Charged $35 a night and for the little power and water we used it did seem a little hot although I know it's out in the middle of nowhere. Stone sites, plenty room clean ammenities although no shower curtains which I detest I think is a necessity. Went out to see the big red sand dune. Really at this time...

The site is well maintained and in good order but they really open their mouths on charges. Try $40 for an unpowered tent-pitch site on fine packed gravel, which gives you a little shade if you're lucky, plus access to the kitchen, toilets and showers. The other gripe is that the entire site is brightly flood-lit all night. Who wants...

Birdsville Caravan Park is situated on the Diamentina River with some unpowered camping sites along the river. The caravan park has plenty of powered camping sites some undercover, undercover picnic tables, bbq facilities, clean amenities with hot showers and a clean camp kitchen. Cabins were also available. The staff were very friendly. Would stay again.

We pre booked our sites for the Birdsville races. Minimum 7 days booking required approx $129 each for the 5 of us. On arrival we were given wrist bands to wear at all times to use facilities and we were advised that we would be checked. Well none of us were ever questioned or asked to show our bands and...

With this being the only van park in town we were stuck with it but I can't see us staying there again. For what we got we thought it was well over priced. We travelled from Sydney across the bottom of the country, up the west coast and down through the Northern Territory, staying at many van parks and this...

My husband and I have stayed at this park a couple of times. It is always VERY clean and the amenities block are spotless with ample hot water showers. The town is easy to walk around and the people are very helpful. There is a lot of history in this small town. There is an excellent bakery in town where...

I have stayed at this caravan park many times over the years while travelling the outback. The 1st time was in 1992 when it was just a dusty paddock and a small toilet block in the middle of nowhere. Nowdays it is a large caravan park trying its best to service the large volume of people of all types travelling...

“If in a tent, try to find a spot in the trees near the amenities as it gets very windy on the open flats towards the river. Or camp across the river for free and pay $5 for a shower.”
