As with any hotel, if you are respectful to the staff, they will address any concerns that you have. I have chosen this hotel several times and will stay at the Royal Hotel in the future. Good food, nice clean rooms, very helpful staff and great pool and dining area. Do not be pretentious...if you want the Waldorf Astoria, then...

Stayed here for a few days with a group of friends, my first visit to T & T. Fairly basic and somewhat tired hotel compensated for by attentive and helpful staff. Rooms are just about OK and clean. Nice outdoor seating area for breakfast.

The hotel has a laid back and tired feel about it, but then you are in Trinidad. where everything has a laid back feel about it. Trinidadians are very friendly and welcoming, and the hotel is no exception. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bedrooms are OK and the beds comfortable, but the bathrooms are a bit basic and...

My daughter and I stayed at the Royal Hotel for 5 nights (Sunday to Friday morning). The property is average but the service is excellent. The staff, including receptionists, waitresses, housekeeping maids and grounds personnel were efficient and friendly. When we arrived on Sunday night, the security showed us to our room and a helpful security gentleman helped us with...

Once you get outside of the capitol of Trinidad, Port of Spain, the quality of commercial hotels drops rapidly. The Royal Hotel definitely falls into that description. The people are certainly nice. Barely serviceable is about the best I can say about the room. Cleanliness issues and sink problems marred the bathroom. A roving ant colony and a few centipedes...

This was just shy of a week stay at the Royal Hotel. The price of the room included the continental breakfast. The rooms were a good size with ceramic flooring. The washroom was very functional and there was a real door to the room. The extras were that they had soap, shampoo, water bottles, instant coffee/tea, an electric kettle and...

I spent about six days at this hotel accompanying my husband on a business trip, Like the other reviewers, the hotel is not one to shout home about, but it is clean and comfortable. I found the staff very pleasant and helpful. Since I stayed in the room for long periods, whenever the cleaners came (and they came at reasonable...

I stayed for one night at the Royal Hotel on a recent business trip. There is a decent reception with decent staff. Nothing to shout home about, but service was not too bad. The room was down beside the road entrance area, and its a long walk back there during the rainy season!! BEWARE of the road noise with loud...

I normally don't take the time to review hotels despite being a seasoned traveller. However, I was so appalled by the service and staff at this hotel, that I felt compelled to comment. I have never encountered such a rude and disrespectful concierge (apparently she is the "accountant"). This raving lunatic has anger issues and unleashed her wrath when I...

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with my family recently. First off, they placed us in a room that was recently painted so the paint fumes was overwhelming. And by the next morning we asked to be moved. On top of that, the maintenance staff woke us up at around 6 a.m. with their constant chatter and noise....
