problem as nobody speaks or understands English. They are extremely rude to the guests and do not make you feel welcome. Nobody offered any help with the luggages at check-in and we had to drag them under heavy snow conditions on a snow covered trail. Our room was also extremely cold and they had to bring in additional heaters just to maintain an average temperature. Also in terms of hygiene it not a place you want to be in. They never cleaned the bathroom during our stay of 5 days! The cleaning lady comes in to only vacuum the living room for max 5 mins then leaves, sometimes leaving it even dirtier than before. I strongly recommend you choose an alternative location to stay if you do not want your vacation to be ruined.

On first arriving at Malina Villas in the middle of the night, we were greeted by welcoming staff and shown to our chalet. It was lovely and warm even though it was snowing outside! The accomodation was basic and not really as I had pictured it from the travel broucher. It was perfect for skiing though! We had two couples staying and had to pick who was going to have the triple bed and who was going to get the smaller room with twin beds! Upstairs was a lot colder than downstairs and the stairs were the 'half' stairs - the type that allow only one foot on.
We were half board so had a 3 minute walk to the restaurant where we were greeted by lovely, attentive staff and cold food! The choice of food was exactly what you want after skiing - stew, casseroles , pastas, soup etc only it was disappointingly cold but that's the way the Bulgarian's eat their food! The salads were lovely!
The skiing was great! Lots of snow but lots of skiiers too! At the beginning of the week all the beginners are littered over the gentle slopes around the ski/boot centre and start lessons at 10 am. The ski lift to the top gets very busy around this time too! As the week progresses all the beginners start to use the green run which also get very busy. But to be expected during half term week! The price for food can vary depending on how high up the mountain you go! Carry 1 leva coins to pay for the toilets - they are rarely free!
The ski school was good aswell. We had a lovely instructor. It would have been good to have changed groups half way through week as our group had a lot of children and unconfident skiiers. Be warned - be very careful when skiing! I ended up having key hole surgeory on my knee due to nasty fall! You never think it's going to happen to you! I would advise that you carry on you any insurance papers, EU health care card and credit/debit card! The medical aid at the ski centre is all private care so be expected to pay if you do get hurt!
Maria, the Inghams rep, is lovely! She was really helpful and spoke fantastic English!

We have visited Pamporovo as a group of 7 (4 adults and 3 children).Malina Village was what we were looking for.The children absolutely adored this place. The houses, built in a pine tree forest, were very warm.A living room,a well equiped kitchen and a bathroom at the ground floor and two bedrooms at the first floor.Free parking, free wi-fi,friendly staff, very good breakfast, excellent and cheap food at the restaurant. It is a five minutes walk to the slopes, where you can find ski schools, ski kit,4-5restaurants.
I would stay at Malina Village again.

Being novice skiers we judged Bulgaria to be the place to go, and moreover its incredibly cheap. Having only ever skiied in Austria before (never again !) we were impressed by the 'modern' facilities. The Malina Village was exactly what we were looking for. Our own 'log' cabin, the biggest bed i have ever seen and more than adequate facilities. The 'cabin' was toasty warm and welcoming although it may be a bit cramped if more then 2 adults were staying due to lack of storage space. The resort ticked all our boxes and the snow was just incredible. The food is cheap but choosing from the menu was sometimes a little bizarre and always ask for your meat to be well cooked, they serve pork and chicken rare! Booze sooooo cheap, it would have been rude not to! We were so impressed we are taking all the family for Christmas. Go on give it a go, you cant go wrong.

I personally would think so. I have stayed at Malina 3 times for the past three years and have seen a lot of families with young children there. If you are going in the snow season there is a ski kindergarten which provides food and ski lessons for toddlers; on the other hand, if you are going in none ski season the wild life and great nature is amazing there if you are into this kind of stuff. There is also a small play area for children in the villa complex.
Our villa did not smell like cigarettes at all. It was very clean.
