Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

7 night stay over the Christmas and new year period. Our hot tub was not working properly for the duration of our stay. The park manager suggested that we would be compensated for this. I wish I had recorded the conversations with him.. As when we arrived home, the offer of compensation was 50% off our next stay. I really do not understand how compensation can be offered by us having to pay more money towards an experience we should have had! Then to be accused of just wanting a free stay!!! Shocking customer service! The park was unfinished, there was no pool, that was sold to us upon booking either. The park is far too inexperienced to run as more than a pitch up site! So Steve, as you suggested I do, I am leaving a bad review! I would not recommend this novice! holiday park! Spend your hard earned money somewhere else!

If I could give more stars I absolutely would, the lodge was beautiful and has been built to a really high quality, the staff couldn’t be more lovely and helpful the whole time we were guests. The only con I could possibly give was the outside area could be more private, which I can say they have done what they can for the moment but you can tell the shrubs are still growing which will create privacy but at the moment I felt like people were having a nosey as they walked by. The bed was absolutely huge and the bathrooms were lovely and clean. I will definitely be returning, and I have already recommended to family and friends. Thankyou for a wonderful stay.

One of our favourite sites... only 40mins from us, yet a world away.. Very clean, neat, tidy and always a warm friendly welcome. The bar is a great addition too, so campers get to gather and meet... I have suggested a pool table and/or darts... so may be next time ;-) There are great walks along the canal to both viaducts through tunnels. Nearby pubs are a warm welcome on cold winter walks... In the warmer weather we take our canoe on the canal, just a short walk over the road...great paddling through the pitch black tunnels !! with a torch of course.. :-) We will continue to return here....all year round.. Thank you Foxtail...

Greeted by friendly and helpful staff. The pitch was huge and the facilities spotless. We had a walk along the canal and food at the Poachers pub over the road from the site which was excellent. The on-site bar is a great addition and dog friendly. We look forward to returning very soon.

Great site, good size, level pitches so no levelling blocks needed. Facilities spotlessly clean, staff really friendly and helpful. The bar onsite was welcoming and Dog friendly too. We came for a long weekend to revisit an area we haven't been to for years. It appealed, apart from anything else, as the site is only an hour from home. We were able to drive out to Llangollen and the Horseshoe pass, visit Chirk, the aqueduct and Oswestry. Mobility for me is not great but I know there are good walks from the site and within an easy drive for those that like walking. Check out the butcher in Chirk - fantastic range of meat and a deli too. Good castles locally and good pubs for food. Try the Stonehouse Brewery for excellent food and beer. Others mention road noise, yes it is noisy but we expected that as the site is next to the A5. Did we sleep well? Yes we did and will visit again as the site and area have a lot to offer.

We stayed in a 2 bedroomed Lodge Friday 5th-Monday 8th January and had a fantastic weekend. We were welcomed by a lovely lady on reception who showed us (literally ran in front of our car bless her) to our lodge. There was a car parking space per lodge right in front of the door. The heating was on, the place was immaculate and we had a bottle of fizz waiting for us- such a lovely touch. There were hand, bath & hot tub towels for everyone and soap, body wash & shampoo in the bathrooms. We unpacked, we've never had as much storage space it was great! A double wardrobe in both bedrooms and loads of drawers. We headed out back towards reception to have a couple of drinks in the new bar. What a great add on (I was told the original plan was for a swimming pool but I definitely think the bar was the best idea) we were welcomed by the friendly lady on the bar and the prices were reasonable (£10 for 2 pints of lager and a coke) we headed back to the lodge and ordered food from star pizza. Lovely food, ordered over the phone and hubby met the driver at reception when he rang us. We all slept really well, beds were comfortable and the heating was set to a perfect temperature. Tvs in the living room & both bedrooms which we could sign in to netflix on. We had a few hours out shopping at Cheshire Oaks which was only 30 mins drive away. The hot tub was AMAZING. Perfect that it's under cover aswell! We ordered Chinese takeaway from wong-wong, again ordered over the phone and met the driver at reception. The kitchen in the lodge was well equipped. The sofas were comfortable. The shower was hot and powerful. We had Sunday lunch over the road at The Poachers. Fantastic pub (I believe its having a kitchen refurb and not reopening until 22nd Jan but would highly recommend it!) All the staff we met over the weekend were lovely, chatty, friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. I'm a very light sleeper so my only criticism would be the road noise which can't be helped! But something to be aware of. We've had a fantastic time and would definitely return. Thanks ❤️ The Andersons x

The site itself is beautifully maintained with lovely lodges onsite in addition to the pitches. A very friendly welcome, however not for us due to the horrendous and constant road noise. Like sleeping on the hard shoulder. We were due to stay 2 nights, including New Year’s Eve, however we left after 1 night. If road noise doesn’t bother you, this site is lovely! Waste of money for us - the road is marked on the site plan, be aware there are no measures implemented to reduce the impact of the noise pollution.
