Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed for 4 nights in August 2021, first time at the site but wanted a coastal stay. Very experienced campers, we had 2 pitches on pitches 1 and 2. There is not a lot of tent pitches, and the ground is VERY hard, even we had trouble. We noticed that there is no pitch spot checks when guests leave, therefore pitches have a number of pegs and sharp item's left in the ground. We had sharp pegs underneath our ground sheet and tent so when walking around our tent it was sharp and uncomfortable. My 9 year old son also fell whilst playing and hurt his knee on an old peg left in the ground. The tent area was kept untidy and grass not cut with a lot of weeds and stinging weeds. Not ideal for young kids playing. Pitches are slightly sloped so we found this also difficult to pitch the tent but managed.

Bins over flowing and need to be emptied more frequently.

The washing up area was minimal but fine, however there was no plugs so the sinks could not be filled unless you had your own bowls. Sinks also really deep.

We never saw any member of staff throughout our stay unless we were in the shop or bar, no one checking how pitches were being handled or managed and people safely pitching up. Luckily we had no issues with neighbours, but if we had it wouldn't of been very comfortable.

Location is perfect, beech amazing and 10 minutes walk if you turn right out of the site and swimming pool on site is a bonus for kids on a rainy day. Needs booking so book to avoid disappointment. Aberystwyth only 15 minutes drive too.

Bar and grill great and has been refurbished, really nice to go to for drink or food, we ate here for one night and all food was lovely..only negative was that the kids meals had the same chips as adults which were flavoured with paprika or some sort of seasoning, so my kids did not enjoy this. Also book in advance.

Shower room and toilets were OK and clean.

Amusement room for kids needs updating and bar had no change to provide 2ps for the kids so they couldn't enjoy the 2p machine. Air hockey table missing a hand bat thing so couldn't play and was turned off.

Play park could really do with an upgrade with more stuff for the kids, the space is there to add more slides etc...

All in all, an OK stay and would return due to the location to have access to a beach for the kids. But if we found a better site on a beach, then we wouldn't.

More attention to detail and to the campers area would go along way.

After a couple of visits over the Easter weekend I can describe the place is organised chaos. Bar staff are a complete shambles that don’t have a clue how to run a bar.

A real shame as a lot of money has been invested in Cambrian over the years, it’s also a real shame they didn’t go the extra mile and sort out the toilets as the gents is repulsive, the stench is stomach churning.

After spending £150 plus today on Sunday lunch and drinks I’ve left bitterly disappointed, very very average but tbh I doubt they even realise it.

The Sunday lunch was really poor, the roast was actually well presented and of good quality and quantity. It was just ruined by gravy that was like hot water in taste and texture. The whole meal was swimming in watery gravy.

Great shame, the place is lovely and I’m sure with a little effort could be good.

Fantastic site that we generally visit once a year. Stayed for 5 nights in a tent on the touring field and had a really enjoyable stay.

Showers and toilets are always very clean, showers hot and powerful.

Facilities good and the food available from the bar is decent.

Only reason for not giving 5-stars is a lack of a dog-washing facility - please consider putting one of these in near to the showers!!!! They seem to promote being a dog-friendly site, and having a dog-wash after a day at the beach would be a perfect addition. All it needs is a shower head on a hose.

Also the removal of all of the bin drop points around the side is a bit of a negative.

Stayed in The Dairy Cottage with family and our little terrier. Genuine warm welcome from the reception staff. Every time we went in they took the time to check everything was OK. Very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The Cottage itself was spotless, the cleaning team were lovely and did a fantastic job, thank you! Set in beautiful countryside, just across the road from the beach which was dog friendly. Cottage well furnished and kitchen equipped to a high standard. We had a problem with the Internet late one afternoon, the maintenance guy came round within 10 minutes and did his very best to sort. It was fixed well within 24hrs. Pool was clean and the booking system seems to work well. Every member of the team there from reception, maintenance, cleaners to bar and grill staff were all very friendly and helpful. Ate in the grill a few times, food was fresh, hot and tasty. Thank you all for such a wonderful stay. We all loved it so much we booked to return in 2025 before we left. Thank you!

My husband and I dropped in for a spot of lunch, on a rare day off.
We were met by a very warm welcome by a lovely lady, in a lovely clean, smart establishment.
We ordered fish and chips, one gluten free! No problem with that, food arrived beautifully presented, hot, tasty and very sizable portions, for the price!
Great selection of drinks at the bar, fantastic views from our table.
Looking forward to another day off! See you again soon Cambrian Bar&Grill. Thank you 😁 .

I have been using this site for many years, 58 to be precise. It has changed owners many times, but the present ones have gone to great lengths to make the site a pleasure to be there. The only problem I had, was a few years ago, I booked the touring site for a lady companion, her daughter, and myself . Before we were due to arrive, my then companion lost her 18 year old son to Cerebral Palsy. I informed the site that we would have to cancel due to the grave circumstances, but I was informed by Debbie on reception that we could not be given a refund. and that we should have taken out travel insurance. Perhaps she was right, but under the circumstances, a little more sympathy would have gone a long way. I still feel somewhat sad with regard to this.
I have used the site a few times since, and congratulate the owners for what they have achieved with this holiday park

Club house food again disappointed!
Gave it a go for the third time and never again!
Staff were good, but the food wasn't worth the money, I've seen more lamb on a skinny lamb chop never mind a roast dinner and scoops of mash potato like u got a primary school finished it for me, sorry but never again

We’ve stayed in a private caravan but eaten in the restaurant several times during the week for lunch and evening meals. The food was really nice but the bar staff were fantastic. Very helpful and professional would 100% recommend

We ate in the Cambrian Coast restaurant when we stayed on their caravan site. It has a beautifully recently refurbished bar/restaurant. The place was immaculate with great Covid measures. Staff consistently instigating hygiene measures. All staff friendly and welcoming. We both had The Surf and Turf steaks -both cooked to perfection with a lovely pepper sauce by Martin .My husband had the sticky toffee pudding to die for which we know Martin had cooked fresh that day. Martin was knowledgeable and passionate about his job and local sourced ingredients. Added bonus was 30% off Chef’s Specials! Thoroughly recommended.

We bought a caravan on this place for well deserved family breaks. We have been coming to Borth for the past 43 years and have never stayed at a more disorganised park in all our years. Normally staying down the bottom of the village.

Park is very very clicky owners are so too faced and up the owners backside. They talk about her behind her back but sit drinking with her in the bar.

People are very nosey and interfere with what you are doing on your own pitch even when they are not your immediate neighbours. We are down the very bottom of the site furthest away, owners up by the entrance moaning about what we are doing. To put it simple mind your own business I pay my site fees, (which are extortionate for what you get).

People are miserable sods and will moan about anything they can,Not friendly at all. There is also a owner who is a weird lad in his twenties who hangs about the mens showers very creepy. As a static owner he should not be using the touring facilities!!!!!!!. Owner even had a go for washing our car on our pitch which was covered in seagull mess. Miserable toerags watch all you do and report back to owner.

The bar has been redone and does look very nice, however, if you walk in there and you are not one of the clicky hens you get stared at and see people talking about you not nice. Food is standard ready made meal or freezer ready ingredients. Nothing really to boast about.

Wish we would have gone elsewhere see you soon Brynrodyn
